They are using different tech and working hard what is the ignorant negativity to this effort. At least Mr. Bezos is doing more than his critics are doing, I wish all success
So are the anomalies at launch a result of failure to physically test? Let's see how the New Glenn cryogenic fuels handling goes when in orbit. It really caused more problems to SpaceX than both NASA's and DoD early launches could have suggested.
@imaginary_friend7300 reliable fuel flow and ice formation within the flowing fuel. Cameras within the tanks has helped SpaceX identify the problems and the engineers developing solutions, which New Glenn hasn't received.
I get the feeling that the SpaceX launch sequence is much more automated, and perhaps their preflight checks finds weaknesses to be fixed and or the subsystems are much more reliable. Also, programming is more reliable. AI?
This company is well known for choosing to go slow. Very, very, slow. Incredibly slow. That said, I would be willing to bet that they get this rocket in the air in 2025. They may succeed in the whole mission by 2027. And by 2030 they will be putting stuff up competitively into space every half year or so... Well, sort of. They may compete with Falcon Heavy. However, by that time the rocket will be 14 years old and outdated. That is the problem with making going slow your biggest feature. It's not competitive in real time, thus becoming a practice in spending money rather than flying rockets, and not much more...
New Glenn and Starship have been in development for the exact same periods of time. Starship is expected to launch on its 7th flight during January 2025 after demonstrating a successful booster catch by Mechazilla arms on its launch tower in 2024.

NG was designed to compete with Falcon 9, even though Falcon 9 can get more tonnage to orbit. Falcon 9 has *over 300 successful payloads to orbit* compared to NG at zero. In fact BO was founded before SpaceX, yet they still have nothing to orbit at all.
@@Contrarian-ol2bc I didn't compare both rockets. I compared how SpaceX and BO treats their viewers when problem arising. BO should have call it off after 2nd delay.
@@atkinsyk4252bud their business is launching rockets as soon as possible and not entertaining masses. It's just a side PR thing and in fact it isn't needed at all. Plesse understand this.
Rather scub it than explode like Starship did
What starship ever exploded on launch?
Must be as frustrating for all those working on the project, as it is for people watching. As stated this is a brand new vehicle and better a launch delay to address every issue no matter how minor. Also it is understandable wanting perfect weather for the flight to remove weather complications from causing the launch to fail. Hopefully we get to watch a successful launch and return to earth soon!
Thia hspprns when there isn't enough test launches. It is actually faster to launch with anticipated explosions just to find out what doesn't work.. But when it isn't possible/allowed to mske disposable test units this happens.
Maybe BO should have taken a page from SpaceX, launching numerous smaller rockets to test the various systems and increasing in size and complexity with each iteration.
BO went with the development path that the legacy people use. It's the system that got people to the moon. Both have their pro's and cons.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom While what you say is historically accurate NASA got us to the moon only by throwing nearly unlimited money at the moon program. That model hasn't worked since then, as evidenced by the fact that we haven't returned to the moon after 50+ years.
If can't 100% guarantee to successful launch & Booster come back landing on the platform raft..Then SCRUB the launch is the only way. We can wait 1day, 2 days, 7 days...until the 100% reached. Following the early days of SpaceX & Sea Launch..as well as RD-180 rockets PERIOD.
Hopefully, these problems will not be symptomatic of problems in the rocket itself. Does anyone want to bet on it?
Space is HARD.
There really is no need for Blue Origin to match spacex vis-a-vis when landing the first stage -- on a barge on the ocean. Sure, it's great advertisement & shows you can compete with spacex. But, just have it splash down to the water already.
Shout out to all the adolescent trolls in the comments section!
I'm not sure New Glenn has a Wet rehearsal... so this will be it and it was not successful.
It had a wet dress before this.
HOW DISAPPOINTING AND EMBARRASSING FOR JEFF BOZO & BLUE ORIGIN ! ! ! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Not really, but I am now convinced you are a simpleton and that everything you say is likely going to be ridiculous.
Maybe try and sound more enthusiastic about the subject?
What a let down at least SpaceX is consistent. I am looking forward to Flight 7.
Was they consistent in the beginning
The star ship only landed once and it was a hard landing and it caught fire
Always delay mr.delay afraid to failure Elon musk not afraid they learn in every failure.
So you mean there is a chance... it will launch before 2026??? Yes, theoretically.
How much Delta V does the first stage expand for the reentry burn?
Congrats on playing KSP for 10 hours and learning a big boy term like delta V and asking a 'smart' sounding question that no one has the answer to
@ congrats on being a jackass. Somebody knows the answer. We have answers for the amount of Delta V used to turn around the starship first stage . The numbers are also known for the boot bag burns for the falcon heavy first stage, reentry burns, and approximate landing burns. It’s a perfectly reasonable question. What are you in high school or something?
@ congratulations on being a jackass. What are you in high school or something? Somebody will know the answer. The numbers are known for what it takes to do the boost back burn for the starship booster. The numbers are also known for falcon nine boost back burns and reentry burns. It’s a perfectly reasonable question because it helps to figure out how much fuel needs to be held in reserve, which affects the first stage performance.
This video is as padded as the launch wait was.
What a joke .... how many times are jokers going to do this ... they are failures !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucky for JB he didn't run Amazon the same way !
