Great video! That's a gorgeous bass. I just bought a JB tribute in lake placid blue and I'm blown away by the quality of it. I own 2 Fender jazz basses and a Squier Jazz, but I must say the G&L is the winner. Anyway I just wanted to see how the american version of the JB was. Again great video showing all the different tonal variations and quality of the bass.
JB tributes are GREAT! I got to demo one before getting the USA version and it was a solid instrument. Hard it believe that it costs around 500-600 dollars 😱
i've been playing one in the music store for the past few days. gonna buy one. feels comparable to my vintage j-bass, but the newer technology in the wiring and pick ups produces 'jazz bass nuance' but with more push and power. i appreciated your review.
you make the BEST tone comparison videos. great edits with short riffs that allow us to get a quick listen to each sound. very consistent and just a pleasure to watch. I also love how you show the neck profile and give us an idea of what it feels like in relation to other necks. Thank you for all the time and work you put into these. Now where can I buy an Ivan hoodie?
Thanks for the kind words! Glad that you find the samples helpful :)! If you want to support the channel, you can get some merch here (more designs coming very soon) teespring.com/stores/ivanbassist
G&L is probably better. However the best might actually be Squire because the Nato wood can be light. My Squire P bass weighs only 8 pounds while other basses will weigh over 9 pounds
Great review! G&L offers a lot that I'd prefer such as 12" radius, stainless steel frets, quarter sawn neck, carbon fiber reinforcements, etc for a reasonable price, and these options would cost tonnes of money if you order it from other companies. I'd say G&L is deffo one of the best deals .
@@IvanBassist Just one thing I'd like to ask. Is the neck slim enough compared to Fender jazz?I read on forums that people say it has a meatier neck compared to a Fender
@@stefanfaustmann256 To be honest, I don’t know. I’ve tried some Fenders J which had a much thicker neck profile and others that were slimmer and somewhere in between. I find G&Ls profile to be fairly comfortable
I own three G&L jazz basses and love them all. Your review is accurate and I enjoyed your enthusiasm. Thanks man!
G&L basses are great! Glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
Woaw I smoked a bowl before this started. How long have I been watching this loop!?!??
😂😂😂
Great demonstration and explanation on a cool sounding bass. Thanks

It’s a great bass! Let me know how you like it once you get it 💪🏽
Basso meraviglioso, grande G&L!
I love this bass dude..♡♡♡◇♡♡♡
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you liked it!
What a great tone, now I want to have one of this G&L - basses. 😛
Do it! It’s a great bass :)
I agree great tone! How do you have your amp eq set for this demo? Does it change for slap vs pick vs finger? Thanks!
Hey there! It was just de DI signal. No EQ. Just some compression :)
Sounds great and that bass is beautiful!
This one is definitely a stunner! Thanks for watching, Rasmus!
G&L makes a great bass for the money. Nice review
Thanks! They definitely do! Superb quality and sound 🙌🏽

Sounds amazing!
Thanks 🙏🏽
But where to buy?????? No chance to find one :-( Nice Video by the way :) Thanx!
I’m no fan of the Jazz....but this one in your hands sounds great!
I’m definitely more of a P bass guy, but this J definitely growls. Thanks for watching!
Those G&L basses put fender to rest
G&L is awesome 😎
@@IvanBassist Sure are.Made very well

Great video, but where to buy G&L in EU (specially for lefthenders)????
Have you checked at Thomann, Session Frankfurt or Bax Shop for example?
Neck pickup sounds killer.
Indeed! Lots of growl
Great video! Definitely interested in G&L and their pricing is very reasonable compared to Fender USA made instruments
Indeed! Great quality for the money! I’m currently waiting for a custom G&L to arrive :)

Hi Yvan , got the opportunity to buy one New old stock for 1000 euros ? Is it a good deal?
Yes! They’ve gone up in price recently. I believe they cost twice as much now.
@@IvanBassist it's the old White model Rosewood fingerwood, fullerton Deluxe jazz bass. I 'm gonna buy it. Thank you
How's the neck gloss finish?
How does it compare to the smooth satin finishes?
G&Ls satin finish is a bit smoother, but the gloss finish is definitely playable. I haven’t had any issues since getting the bass
dope Jazz bass thoooooooooooooooo
Ya tu sabes!
@@IvanBassist the tone is rich! I like that
This is elegante bass ..
What is the weight?
I’ll weigh it tonight and let you know
What strings did you have on the bass for this video?
D’addario Nickel 45-100 that came with the bass
I'm on the fence between the american and the tribute. In that exact color and fretboard actually
Can you play them before buying?
This would be great to bring to pub gigs when you don’t want to bring your main bass. Sounds good
I would use this as my main bass 😂😂
Well that is a main for sure. I played alot of super expensive ones but this one is a main.
