Dylan R yeah same I was like my goodness damn how many you need lol alot of no oil changes haha that oil be like charcoal now lol waited this long all black and just nasty
Alright, my sticker made the video! haha "Super Star" I was just about to say, I think you should do a before and after video, and then you said you were gonna clean it!
erieschl yes same lol like Damn how much shit can u need or should have thrown away I can't stand it I'm very organized about things like that I can not work on any vehicle until that's straight first cause for one ocd and second if when put tools back up I wanna know make sure I didn't leave a tool under hood of car vehicle I worked on or lose a tool at all just everything has it's place and everything I can't stand how much mess and junk laying around like that it definitely needs to be gone through and throw a lot that shit away things don't need or all those packages that are empty throw it away omg
I had no idea I was so professional until this video ! Everybody was giving me grief over the apparent random organization. I do need more stickers, and oil filters I haven't installed. Oh, hey, I have an extra multi-meter if you want it for your empty case. No leads for it but that makes it much more accurate. Great vid. LOL !
You made my day! I’m not a mechanic im a refrigeration tech and I have 4 tool bags 3 tool boxes plus plastic milk cartons full of, well, all kinds of stuff. I’ve been stressing for 30 yrs how to organize it all. Nothing stays organized. Ugh. But your video made me feel good about my mess. I’m just as organized as you! I now feel like a professional. LoL
Love the walk through. I am sorting dads tokls i inherited after he passed 5 years ago. Man did he have some junk but he also had tools we didn't know he had. Watching your video makes me chuckle seeing he wasn't the only obe who had a bunch of who knows what. Thanks for lifging my spirits while going through this stuff. Stay safe.
I was having a pretty crappy day. Till I watched this. Thanks for making me feel better about my Boxes yes Boxes because when they get really messy just buy another one and start filling it up Yay. Jason touched it it must have unspeakable value LOL. Give that wrench its own drawer.
Your jaw would drop if you saw a U.S. military mechanic's tool box. They have the cleanest, most precisely organized tool boxes you'll ever see, and they get used around the clock, every day.
I always keep a hatchet in my toolbox, but I'd never thought about a carpenter's hammer. That's a really good idea--the claw end would work so much better than a trim tool.
When I traded in my craftsman box for my Matco box I had it sitting off to the side waiting on them to come pick it up. I drove in an old Subbie with brake issues. I went to stop the car in my bay and the brakes failed and ran right into that box I had already sold... luckily the snap on guy didn't notice (bought that box used off him hence the wrong branded box). Also luckily the car was a used car owned by the store so no one got mad about it. Also I got to spend a week cutting out all the rusted parts underneath that POS and rebuilding literally everything that wasn't the frame because apparently subarus are gold and 100 people wanted to buy it while I was working on it.
One boss had 3 big boxes (tool boxes) totally filled with low budget tools. He would just keep pulling wrenches until there were no more. When the drawers were empty and the tools were on the floor he had his kid separate and clean them. The guy was really pretty good, a bit dated but good.
I didn’t know what to make of this one, by three minutes in I was laughing my ass off. I thought he snuck into a buddies garage and was publicly giving him crap…then realized I had a few identical “tools” in my chest.😂 Thanks for the laugh! Shared & subscribed👍🏼
Random coilovers wrenches, broken tools you never got around to turning in for a new one and lots of pennies...this is the most important video to the next generation of techs and mechanics 👍
Some day I hope to have a nice setup like this. I'm still trying to build up my supplies. I like how you have a diverse selection of oil filters. I'm taking notes here, tomorrow I'm heading over to store to pick up some multicolor zip ties and oil filters. I just love how you organised your misc bolt drawer... awesome idea!
Thanks I feel 70% better about my own tool box organization. One box snapon . My old craftsman box I keep generic stuff in it. Sometimes I mentally cringe when I look thru it becuz I always intend to be super organized but it's only semi organized. I'll probably move all my various tape to my locker soon to reclaim one drawer. You've inspired me thanks. Bill
Just subscribed and I really enjoy the presentation on your channel. Getting to the point EARLY with visual explanation seems to be an exception rather than a norm for many RUclips "personalities. A personal note...an organizational accessory that I have been using for about 4 years. Neodymium magnets (Amazon) in various diameters and shapes to improve my tool security and organization. Yesterday I saw a fabricated solution using these "rare earth"magnets called Tool Widget, an extremely inexpensive solution. I will be trying some soon as the designed holder actually seems less expensive than purchasing the magnets and "Rube Gold-berging" the tool itselfI I have epoxied some very small round neodymium magnets to the center of the handle on my gear wrenches and when working I can lay down a Costco micro fiber towel on the fender or an engine component. The strength of the Neomags has got to be experienced to understand the impressive holding power of these magnets. My 9/16" stayed holding on ...through the cloth for about 100 miles before it was removed. How I know this is of no consequence. Thanks for the channel
