Stephanie- I am an opthalmic technician for an OD. One thing we suggest patients is to 1. Use a gel drop as it's a little thicker and stays with you a bit longer. 2. Keep your drops in the fridge. The drops will be sooo soothing when you apply. 😊😊😊
I appreciate hearing why you won't purchase something especially when your viewpoint is similar to mine. Is it just me or have we reached the point of saturation with lip glosses, oils and even lipsticks? I have enough to last a lifetime already!
I appreciate the more selective purchasing this year. I went overboard last year and want to do a no buy low buy this year. We all need to be shopping our stash more. I really think everyone needs to use what we have. Maybe then these companies will start dropping prices. Thank you for all the great content. Happy New Year!
Completely agree!!! Why do brands like Jones Road (talking to you BB) and RMS think all mature women want greasy glow?! Im 57 and have combo oily T skin and refuse to buy anything glowy or uber matte. When can we get satin finish products, not the lumi-matte, natural, terminology
I think it’s great if you choose the products that appeal to you and try, there’s too much out there to keep up with it all! We just appreciate your honest opinions as always :) Speaking as a fellow late 40’s makeup wearer…I especially appreciate your feedback on foundations since that’s the most tricky as our skin changes
I appreciate hearing your thought process and the fact that you aren't just buying everything. Discernment should be the driver for 2025 for everyone! 💝
I agree with this thoughtful approach of being more picky about purchasing. I am also interested in new ways to use the makeup we have or different looks with what we have. One eye palette and one look does not demonstrate any product versatility to me but that is just my opinion 😊
Stephanie - my eye doctor said that to combat dry and runny eyes Omega 3s are your best friend. It helped me so I thought I'd let you know :) Apparently it helps with perimenopause and menopause symptoms too.
I like the wet and wild under eye blue stick ! 59yrs old this year ….. helps with moisture, cooling the under eyes and bags ….. can be applied after makeup throughout the day ! Almost as good as my non drugstore one ! I live in Florida and family is from Lafayette! Happy Mardi Gras / Carnival season! 🎉
These days I get more satisfaction when I finish a product than when purchasing a new one. Another great video! Try Rum Raisin (008) in the Revlon Super Lustrous Shine. It’s a very pretty color. I do like the color you used though, it’s not easy to find a lipstick in that color. Might get that in the summer.
Hi Stef! My Pro Girl! I just LOVE when you come on bare-faced and show me how to apply makeup the professional way! That is, opposed to MY way which is haphazard and UNprofessional, LOL! Oh and I'm gonna order the Refresh Digital because I have a drawer full of eyedrops for my dry eyes, and I also have Lumify for whitening, but I need to try a new one.
Love your videos! You’re so thorough and meticulous and we have the same skin type! For the eyes, try some Desitin or my favorite Calmoseptine baby rash cream under the outer corner of the eye to prevent chafing from the watering. Works wonderfully! In a pinch you can use Vaseline instead. Also the Systane preservative free eye drops are super hydrating! These work so well for sensitive dry eyes and you can use them more often than preservative containing drops!
I love the information about the products you are testing. I always intend on waiting till i hear your official review on products before I buy them. Yet, sometimes I want to buy it right away, so the sooner I hear a little info on a product the better.
I know the trend is supposed to be back to powder blushes, but as a lady with mature skin, they will have to pry my cream and liquid products out of my cold, dead hands. I liked your GRWM today. It was a lot closer to reality, with some products working better than others. I don’t have any lip oils. I heard good things about the Clarin’s one. Do you like it?
Great job. I find it helpful to know what you won't be purchasing. I would love to see a video on make up mistakes and how you fix them. For example, I find it difficult apply lip liner to my top lip. It looks uneven. Suggestion for your foundation video start with splurge to most affordable. Due to the increasing cost of everything I want my spurge to be a wow.
I love this video format. I really appreciate your rationale behind why you won’t try certain new launches. I would watch another video like this! The only thing I wish is that the product list was separated into the items that you talked about and the items that you used in the video.
I like that you are taking a stand on what you are not down with, at least initially. It makes you seem more like regular Jane watching your video’s. I have unsubscribed to many creators that don’t curate their reviews/collections to reflect that of the average consumer. I will now be visiting your channel more with hopes that I can subscribe once again.
While I’m really happy that Revlon brought back the Glass Shine balms, I haven’t liked all the shades. I’ve tried 5… Honey Shine was a gorgeous color but felt gritty after reapplication from the shimmer. Nude Illuminator isn’t the same as the old formula- the new version has blue shimmer. I thought it looked a little odd on me. I swatched it on the back of my hand and after I wiped it away my hand had blue micro glitter on it. Rum Raisin and Cherry Luster are both really great (no shimmer). Cherry Luster is a pretty, muted coral on me and will be perfect for summer. My favorite has been Spiced Wine, it’s a beautiful soft warm nude. It’s very sheer, almost a warmer version of Clinique Black Honey (which looks gray on me).
