You’re welcome ☺️
Useful sharing
Is the ground beside the 12v only for the 12v or does the 5v also use that ground too, I'm going to be running only 2.5" HDD's from this cable and i already know i don't need the 12v power for that
Great YT, is there a power supply for 2 to 5 Sata Drives?
good idia sir
super duper information I love this this video I think first
useful info thanks, in coming videos give some explanation, without voice understanding is tough, anyway good job
대단합니다
Thanks🌹🌹🌹
Great video, but I have a question. I have a SATA cable that only has 4 wires (no orange). Is the 12v still yellow?
Yes. Or you can use multimeters check it!
Thank you
Thank you!

Have not yet found a good answer online> Q: Does the SATA Drive require the Orange wire to be connected. I have purchased Molex to SATA Adaptor cable, which only has Four wires. Red-Blk-Blk- Yel. No Orange wire. My SSD Crashed when using the adaptor, so plugged back into SATA which comes from PSU and has Orange cable. All seemed well again. Thank goodness. I would like to connect Seagate Barracuda 500 GB SATA as do not have any good working SATA connectors, as they have split and no longer make a reliable connection. would have to use an adaptor.
Hi, I have WD 2tb external so the amphenol sata got burnt so it is no longer powering the drive what can I do?
can you please make a video on how to run hdd with laptop charger adapter
I will try it 🔜
Is it safe to be used as a means of powering a fan hub?
I’m not recommend it!
Why you need power for a fan like that?
If you need 5v power, you can use mobile or any other charger.
@@GoldScrew I was talking about the molex connection on a computer they are compatible with fan hubs
Thanks thanks thanks thanks
Exellent video.
if I solder the pins 3 in 3 like in the video and make the connection of 5v (black and red) and 12v (yellow and black) and ignore the brown will the motor work?
Yes. It’s need only two wires (+) and (-)
The Sata ssd comes with 5 watt and 1A
Or 1.5A
And we are connected with 12 watt so it is harmful for Sata ssd or not???
I am using ssd instead of hard drive and my sata power cable have 5 wire yellow, orange is it harmful or not???
Plzz answer my question i am waiting⏳
SSD not same HDD.
So pls don't using 12v with SSD, it's can be damage because the over current.
thanks
Bro part two data wire
For the life of me I don't get why there are more power than data pins

your video are very interesting and full of information, but this music for ever and ever makes people going crazy! better silence, or ambient audio, or you speaking explaining, but please stop this awful music! i have a splitting headache!
Thanks for your comment,
I’m removed audio of this video because it’s noisy, I will change the music or muted in other new videos!
i much know how the sata connectors work on a hard drive... Even the early first sata connectors just had the 4 standard wires.. 12v/5v rail
... Now the newer power supplys have the orange wire... 3.3v rail... What i learned with every power supply that has the ORANGE 3.3V power rail.. I always to make sure to cut the orange wire from every power supply in my pcs.... i took a atx power supply out use it for powering up hard drives.. but I NOTICE the hard drive would refuse to spin up after connecting the SATA POWER CONNECTOR..
Now i cut the ORANGE WIRE, because this wire will prevent the sata hard drive from spinning up..
SO ANY ONE THAT READS THIS.
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO CUT THE 3.3V ORANGE RAIL on a pc supply.. i dont know why they decided to add this wire. but to me its bout worthless... the older sata connectors dont have no such wire... So this is what i learned from satas that first came out..
so if you take a sata drive out of a external case and decide to do it like what i do...
Just remove the orange wire or cut it.. it will not effect the SATA HARD DRIVE WHAT SO EVER.. with it removed the drive will spin up...
Thanks!
