My comments to the Resør 2533: First when it came I was impressed of the flight case (included in the price): Hard, robust, quality feeling. My wife was there when I made the unboxing and after I opened the case her first impression was: "wow, it looks very professional", her second question was: "it should be very expensive, how much cost you?", and of course to avoid unnecessary discussions, I didn't answer and just said "enough" 😂. I took first the power supply out with a grey cable that goes to the mixer. The cable that goes to the power was not included but fortunately I had an spare one. 😉 When I took out the mixer from the case, my reaction was: "oh! It does not weight a lot", but it feels and looks expensive. The knobs were cold when I touched them, pure aluminium or metal (not sure). I set up the mixer with my technics MK7 and when turning the power supply on, it turns the mixer on. No other button needed in the mixer. Also something good is that you can screw the power supply cable and nothing will disconnect when mixing in gigs. I took my classic reference record St. Germain - Boulevard to feel that bass from the track "Deep in it" in my Dynaudio LYD8 speakers. I turned the channel 1 knob until the unity gain (around 2 pm) and "oh maria!!” goose bumps since first minute. A warm, fat, crisp, sound was going out. I could "see" the music. Normally with other mixers I didn't feel a huge stereo imaging and positioning of instruments but here, another story. When I turn the EQ knobs and Channel knobs, I thought "this feels like an audiophile amplifier not a DJ mixer". The torque on the knobs is quite high, you CAN'T be aggressive when blending tracks. These are the knobs I was looking for! Regarding VU Meters, holy hell! Vintage is the word to describe them. That orange warm light is special. It is not a led that just light all the VU from the bottom side, it is perfectly dispersed through the whole VU. And it has two of them! Both telling you how "healthy" is your whole output signal. Between them there is an interrupter that cancel the master isolator if you don't need it or if you want to return everything to normal when doing crazy isolator "moves". Very practical and no relevant popping sound when act- or deactivating. That brings me to the next topic ISOLATOR: Big knobs for them, the same as for the channels. Smooth as butter, precise as a Swiss knife and clear as water. I don't want to be technical but I can't really describe them. They are outstanding sounding pieces of engineering. But be careful cowboy, they could go also very loud! (+12 dB) Band EQs: Who needs 3 of them if you can have just 2 that makes the right work. The most important EQs are there: High and Low. Mid frequencies are not so sensible for human hearing when blending tracks (in my opinion). They are smaller knobs as the channels and ISO. Same principle as with the ISO, smooth, precise and clear. In comparison to other power supplies, this always maintain a normal temperature, not heating at all! The same for the mixer, no heating and no anormal smell coming out. So, I think if you read all here is because you really appreciate high quality mixers and Resør is one of them. Thanks to David and Aleks for the mixer and the very personal customer "service" when you have a question. If you have more comments for me, let's discuss!
Thanks for the review! I got some additional questions. Currently have the Radius 2V myself, and this thing looks stunning :) 1. Did you experience any downsides of this mixer compared to the 2V? 2. You said the torque on the knobs is quite high, is this just for the volume knobs or also for the EQ/isolator knobs? 3. Also, is there a switch at the back for phono/line input? Couldn't really find any backpanel photos online. 4. How does the knob work for switching between channels? Do you turn it smoothly or does it 'click' between the different channels? Thanks in advance! :)
@@snfddrs7544 hi ! Here my answer: 1- No downsides so far. There are big differences of course for example VU meters that show output signal, in the Radius 2V you see cue and master signal. But I don´t think it is a downside. 2- All knobs have the same torque. I prefer that higher torque as in the Radius 2V / 4 3- Yes, there is a switch for phono and line input for each channel. 4- Just move the switch from left to right, they turn very smoothly but If you have 4 channels mixer, maybe you will not use them just if you have more than 4 sources. I hope it helps you ;)