Glory to SpaceX 🚀
JEFF BOZO & BLUE ORIGIN SHOULD JUST GIVE UP NOW & LET ELON MUSK RUN THE SHOW ! ! ! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
You're being simple..
Instead of calling it New Glenn, they should call it "Old Sitting Bull"
red bull gives wings
Better luck next. You are the tortoise in the race.
Assuming it is successful and assuming Starship gets fully functional, what is the point of NASA's SLS? Nothing reusable. Just sucks money away from successful programs and interplanetary missions.
10 years not enough time to build a rocket lol
Enough for SpaceX.
Supposedly they are attempting launch tonight. Hopefully the issue doesn’t come up again and we get a good launch
Tonight? Citation please?
Trying to Gleen some free interest from the big kid on the block
Like foot ball team Viking in MN: Don't worry we'll have next year...
Maybe they need to replace their presenters?
10+ years of delay and counting
Scrubs not RUDs
I’m 30 minutes from watch spot on the river and lm now scared to drive over!
What a joke! Bezos just can't let his baby go. You may as well put New Glen in a museum where Bezos can admire it and make love to it. He just doesn't have the nerve to launch.
Yup. Safety First never gets anything done.
Just updated going to attempt again tonight
It will scrub again tonight.
Bezo couldn't get it up, maybe he needs to put some little blue pills in the fuel tanks, especially since it's Old Glenn now
🤡
The CEO of BO is a guy named 'Limp', you can't make this shit up.
They are using different tech and working hard what is the ignorant negativity to this effort. At least Mr. Bezos is doing more than his critics are doing, I wish all success
Stupid people think they look smart by parroting other stupid people. 99% of these drones don't actually have a clue what's going on.
They never intended to launch it was all just an Amazon trick again
Now January 16
So are the anomalies at launch a result of failure to physically test? Let's see how the New Glenn cryogenic fuels handling goes when in orbit. It really caused more problems to SpaceX than both NASA's and DoD early launches could have suggested.
Usually means sensors are reporting something out of spec. What problems have cryogenics causes spacex in orbit?
@imaginary_friend7300 reliable fuel flow and ice formation within the flowing fuel. Cameras within the tanks has helped SpaceX identify the problems and the engineers developing solutions, which New Glenn hasn't received.
Nice looking rocket!
Great report as always!!!
This is clickbait there's no info here.
Hey, does the New Glenn have free amazon prime shipping ? That would save NASA and the US Military billions every year. (kidding) 😂
I get the feeling that the SpaceX launch sequence is much more automated, and perhaps their preflight checks finds weaknesses to be fixed and or the subsystems are much more reliable. Also, programming is more reliable. AI?
NG was scrubbed so many times that you would think it was being run by a cleaning crew
Maybe because they didn't do a WDR (I may be wrong)
No, the first launch attempt is like a Blue Origin WDR.
Jeff, stick 2 selling & delivering books & dog food, leave the rocket business 2 the professionals.
I love that!
New Glenn and Starship have been in development for the exact same periods of time. Starship is expected to launch on its 7th flight during January 2025 after demonstrating a successful booster catch by Mechazilla arms on its launch tower in 2024.
And Nee Glenn is expected to reach orbit on it’s first launch meanwhile Starship still hasn’t reached orbit after 6 launches. Starship is incredible, but not that far ahead in its development
@@shadowfalcon165 You can't compare the tests of low fidelity throw away test articles that are made during development with something that has completed development. Starship is not ahead in development.
@@imaginary_friend7300I expect BO to begin iterative development immediately after the first launch...
Actually blue origin was founded two years before SpaceX
@@shadowfalcon165 Starship basically reached orbit on IFT-4. They chose not to go orbital because they weren't confident about the de-orbit burn. If we are only slightly lenient, Starship has had 3 orbital flights.
Neither rocket is operational, so the race is not finished yet. If the launch of New Glenn is an unmitigated success before Starship Flight 7, Blue Origin will have passed SpaceX in the milestones.
News Flash, New Glenn launch scheduled for NET Thursday at 1am EST
Don't you want to say "Space is hard"?
Anyone but muxrat
I watched....for an hour or 2. Evidently Blue Origin has no white males on staff. One reporter after another after another was female and DEI. To make matters worse, the broadcast was based on Spacex launches, complete w "clever snd cute-sy" names. When Spacex broadcasts, there are both male and females involved. DEI is not evident....only Meritocracy - and it shows. The level of analysis last night was disappointing to say the least. New Glenn will launch.. i have no doubt...but I will stream it on RUclips AFTER the fact so I don't have to be exposed to their politically correct drivel.
I don't get what that has to do with anything. All their communications people happened to be female that day but plenty of males were given credit during the webcast too, all of which were caucasian, not that it really matters. If you're good at your job, that's what matters. I watched the whole time too. SpaceX also has a lot of female comms people and that's under Musk who is proudly on the right now.
So woke...
lcarlson has his own boatload of political drivel going on so he should be immune to it coming from anywhere else. 🙄
I don't like Bezos & I would'nt piss on Elon if he were on fire but I love me some rockets!! Having said that, I do like Peter Beck & cannot wait to see Neutron launch later this year!!
They never intended to launch there were problems with the engines from the very beginning basil and the whole team knew so. It was all just a lie it was all just attention getting and it was nothing because SpaceX is getting ready to launch starship. The only thing they had going was a Glenn shot well look like in a pretty production team that's it
The joke continues . . .
