  • Middle August run at normal flows. I like this right line that is really conservative. I have ran this rapid a lot of times and I'm unsure what the "correct line" is, but this has always been a really comfortable and easy move for me.

    Yah
I almost emailed my drift boat on OH Shit Rock , at the top of the rapid , when 45MPH
X wind ripped up out of nowhere , in a thunderstorm.!!!
    Good Memories from the 80s.
I had the presents of mind to do a spin off maneuver, at the last second!!!!
Thanks for the camera work , it really took me back.
Been through that rapid 50 times or more . But I always remember that one time!!!😅

Rafting rules to live by: 1. ALWAYS keep your boat pointed downstream 2. ALWAYS back row to slow everything down 3. ALWAYS point your boat at hazards and pull away 4. ALWAYS “take the tongue”

I disagree with your logic. I think that thinking works if you are in a drift boat, or running class 2 and below.
I would say 80 percent of moves can be pushed or pulled, 10 percent have to be pushed or down stream ferried, and 10 percent have to be pulled.

Looks like you entered at the right of the knuckles/W . Correct?

I like entering far right, it’s easy to hug the shore as you come around the entrance corner and be set up. It takes the flip rocks completely out of the equation. This is just one of the many ways you can attack this rapid.

Fine camera work! Are you using a gimbaled camera? What brand of gimbal? Is it waterproof?

I don’t use a gimbal, that is the GoPro 9 stabilizer. It takes away 20 percent of your image to make it look smooth

I'm going to try this in a packraft. I'm only worried that those waves hitting me from the side could knock me over

You should have no problem. Inexperienced people do it all the time in poorly designed duckies. Also the swim wouldn't be that bad if you ended up flipping.

With all that screaming I would have been severely tempted to throw her overboard.

That is my 3 year old son having a great time in the rapid