Being a fellow VW tech, I know the importance of gen vw awards, vw IQ and the like. Unspeakable value, oh indeed. Those awards gave the power to fix a few problem children, as well as a hefty pay increase.
So I was really looking for how to organize after driving myself crazy, making slide layouts/powerpoints of all my drawers, etc., and still being frustrated...started to watch and was like "what the heck?" then started cracking up. Seriously funny stuff!
I was a parts guy at a VW dealership and one of the techs kept his boxes and work station just like this. when he left they found at least 20 filters that had never been installed as well as a shock that he only installed one of, and a whole slew of other parts he didn't install. it was crazy.
Hi there Humble mechanic. I am a vw fan. I like your help that you give out. Thanks. But, today was nice, I learned that you are funny as hell. Excellent video. You obviously stay so busy that you just don't have time to organize! And when a pro mechanic does get a break.... it's time to vape, not straighten up ! Be good. Thanks
I love this video. Makes me laugh a good amount. Was showing it to some of the guys at my shop and they were laughing too. Even subscribed to your page because of it haha
Nice! I have my bottom 2 drawers organised just like that. Maybe one day i'll get around to organizing the whole box. Where do you get your gloves, do they sell single gloves or do you buy a whole pair and sell or trade the one?
This was awesome. After chuckling at the satire it began to slightly stress me out. I feel like this is a foreshadowing of my efforts to get organized. I should just give up now.
Man, my trunk looks just like your tool box. Loving the stickers. You and I would get along. I can't wait to get a real tool chest or create my own sweet trunk storage. Thanks for the laughs.
What is the Sonic part number for this set up? (with tools of course). Love the line when your holding the self starting deck screw: "helps hold on a fender........"
I laughed my ass off the whole entire time! Like a train wreck I couldn't look away! Subbed up and happy to share your brand of insanity. Hilarious brother! ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing so much of your knowledge and being a solid dude! All your videos are 🔥 and a LOT of help, especially for someone like me. Cheers Brother, stay well and keep up the incredible work in the shop as well as on here for us noob tubers haha!
Very funny! Loved the video. I actually have a couple of Craftsman rollways that are kind of like this. Top drawer is the whatever drawer, bottom drawer is the bigger whatever drawer, and a variation of combinations in between. But like you said your other box is much better as is the box/now bag that I use is really much better. Mostly due to the fact that the bag/box needs to be really portable and as a result way smaller in storage space while still doing about 90% of the jobs I get; the rollaway has things for the larger jobs and home/shop projects but it's a place to store some of the all the too many tools I have:). Everything has a place and I can tell if something's missing once I put the box/bag contents back together but the roll away boxes are another matter.
Excellent video! Better than most of the videos the OCD service technicians that think they are mechanics post You know the ones that have a $1000 in tool organizers inside a harbor freight tool box. Thank you for taking the time to make your video and share with us!
Loved the video. Great sense of humor. How can you not appreciate a guy with a bottle of personal lubricant prominently displayed on top of his tool box? Lol.
I have the same box. Matco MB7525 with the same hutch, but I have the diamond plate option. Havent seen many of them around but it is built like a tank.
Great vid man!!! I know it was made jokingly but some stuff is true like the random parts and the hard silicone etc etc. Just also wanted to say thanks you got me out of a jam the other day, ive never even seen the trick of holding a timing belt on with a big paper clip, worked mint!!!
+Techman 48917 lol the 2 small hard filters were from my wife's Nissan truck. One is for my Passat, the little one is from an oil four wheeler. The other one is a random wrong ordered part. I think they have all made appearances in videos. Lol
Every time he said "another oil filter you didn't install" I laughed my ass off.
+Dylan R :)
Dylan R me too haha. Also when he said Jason from Engineering Explained. He taught me everything I know. Hahaha
how does every garage have one?
Dylan R yeah same I was like my goodness damn how many you need lol alot of no oil changes haha that oil be like charcoal now lol waited this long all black and just nasty