I feel your pain with your eyes Stephanie! I have eczema round my lids and its driving me mad! Such a good video as usual, great to have your thoughts on the new products 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much for your honest assessments of the products you are trying. It is really helpful when looking at and trying to make decisions on buying makeup products. I really appreciate your videos!
Hi Stephanie. I also have very watery runny eyes (especially during the spring allergy season) that always ruin my makeup. My optometrist suggested I try Pataday extra strength drops and said they're safe for daily use. They made such a difference! I personally use them in the evening before bed, so they have enough time to kick in, and in the morning my eyes don't run anymore! Just like with many allergy medications, they work best after several days of consistent use. Hope this helps!
Hi Stef! I had already put a comment, but I ended up ordering several more things.....I'm excited for a New Year of New Releases that I can try based on your recommendations!
I heard the glass skin, highlighter, and contour was going out. Also cream blush and back to powder. I agree with you. I purchased 3 of tye revlon shine a rum raisin rich is nice for winter, 200 something strawberry the label is cringed and i cant make it out, 210 so sleek pink is a more mutted pink you may like better. I have very dry chapped lips all year. I purchased the whole collection of ColourPop fresh kiss glossy lip balm and im really impressed with how nicely it softened my lips. Lighter colors are more sheer but the deeper color give a beautiful wash of color without lipsticks or liner.
I ordered 2 batches of foundation/concealer samples from Sephora. NOW I understand WHY high end makeup is so desirable! They also tend to be greater amounts per package, so last a long time. BUT every product costing 40-plus is why I'm paying off credit card debt for the 2nd time. This time not with a loan - out of my retirement account. Thank goodness before I got completely out of hand. I completely stopped wearing makeup for about 2 years. Now the number of products seemed to have quadrupled. I'm sure this hasn't happened in just 2 years, but I'm obsessed like a 13 year old! So your advice, out of 3 or 4 people is invaluable to me!
I do like hearing your thought process as to why you would not buy a formula. I am more of a your skin, but better make up type of person, but I enjoy seeing your reviews on the products you would or would not recommend.
I’m 42 and definitely have aging skin, but mine is dry and the Dewey luminous stuff really does seem to work better for me. At least at the moment we’ll see how that changes.
Hi, hope your eye gets better! Just wanted to say that Smashbox Superfan mascara is my favorite. I have used this for a few years and can’t find anything better. It is water resistant and is great to use on the lower lashes as well. As noted, it can be a bit clumpy if not applied with care, but it builds quickly and stays put. hsn often has great deals on this - free shipping or BOGO or get a free liner, etc. Happy 2025! ❤
I've got a potential and highly unexpected recommendaton for excessively watery eyes - An eye massager with heat. I received one for Xmas (mine is the base model from Renfro) and honestly thought it was a total gimmick...until I actually used it. Now I use it every single morning for the programmed 15 minutes on my naked face, either before or after showering/washing my face. I've even noticed an improvement in my vision since I started using it! I can't figure out why it works so well for my watery eyes, but I now only use eyedrops maybe once per week if that. Now that you're entering menopause, you can expect watery eyes to become more of a problem, and the massager really does seem to help.
A professional suggested Occusoft Plus Lid scrub for my “waterfall eye” last year. You use one side end for each lid and eyelash line with that eye closed; you do not want the original version which requires highly thorough rinsing. You do not rinse and I’ve noticed it works well under my skincare and makeup. I compared prices and found my best price online. I do still use an OTC eye drop as needed.
I feel your frustration. My left eye waters alot in winter, and I live where winter is at least half the year. It creates challenges for makeup but also great testing and way to declutter what doesn't hold up for me. Thanks for your thought ful discussion on what you may not buy and why, as well.
I have very sensitive eyes. My eyes kept getting worse 'cos I thought my fibro was getting worse (it is) but I finally caught a whiff of faint fragrance in my tissues. That got me thinking. Turns out, nearly all tissues have fragrance in them even if not listed/marketed! Kleenex only make 2 types with no fragrance (at least in AU). Have to buy special ones. See if that helps. Even if something else sets you watering, at least your tissues won't be making it worse as mine were for literal years. Been a huge improvement.
Up and out bend and snap. Lol! That was great. Enjoyed your GRWM and the products that you recommend and those you don’t. Definitely be thoughtful with your purchases. We don’t have to see every product that comes out and especially if you are purchasing yourself.
