Hi Caroline et al. Really enjoyed the walk so far and very much looking forward to the southern sectors. A vid on your planning and gear/food selections will be very interesting too. Good job, well done, thanks. Cheers ;-D
Hoping you might be able to answer how you both carried the camera equipment, and if it was comfortable. I carry a mirrorless camera (and an slr prior to that) but always struggled for a comfortable setup where the camera was still easily accessible. Noticed in the last few eps you have yours on a cord. Love the series and doing my E2E next year!
We'll try and do a video about the gear. As Caroline mentions, you are correct. She used a cord attached to twin carabiners to keep it secure and not swing around while being easy to remove and attach. We use cords because it doesn't rattle and make noise. I used a carabiner cord combo too but a bit different as the camera setup was heavier. There are some good off the shelf options designed to attach to the shoulder strap using a plate much like a tripod. But I felt these are too rigid for and puts strain on the pack webbing, but they would probably work well for a lighter mirrorless. Glad you like the series and hope to get the rest out asap.
Can't wait for season 2 :) my mum and I watch your episodes every week. She's a hiker, I'm not, but I like watching with her nevertheless :) love your presenting too, you're such a natural!
After covid is over and done with do you guys plan on continuing with different long distance thru hikes?? Loving the content guys!!! Can't wait for season 2 😁😁
Hi Zach, thank you! And yes we sure are! Planning another expedition hopefully in the next few months in Australia, we’ll announce it soon. Take a look at our dream list for filming here: www.gwotw.com/episodes
Thank you for your patience. We appreciate that people really love the track and the videos and are keen for more. We have so much footage and things to see that we realized it will end up being more episodes than we planned for. So with that in mind we've decided to start releasing some of the new episodes in November and then work on the rest, rather than wait until they're all done, which was the original plan.
Great series. Well done to you both. What are your thoughts on going solo for this one? Would you have felt comfortable re safety and navigation on your own?
How do you mail yourself resupply boxes? Does someone at your house have to do it while your on trail or, do you mail them and have them sit at a post office. Also do they have do be sent to a post office, is that the best location?
We'll be doing a video about this, but short story is that we sent all of our supply boxes beforehand to the accommodation where we planned to stay. You just need to call them to let them know. You can also send to post offices (like we did to Balingup) or tourist information centers (as we did for Pemberton). Most places are happy to hold boxes for hikers and do it all the time. Also put the date of your expected arrival and phone number on the box so they know if you are well overdue and they can remove the box. We saw several unclaimed boxes with no dates. Having someone post as you go is also a good option, so if you need to leave the track you don't have wasted boxes stuck along the way. Keep in mind that some places like Donnelly River Village only have one pickup of mail a week so you need to send the food drops a few weeks before you expect to arrive.
It may sound strange but I highly recommend a light trekking umbrella, which makes walking in light showers a lot more comfortable and worth the weight. Also a fly net for the south coast! Not much gear we didn't need as we packed well. At Helena I decided to leave my Gallbladder in Perth. ;)

Wondering how much longer to wait. Was loving these. Thanks for the update
We're still waiting for the second half. The best part of the track 😁
21st of November we'll be releasing ep 7 and then one every sat after
@@GreatWalksoftheWorld Woohhoooo! I can't wait. Your Bibb track videos are the best representation of the track there is on youtube.
Great series, I've hiked the Bib track a couple of times now, its good to see if from someone else's perspective. How far off are the next episodes?

👍🏻
Loving the series. What app are you using to track your progress (the one with your little face - just before a big hill) looks great?
Thanks Kate. The app is called Guthook and was recommended by another walker while on the trail.
@@GreatWalksoftheWorld oh great thanks a lot - I know they use that in the USA a lot great to know it covers a few of our trails too. cheers
Fantastic videos so far, but where are the next videos of the southern half? Don't leave me hanging :-) I've been waiting for 4 months now.....