Alright, my sticker made the video! haha "Super Star"
I was just about to say, I think you should do a before and after video, and then you said you were gonna clean it!
Excellent channels ✌️
ChrisssFixxx! Awesome to know you watch the other popular mechanics on YT
Should do a "how to super clean your toolbox"
Unspeakable value! Hahaha, that part had me cracking up.
Engineering Explained thanks dude. I'm pumped to see your vid today. #eeismyhero
did anyone else get a huge amount of anxiety when he opened that hutch
erieschl THANK YOU
erieschl only a little
erieschl I couldn't even watch the rest
OMG !! Yes I did but my box at home looks like that :(
erieschl yes same lol like Damn how much shit can u need or should have thrown away I can't stand it I'm very organized about things like that I can not work on any vehicle until that's straight first cause for one ocd and second if when put tools back up I wanna know make sure I didn't leave a tool under hood of car vehicle I worked on or lose a tool at all just everything has it's place and everything I can't stand how much mess and junk laying around like that it definitely needs to be gone through and throw a lot that shit away things don't need or all those packages that are empty throw it away omg

One of the most honest tool box reviews ever!

Any mechanic that has that many Bell’s Beer stickers, is obviously a technical guru. Great video!
LOL, Thanks

Dont forget the dent from when Dave crashed into it (every workshop has a `Dave`)
+MeesterDash hahah. I've seen it happen a few times.
My local workshop is named "Daves Repair"
When I traded in my craftsman box for my Matco box I had it sitting off to the side waiting on them to come pick it up. I drove in an old Subbie with brake issues. Seriously though. A real mechanic wouldn't have a misdiagnosis drawer. He would have one hell of an EBAY store.
+SKMC69 Hahahha. I like that better.
That made me feel a lot better about my toolbox.
Random stuff in the tool box put in an unorganised way, this is how I can tell your a professional mechanic.
+Matin Foxer I'm glad that really speaks for itself. :)
One boss had 3 big boxes (tool boxes) totally filled with low budget tools. He would just keep pulling wrenches until there were no more. When the drawers were empty and the tools were on the floor he had his kid separate and clean them. The guy was really pretty good, a bit dated but good.