I agree with your rationale to limit purchases/reviews. I feel as a whole, we're all moving towards being a bit 'smarter' about our purchases and resisting the urge to buy and try every new thing that hits the market. And really, how often do you see a really original formula or product hit the beauty market? Most of the time I just see one company trying to dupe a product from another company, etc. As for your upcoming foundation review, how about basing the sequence on price? Whether from highest to lowest or lowest to highest, it can help us better figure out not only what formulas might be best for each of us, but also what fits our budget.
Hi Stephanie I think most people are at an oversaturated point re makeup after the last couple of years. I don't need everything that's new and in fact last year really cut my makeup spending with real thought put into what I did buy. I plan to do the same this year. Makeup brands are pumping out so many releases that no one person can try everything, so being selective makes a lot of sense. In some ways brands have done this to themselves as we're at the point "ok but it's not anything different to what I already own over and over". Best wishes x
I know you didn’t ask for recommendations but I have Graves Disease so extreme dry eye comes with the territory. I use an eye ointment (there are several on the market, I find Bausch and Lomb’s Soothe works the best for me) along with a sleep mask makes all the difference. The sleep mask helps keep my eyes from drying out during the night and I find I tear less (sometimes not at all) during the day.
Kinda interested in this foundation. It looks like my cup of tea, and looks really great on you. Interested in how it wears. I did pick up rum raisin in the lip shine. That honey shine color looks pretty, as well.
I always enjoy your videos. I trust your opinions on what works for different skin types. My skin is dry & wrinkled & I agree that overly dewy or glowy products emphasize wrinkles, texture and pores. I do wish you’d done a more direct comparison of the CG & Maybelline sticks for application ease, pigment, longevity and best uses but that may be a video for another time. I get watery eyes when I’m outside especially if the wind’s blowing. I also get powder specks on my glasses if I use anything powdery on my eyelids or undereye.
I really like the new Mario lip gloss. It's pretty, and since I don't have a large collection anyway, it works for me. Also, I vastly prefer cream blushes and cream contour over powder. Doesn't matter to me if something is "in" or "out", if it works for my skin, I'm still going to use it.
I am so with you on skipping most of these products. I also have very oily skin and live in a fairly humid climate (Arkansas) and I know that the L'Oréal and NYX products would just look like a hot a mess on me. I don't think that beauty gurus need to purchase every new release. If you know it isn't going to work for you, then what's the point in even trying it? Let someone else that is the target audience review it. I am all for simplifying makeup purchasing, especially when it comes to base products. They're so personal, and not every product is going to work for everyone. I'm happy with my L'Oréal Infallible and Maybelline Age Rewind. I'll be more adventurous when it comes to eyeshadows and lip products.
Ugh the watery eyes. They are the bane of my existence. I have tried every brand of eye drops but I still have to use a tissue for the first few hours of the day. Using cream or liquid eye shadow helps dramatically. I also started taking lutein and that has helped as well.
Wow its interesting to see you use such a small brush to contour. I always wondered why everyone uses these big brushes that would take up half of my face for blush, contour or bronzing. I get it to blend out after application but not before. I am going to try that! Embarrassed that I didn't do that on my own. I guess I was thinking there was a reason it "had" to be done that way. Apparently there really are no rules in makeup. 😂Thank you💕
Your finished look is gorgeous, so pretty especially the eyes!!! Really impressive for a 1st try-on. I am so so over shiny lip oils .. there are waaaay too many now. For me the pictures of the Mario ones do look tempting but I need to use what I have first .. they'll no doubt still be there when I need a new one to try!!! I am late to the party on the Mario liquid bronzer with the dual application method, but ordered it last week and cannot wait to try it .. did you review it? If possible can you send me the link if you have? I know you are probably inundated with requests, so no problem if you can't! Thank you xx
I’ve had my left eye run for years. 20 years ago my drainage duct was clogged. Now I just have a constant runny eye. Haven’t been able to wear concealer for years because of it.🤷♀️
@@StephanieMarie Thanks so much! Your recommendations are always spot on. I never bought anything you recommended and regretted it. Wishing you (and New Orleans -- such a fabulous city!) a very happy and safe 2025. I probably shouldn't have waited until the 13th to say that 🙂
Thank you for the truthful reviews. For your eyes you should get msm eye drops. I get the one from the brand happy body they sell them on Amazon sometimes or from difrent webs . I get the once 15% and they burn like hell for few minutes but they also have lower percentage if you no ok with pain. But they help a lot with eye problems floaters and other stuff. Look in to it they will help and they are better then this stuff you have.
