- I love exploring history and hiking in unique places. The Blue Ridge Tunnel in Afton, Virginia definitely meets the criteria for both of these objectives. This was a really cool hike (both with the neatness factor and with the temperatures on a hot day).
In this video I share the adventure and some of the history and statistics of this tunnel with you.

My great grandfather use to work for that railroad. His job was to walk that particular tunnel and check for cave ins.

About 3 1/2 hours from my house I need to go check it out. Very cool. Always like seeing those kinds of entrances and the quality of work. Concrete and vinyl siding are the goto now and it just can not compete with good stone work.

I used the settings I outlined in this video to prevent jitter or ghosting: ruclips.net/video/e5Sx3s94syw/видео.html
The core settings were 5.3K 24 in the wide lens with a few 5.3K 60 scenes for slow motion. I also used the flat color profile so I could grade the footage in post production.
