Wow! That is crazy. Like a horde of never ending zombies ha ha ha. On a serious note, does anyone know if catching a bass near the spawning bed will make it abandon protecting the fry? Or will it spring back into action if handles properly and released rather quickly?
They won't abandon the nest they will spring right back into action. The problem is while they are away from the nest the predators can devoir the eggs and fry quite quickly.

I can only imagine what the bass population would be without the gobies eating the eggs. Like the zebra mussel the have taken over the waters.
It's crazy, I have footage of a pair on a bed and as the female lays eggs the gobies are eating them :(
maybe try putting bait fish traps out to reduce the goby population ?
