The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.

This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.

@@FacesoftheForgotten you should have drove down interstate 77 south to Canton where I live. We have a lot of history down here. Al Capone had a home here, with gangsters buried here from the 20s. Youngstown aka bombtown for all the mob car bombs in the 50s and 60s. In the 90s the mob put a hit out on the state's attorney Paul Gains, the hitman shot him in his kitchen in Boardman Ohio a suburb of Youngstown. The DA survived and is still the DA in Mohoning County. A&E City Confidential did a show about it

In Akron Ohio south of Cleveland. In 1980, cosmetics magnate and millionaire Dean Milo was found dead in his mansion. The investigation eventually led police to a hitman and Dean's own brother, Fred. A&E City Confidential aired the story back in 2001 I believe. You can find a lot on Google about the story. A lot of twists and turns
I'm from Cleveland..I remember my brother and I taking a day and walking around this cemetery. We originally went to see Garfield. And then learned that so many other popular people were buried there. I saw her and thought she was beautiful. Happy to see you went here and saw her. ☺️
I came across your channel by accident a few months ago, and being a person who's always been bothered by death and the idea of dying, watching your videos and the stories you've featured have become such an unusual way of appeasing this fear.

Lake view cemetery is beautiful and historic. I live in NE Ohio and have been there several times. If you are back sometime around April, you should go there and see the daffodils 🌼❤️
They have Daffodil Hill in that cemetery which is an entire hillside of yellow daffodils flowers that bloom in early-mid Spring 💛 Congratulations on reaching 100K👏🙌😁

Congratulations, Ron! Although I am a newer member, I have to tell you I have been fascinated with cemeteries since I was a child. (I thought I was one of just a few who had this strange obsession with cemeteries!). My mother died when I was 5, and I spent time sitting at her grave and wondering about all the other souls who had passed....who they were...what kind of lives they had...what happened to them. I never knew there were so many others like myself! Thank you for your wonderful work and bringing us all together. Your sense of adventure...your historical look at the lives of so many....your empathy when sharing these precious stories.. has been a dream come true for myself and many others. What a blessing to be a part of this channel!

Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland is one of the most historic and beautiful in the U.S. It is THE biggest attraction in Cleveland to me. I always visit when I'm in Cleveland. Elliot Ness and President Garfield are here. Make the time to visit if you are ever in Cleveland. You will be glad you did.

I have spent so many days on the tours here. Everything from Daffodils, Angels, Architectural to Heritage Days; the tours are wonderful. The history of the area is so rich with the flavor of the Patriot immigrants who came to America to work and raise their families.
Lakeview Cemetary is a monumental asset to our area, just a wonderful place to spend a day.

I’ve watched a couple other individuals on RUclips who frequent cemeteries and share their videos, but nobody comes close to your videos Ron. It’s definitely apparent that you are well read, and a master story teller of people’s lives. Remembering them. The music and drone shots are awesome! Thanks Ron for making the extra efforts in all your cemetery adventures. Most of us would never get the chance to see these burial sites/tombstones, if it wasn’t for your videos.

I would like you to feature this, as the popular hymn writer, Philip Bliss, was one of the casualties: In December 1876, a Howe-truss bridge, near Ashtabula, Ohio, collapsed while a train with three passenger cars was crossing it. Howe-truss bridges were made from either wood or iron. This particular bridge was constructed of iron. The train and its passengers plunged sixty feet into a ravine and creek. The lamps and stoves used to light and heat the train cars quickly caught the wreckage on fire. Eighty-three people died, with an additional sixty suffering various injuries, ranging from fractures to frostbite.
Yes, please do. This wreck involved so many side dramas, Bliss getting out but going back in to die with his wife, a cowardly drunk fire chief, tycoons who later committed suicide, hero town folk who couldn't use the iced over steps, so went down the ravine with sleds for the injured. Some were crushed, burned, drowned, just horrible. But like the Titanic, changed safety regulation laws after the fact.

It's also well known that the cemetery where a mass burial took place for the unrecognizable dead is haunted. It's definitely a place to check out.

Lakeview is a jewel. So much history. Incredible sculptures, headstones, mausoleum set on beautiful grounds. You can easily spend hours walking around and exploring. Check out the story of John Cremer Young Jr who is buried there. Tragic story.

Lake view cemetery in my new home, Ohio. I'm from Chicago and thought nothing was more beautiful and historical than Rose hill cemetery. There is so much to see at Lakeview including Alan Freed. I hope you do more from this gorgeous and historic cemetery.

Congrats on reaching 100K. At first I was hesitant joining a cemetery channel. After I joined in late 2020, I enjoyed learning past & current history from famous & non-famous people. The topic of death is viewed as " I don't want to be reminded of that". Its a natural occurrence so we all have to work on our goals without any regrets.

@@FacesoftheForgotten come to Wisconsin more often. I need to find you some stories for the Waukesha county area. I’m in New Berlin, Wisconsin. There is a police officer buried in our cemetery holy apostles parish cemetery that was I believe shot on duty in the 2000s. He survived surgery and then died from a blood clot while still in the hospital. Everyone was so excited that he was going to survive and then he passed away from the pulmonary embolism. I live very close to the cemetery and I think of him often. Especially now that I watch your videos.

What an amazing, & victorious opening! Recognized the angel right away; so nice to see it, hear it’s story; to know about the individuals that caused it’s creation. Many thanks Ron; for your usual good job. When I was a kid, whenever we drove past a cemetery, my dad would say: ‘ They’re planting people again. When are they going to learn they just don’t grow?’ This comment removed my fear of cemeteries; and of my ultimate fate. It also peaked my interest & fascination with this subject; nice to know that many, many others feel the same. Many thanks, Ron for sharing these stories with grace, dignity & respect; taking me on these adventures to places I’d never see otherwise, ppl I would never have known about, bringing them to life. My dad was a history buff, as am I; & after watching these videos, I’m very satisfied. And wanting more of the same. & that 99,999 others feel the same…..Congratulations on a well deserved milestone!

Oh, I did not mean to be miss leading. I don’t live there anymore but if I did I would most definitely be visiting. I have always liked wandering through cemeteries and visiting the graves. My daughter likes it as well.