Stephanie, don't make me do another midnight YesStyle run. I'm waiting for Judydoll mascara (and Smokey Wood palette, a pressed glitter and more lip products, like I didn't buy like 50 in the past 3 months). I've always wanted an A-Beauty "micro cara" for lower lashline as mine are so sparse and fine but they never worked. I think I might even have this in my saves...if it's got fibres you've sold me and I know they're so cheap too.
Hahaha! Finally you guys know what it's like to wait for a product...and even then you only had to wait a few months. Try literal years (if at all). Maybelline formula is quite nice. Nothing close to a shade match for me though. I had hoped we'd seen the end of skin tints, glow and everything liquid/cream/dew stick going into 2025 but no. Sigh.
Oh good more lip oils being passed off as gloss and gloss being passed off as lip oils. I hear "I'm going to dry your lips out 'cos we've put hyaluronic acid in there for marketing purposes when there's nothing remotely occlusive enough to lock that in and TEWL is incoming". That's what I hear, Mario. I get tired of answering "anyone got a hydrating lip oil" questions - no. Unless it's got petrolatum and mineral oil in it, no.
I agree with you on new products not for me. That new Huda powder no way I can wear that Enjoyed video I use the NYX lip oil it stays on and has color. The new Elf lip oils are good
Hi Stephanie, thanks for this video. I sure agree with about the NYX Glaze. I like a slight lit from within glow but, looking like a glazed donut definitely does not appeal to me at all. Leave that to Krispy Kreme. Stephanie, I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this video, I feel I need to mention tho, that I found how hurried you were a little off putting. I may be alone in this.
I know this is your job, but I think it’s unnecessary to buy something that doesn’t match your skin type. I’m buying much more picky about what I spend my money on and avoiding things I know I don’t wear or don’t go with my skin type. I think it’s great to see you all doing the same!
And use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo to wash your eyes. I live in north Mississippi. My daughter lives one hour north of New Orleans around covington. EVERYTIME I go I have allergy problems worse than normal. I love my pataday.
Hi, I don’t know if you noticed or not but when you started putting the Huda powder all over your face, it seem to fade out all your other make up it faded out your blush and your bronzer and you could barely tell you had it on. I am not a fan of those pink powders at all.
I said something about that in the video - part of that is because of the bright lights in front of me. Cupcake isn’t really pink. A light dusting of bronzer and layering powder blush helps with that and longevity. All taken care of quickly + my makeup is set well :)
Girl, you wipe your 👀 as much as needed, it does not bother me at all. I totally understand, I have an autoimmune disease that attacked my eyes and I have to keep “👁️ rags” with me at all times. My 👀 are constantly watering and draining.😢I find your channel very helpful, I am 45 and legally blind (autoimmune disease caused), I find your advice and tips very helpful with my makeup experience. Most likely I will not purchase any of the new releases that you had mentioned. I have a large collection for an everyday person, so I am going to try to watch what I buy this year, lol. My personal opinion is I feel that content creators should purchase only what they want to review, the viewers can choose to watch if they are interested in the same products. I do not think it is practical for one to purchase a product to review for others, when it is not useful or wanted by the creator themselves., Thank you for your content. Sent with love, CJ🙏🏻💜
I appreciate all of your information but I got a little headache from the video. I was confused most of the video trying to figure out which products you were talking about, the new releases or the ones you were applying.
I had the same problem but thought it was just me. So I just rewound a bit and got myself straight. Thus video was fun though, as if we were in the same room talking. Just like when I am with a friend and the conversation goes in multiple directions. Lol
Stephanie- I am an opthalmic technician for an OD. One thing we suggest patients is to 1. Use a gel drop as it's a little thicker and stays with you a bit longer. 2. Keep your drops in the fridge. The drops will be sooo soothing when you apply. 😊😊😊

I love when you combine all foundations in your foundation roundup, this way I know if a drugstore is actually better than a highend.
Yes! I’m so tired of all the super glowy luminous products, they don’t do any favors for older or textured skin🙄
Actresses at awards shows, etc., have faces that look like oil slicks!
Completely agree!!! Why do brands like Jones Road (talking to you BB) and RMS think all mature women want greasy glow?! Im 57 and have combo oily T skin and refuse to buy anything glowy or uber matte.

Thank we older get left behind even with clothing that’s out there

I love this eye shadow application! I have hooded eyes and I'm 48 and this just looks beautiful on me! Thank you for teaching this technique.❤️
The revlon shade in nude illuminator is absolutely perfect!

Oh! Good to know! (Sixty something lady here)
What is your non/drugstore one?
Is this similar to the Tula Instant de-puff eye renewal serum?

