Can Restoration Hardware Become A Global Luxury Brand?

  • COVID-19 has dealt a harsh blow to countless retailers, many of which were already struggling. However, RH, formerly Restoration Hardware, is doing rather well. The company’s stock price had cratered in March 2020 and struggled in early April, as forced lockdowns endangered retail. But by December 2020, shares had rebounded and risen more than 110 percent since the beginning of the year. RH is now ambitiously trying to turn it into a global luxury brand providing an array of services.

      I think I fall into the demographic - except I’m only 23, though I wasn’t hugely impressed with their Cherry Creek location. It’s a beautifully done, massive shop. There were certainly some nice decor items and I was definitely a fan of some of the furniture. If I were buying completely based on how the store looked, they’d have my business immediately. I simply didn’t think the store was enough to get me to justify $200 per throw pillow which is all I went in for. The Internet is just too easy to find similar quality at 1/5th the price. If I had more money than I knew what to do with, I could see furnishing a house with their membership program - otherwise it’s not for me.

    • @yekeryeker4166
      @yekeryeker4166 3 года назад

      @@noneshere I don't know what "work" you mean? Do you mean farming with a hoe or moving bricks? Most people do meaningless jobs throughout their lives. Their goal is to keep this job until death. This is a force that solidifies the class and stops the progress of technology. There is also a small group of people doing meaningful work. Their goal is to let more people lose their current job, to allow classes to flow, and to liberate humanity. They once let half of the population lose their jobs as "farmers", and now they want to let tens of millions of people lose their jobs as "drivers", and they also want to let tens of millions of workers lose their jobs in digging for oil and repeatedly manufacturing the same thing. Automation and intelligence will continue to make more people lose those meaningless jobs. This small group of people includes scientists, entrepreneurs and capitalists.
      In fact, these people who have never "worked" are bringing meaning to this society and the world. A scientist’s discovery is more meaningful than the daydreams of ten million people. The creation of an entrepreneur is more meaningful than ten million numb people, and the liquidity that a capitalist brings to society is more meaningful than ten million consumers who buy MAGA hats.
      Musk has never digged for oil, but his contribution to energy and the environment is definitely more than any other digging for oil. Buffett did a lot of work when he was young, selling newspapers. His "work" time must not be as much as you, but the money you donated must not be as much as him.
      I like Lone's words very much, the only reason for the gap between rich and poor is thinking. I didn't quite understand this sentence. I was only when those who were afraid of losing their oil job for 40 years scolded Musk, saying that he was consolidating the class and widening the gap between rich and poor, and was unwilling to quit his job to learn new things and join new energy. understood. A group of people who solidify society are scolding innovators and scientific researchers and making them responsible?
      This year is a wonderful year. Like many people, I lost my job. Losing that job which creates no meaning. It does not contribute to social development. I will not be praised by posterity. I will be numb after I leave. The most meaningless job that will be a fool replaces next day. Following this is a new round of technological explosions, from online sales, cloud, genes, trams, autonomous driving, AI, 3D printing, and many other technologies that have emerged overnight. These are all related to the "harm" caused by the epidemic. The oil plunge has made the world more electrified, stores closed to make sales networked, people’s distance needs have made the world clouded faster, and viruses have made gene editing more important........
      God used the Black Death to end the stupid Dark Middle Ages, and now the new crown virus ended the modern Middle Ages. I am grateful for living in this age...

      That’s all that CNBC does. It’s ridiculous to ask why a stock is going up, everyone knows how supply and demand works. The difference between actual products and services however, is that supply and demand on the stock market is based on collective will, brought about by talking heads, insider trading, collusion and marketing B.S. This is why China will overtake America, they provide the world with real productive outputs.

    @Noneshere I don't know what "work" you mean?

      Consistent with french prononciation given that it's a french company. Last consonant is almost always silent and words that start with h also silence the h pronunciation (e.g. Hiver, haricot, heure).