We looking tools or stickers
Where did he get those large multi colored zip ties, mine are so much smaller. I'm impressed,, no jealous.
Thanks I feel 70% better about my own tool box organization. One box snapon . My old craftsman box I keep generic stuff in it. Thanks Tim. Since this video came out, I picked up some Tool Widgets. They are pretty rad.
Best one yet, so reminds me of the rubbish we all keep in our boxes. oil filters were the best and miss diagnosis draw so funny.
great video, had me cracking up with the lost 10mm sockets
That was priceless Charles, very funny. "this thing...."
HAHA Thanks. This was a really fun video
Being a fellow VW tech, I know the importance of gen vw awards, vw IQ and the like. Unspeakable value, oh indeed. Those awards gave the power to fix a few problem children, as well as a hefty pay increase.
I was hoping for pointers on how I should go about organizing my box, but what I got was so much better.
I LOVE THE OIL FILTER PART, DUDE YOU ARE IT
I know this is way late .. but this is the best video I have seen in a long time ... stay real stay humble ..
Rock on!!! 👍
Hilarious video. My favorite line,
" Plastic weld, because, you know, you've broken a lot of stuff."
Best toolbox tour ever.
I’m not sure how I’ve never seen this video before but pure hilarity and awesomeness. 😂🤣😂
Haha thanks. It was fun
So I was really looking for how to organize after driving myself crazy, making slide layouts/powerpoints of all my drawers, etc., and still being frustrated...started to watch and was like "what the heck?" then started cracking up. Seriously funny stuff!

After watching your tour of my box, I had to subscribe. Thanks!
Thank you. :)
Well no one will question his honesty.
I was a parts guy at a VW dealership and one of the techs kept his boxes and work station just like this. when he left they found at least 20 filters that had never been installed as well as a shock that he only installed one of, and a whole slew of other parts he didn't install. it was crazy.

Best tool box tour on RUclips!
+Nathan Wilson lol thank you.
Hi there Humble mechanic. I am a vw fan. I like your help that you give out. Thanks. But, today was nice, I learned that you are funny as hell. Excellent video. This makes me happy to know I am not the only one with a box like this.
+David Johnston :)
Nice! I have my bottom 2 drawers organised just like that. Maybe one day i'll get around to organizing the whole box. Where do you get your gloves, do they sell single gloves or do you buy a whole pair and sell or trade the one?
LOL, I like like to do trades. :)
+HumbleMechanic
Hey Charles, I think this is my favorite video of yours and perhaps the best video I've seen this year!
Awesome Massey Ferguson sticker you're allright, for an automotive tech.
Well done "the jumper lead set I let the smoke out of" got me!
This was awesome. After chuckling at the satire it began to slightly stress me out. I feel like this is a foreshadowing of my efforts to get organized. I should just give up now.

Lmao!! Unspeakable value, Your definitely winning the sticker game. Good video, Funny!
My dad's workbench at his shop looks like this and it drives me nuts. His box isn't too far off.
Man I was expecting some top notch organization ideas, but I have gladly settled for top notch entertainment.
Excellent video! Better than most of the videos the OCD service technicians that think they are mechanics post You know the ones that have a $1000 in tool organizers inside a harbor freight tool box. Thank you for taking the time to make your video and share with us!
When did you film my coworker's tool box. Spot on 🤣
Hahahha
Loved the video. Great sense of humor. How can you not appreciate a guy with a bottle of personal lubricant prominently displayed on top of his tool box? Lol.

Wait! Was that my box? I recognized most of that unfortunately! Very funny!
Hahaha.
That's awesome you have a great divide sticker!
The amount of effort to destroy any kind of organization. Also this was a serious search😂
This is the best toolbox tour I've seen in a long time 😂😂
best video ever
Love the stickers/comments
I bet Jason went crazy after seeing that.
I want to see his tool box.
THE STICKERS XD and the "oil filters that never got installed". #1 life goal, big, full, clean toolbox.
5:39 Is where I realize he is clearly cleaning his box haha
hilariously creative!!!
That box is jacked up hopefully for more than April fools day. Hope I never see them cars with the non changed oil filters lol.
+Techman 48917 lol the 2 small hard filters were from my wife's Nissan truck. One is for my Passat, the little one is from an oil four wheeler.
The other one is a random wrong ordered part. I think they have all made appearances in videos. Lol
Charles is a savage with the vape jokes LMAO
+peter morgan hahah vw lyfe 😂😂
I just realized that I also have a framing hammer, wood plane and old hard drive in my auto tool box.
That's not weird at all >.>
"when you left over hardware, its just means that you really did well job better than the factory" so me HAHAH lol
