I gotta hard disagree with this - Slaves have gotten a bunch of releases recently. Including all the Darkoath, Abraxia and terrain earlier this year. Last year they had a near full range update. This is a fine release.

My understanding is that all of the index Armies of renown and regiments are all still legal, they're just not reprinted in the book.

Not in the book. They’ve moved it all to a QR code because they update them almost quarterly now.
