We moved to Superior 7 years ago. Absolutely love it here… Arizona trail runs right past here. Surrounded by National Forest. Trails everywhere. Nice neighbors. Great Main Street. Now don’t everyone move here!!!!😀 Just kidding. Lots of empty houses to buy and fix up.
I'm moving there in the next couple months (cross my fingers), and I agree. Main Street looks a lot different two years later, and like another town completely since I took pictures last about the time you moved there. Hopefully all the beige houses stay down in Gold Canyon.
This was really good Jeff. Thanks for taking us along and sharing your journey. So sad to see how people are vandalizing the State Parks and rest areas. Good job.
Old stomping grounds...grew up in Mammoth. Great view of the Galiuro Mountains, Sombrero Butte, and Table Top! Should have stopped at La Casita restaurant!
Love the driving tours! It was so eery not to see a soul in Miami and superior, I love little historic towns like that and hope we can make a road trip soon! 👍🏻
Thanks for the tour. I grew up in the Globe-Miami area right outside of Claypool. Went to the Bullion Plaza school in 5th and 6th grade and graduated from Mismi High school. We used to go on field trips to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum and I loved it. It is one of my favorite places to be, ever. I moved up north since then and don’t get back too often so it was great to see what things look like now. Not too much different. I miss the place.
I discovered your channel by accident. My mom was born in Miami, Az. (1933). Her grandfather work at the big mine. They lived in the shadows of the mine on Live Oak. I discovered that my Mom has a few family members at the Memorial Park in Globe. Thanks for the tour, it was very interesting for me.
I went to meteor crater, petrified forest, Monument valley, and grand canyon on the same trip in July 2008. I was only 10 years old at the time. It took 3 days to do that and go home.
Lavern haha it’s only 45 minutes from mesa still tons to do! Roosevelt lake is close the pinal mountains are close too for camping and has nice restaurants. Slow paced but very warm and diverse :)
Cottonwood trees are my absolute favorite thing about Arizona. Where can I camp with my travel trailer underneath if possible cottonwood trees or very nearby. There is no better State than Arizona.
My I literally dream of retiring in Az...I blame my parents for vacationing there every year. We drove Apache Trail in the late 60's (what a thrill)!!! Carls bad caverns...white sands....petrified forest...Tonto national forest. My parents would drive in Juarez to buy booze ...so cheap
Yes, compared to all California has to offer, not worth the gas money for a visit. And who needs to have their kids killed by tarantula hawks, foot long centipedes , lethal tiny bark scorpions, velvet ants(cow killers), Gila Monsters not to mention all the different species of rattlesnakes. You're way better off going to Yosemite. Or Portland. Or Seattle. Lot more adrenalin pumping action going on in those places. Garden Grove beats Sedona any day.

Thank you for yet another great video Jeff! I’ll be heading out to visit AZ Friday, really looking forward to it because of your content.

The house at the end, that’s where they filmed U Turn. JLo’s house.
Thank You Jeff
We are planning on driving thru Globe and Superior in a few months in our classic 1967 Porsche coupe, loved your video! Thanks.
Thank you Jeff for the road trip! Would love to see more if you can?
Thanks...enjoyed the journey!
Grew up in Oracle, Arizona. Went to school at SMHS(San Manuel). Magma Copper mine was the bread and butter. Best of times!
Hay thank you for showing my home town or Superior, I live in Gold Canyon now

Enjoyed the roadtrip!!
2 years ago I passed by
beautiful places
Thanks for the tour Jeff! I can't stand how people could thoughtlessly JUNK up a beautiful place, or ANY place that does not belong them!
Keep posting Jeff
A trip around the 'world'
after Superior Florence Jct. Then Florence :) etc.

Living in Arizona Now
Sorry to tell you, but that's the way downtown Miami looks every day even NOT in a pandemic :-)
I was there in 2006, and it looked exactly like this.
I was going to say the same. Miami downtown has been fairly ghostly for quite awhile now.
I love when you get out on the road. I haven't made it to those towns yet. I was all over AZ in early June but staying home again for Covid in Cali 😒
Like Superior the views are awesome
Excellent video - kewl Arizona history !
Charles Heller yeah really interesting history up there with the Apache Indians and miners
My family used to own acres and acres of land before it became Arizona between Globe and Tucson and it was given to the state for the highway!
We’ll have to make that trip once we move to Tucson. 😎
Tucson has no vacancy. I hear California is nice.
Awe me and both sides of my family are from Globe-Miami :) it’s the best!
Lavern haha it’s only 45 minutes from mesa still tons to do! Roosevelt lake is close the pinal mountains are close too for camping and has nice restaurants. Slow paced but very warm and diverse :)
That building at the arboretum is not a house it is a Castle hand built in the early 1800 or 1900 The man hand built it for his Daughter
During the warmer months, it is very quiet.
Awesome!

I love these tours. That neighborhood in Globe-Miami reminded me of an Aviano Italy neighborhood. Thanks! BTW, did I miss it? Didn't see any people.
I Always hit the like button.

Where was the flyover at the beginning shot?
Best dam food ever is in haden.
"Boyce" Thompson Arboretum
What places near gila river resort and casino???
Ever seen Uturn?
😂
should have stopped at el rey
I’d be interesting to see a tour of real ghost towns in Az
kind of strange to see them all so eerily empty.
@Lavern yeah like what,,, 30 years
@Lavern When I first moved to Phoenix in 2005, I went to visit Superior just because I love U-Turn!
So sad with COVID going on with everything empty. 😢
I like a lot of your videos, but you got a quick like for being in the passenger seat while doing this.
Looks like you have some poor roads in the area. I’m a motorcyclist and I’d be concerned to ride some of those roads.
railroad goes to san manuel
catclaw
go all the way to globe, and dont stop at leonard pauls,, you dont make sense
should have stopped at leonard pauls wtf
Please pan around slower ..too fast makes it hard to see what you are showing and makes me nauseas.
My honest opinion of this video was horrible. There is so much more that was wrong and so much more history could have given. Sorry.
Arizona is so boring.
Good, stay away.
@@bassage13 if I wanted any lip from you I'd rattle my zipper.
