  • The Parademarsch der Langen Kerls ("Parade March of the Long Guys") was originally composed in 1922 by Marc Roland for the movie Fridericus Rex (about the Prussian king Friedrich II). Since then, it has become a part of the repertoire of the German army. The march is named after the Altpreußische Infanterieregiment No. 6 ("Old Prussian Infantery Regiment No. 6"), nicknamed Lange Kerls ("Long Guys"). This regiment was composed of soldiers who had to be at least six Prussian feet long (around 1,88 meters), who were recruited from all over Europe.
Performed by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Band of Tokyo.
The accompanying painting depicts Prussian king Friedrich Wilhelm I inspecting several of these soldiers.