Seeing you apply your powder reminded me why I like Huda Beauty powder so much! 😊
I suffer with dry eyes in Winter. My optometrist suggested Refresh Digital. Helping my eyes.
You'll love the Revlon super lustrous glass shine in GLAZED MAUVE 💄
I got it and I've been using it nonstop
I love this video format. I really appreciate your rationale behind why you won’t try certain new launches. I would watch another video like this! The only thing I wish is that the product list was separated into the items that you talked about and the items that you used in the video.
Glass skin? I thought we were over the whole glass skin craze. Most people just look oily or sweaty.
Me too! I thought things were heading into the soft matte direction. I'm not sure what's happening! 😩
I really wanted to love the tower28 after yours and others opinions, but it’s so dry and crapey on me and my under eyes are not that dry 😢
Oh your eyelook is so pretty!
Thank you for keeping us company !

Thank you! I was definitely bouncing around! 😆
It’s a great idea, love this idea. Thanks Stephanie!!
I'm 48 and I've been loving the new loreal lumi tint. If you like the elf dupe of ct Hollywood filter you will like it. 😊
I’m 42 and definitely have aging skin, but mine is dry and the Dewey luminous stuff really does seem to work better for me. At least at the moment we’ll see how that changes.
Steph, don’t feel bad about your eye watering mine does that on occasion too. You are not alone…..loved that foundation on your skin by the way
I don't think you should purchase things you don't want. I appreciate your thoughtful approach to buying and, eventually, adding to landfill.

Great video!! Enjoyed!!!
Ha, My left eye has been watering for a week now. Drives me crazy! Thanks for a great video!
The Revlon lip shines are great. Very similar to the Rouge Coco balm by Chanel. We don't have the new look yet in the UK. ❤
More real time fixing mistakes please! Invaluable
Pataday eye drops for allergies are the best
The uk don’t do shade 125 so I got 118 white on me I’ll try 119 but loving the foundation looks fantastic on skin ❤
😂Thank you💕
You can buy antihistamine eye drops over the counter. They work better for allergies.
Lumify dries my eyes. But if I really need it you can always add your eye drops for moisture
Haven’t been able to wear concealer for years because of it.🤷♀️
Loved this style of video
Is your hearing any better? Hoping your MRI went well ❤
I saw a TT about watering eyes 👀 the dr. Said to put a warm compress on your eyes for 10minutes. Then massage around the eyes
Watering eyes is a constant trouble for me!!
Great video! You linked to Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint in Shade 200. What shade do you use of the Lumi Glotion? 902 Light? Thanks!
I have light and medium. I use medium to mix with foundations, put on the body, and for a dewy nude look and light for more of a champagne highlight
@@StephanieMarie Thanks so much! Your recommendations are always spot on. I never bought anything you recommended and regretted it. Wishing you (and New Orleans -- such a fabulous city!) a very happy and safe 2025. I probably shouldn't have waited until the 13th to say that 🙂
Do you wet your blending sponge?
Can you please link the new maybelline foundation?
I linked it in my description box. It’s not available yet through RUclips links
The new Elf lip oils are good
What was the blue tube mascara? Don’t see it in the product list?
I said the name in the video :) Focallure - it’s listed ❤️
Good video!!
Whats the lip gloss urvwering its really pretty r u also weribg a liner too and is that foundation likeban ivory color
Everything is shown in the video. Thank you!
Try the refresh omega 3 drops
OMG my right eye waters CONSTANTLY when I'm applying my MU! So annoying....no idea why...
Pataday!!!! Best but tou have to use it every day! It is aoooooooo good
And use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo to wash your eyes. I live in north Mississippi. My daughter lives one hour north of New Orleans around covington. EVERYTIME I go I have allergy problems worse than normal. I love my pataday.
Decided this year to not watch haul videos, they are mind numbing, you can only use so many products.
Please give thought to the purchase of all types of beauty products. I really need to rein in my purchasing for 2025. thanking you in advance!
I don't need to try out every new product. If it's a product, you endorse. You'll let us know.😊
Please only buy and review makeup you think you would like❤
Girl, you wipe your 👀 as much as needed, it does not bother me at all. I do not think it is practical for one to purchase a product to review for others, when it is not useful or wanted by the creator themselves.,
Thank you for your content.
Lol
Have you seen/tried the NYX face glue? Literally looks like a bottle of glue 🤣
What is that for?
@@lauriemalek9685 it’s a primer, I believe.
TY ‼️@@Pamela-B
Thanks for another great video Stephanie - don't forget to check your emails for a collab opportunity ❤
❤❤❤😊
My eye doctor recommended those drops for my eyes. I start my day with them, they are great.
