「Synopsis」

That damn boy (🤴🤴)should’ve never been the king! From the very beginning I could tell he had a lot of problems following the rules, he was so disrespectful to the King’s (his father )mother, from the moment he entered the palace with the queen (his mother)! His mother never held him accountable nor did she ever teach him how to be respectful toward others, especially to his mother! He wanted to be the only one in power. I would have preferred a different ending 🤨 like someone else taking the throne or something 🤦🏾♀️😞🤦🏾♀️😞
The movie is based on actual historical people. The king becomes the first emperor of China due to his conquest of various other kingdoms. It’s an interpretation of his formative years. They are implying that the moms actions are key to his attaining his status. He was known for being paranoid and not respecting conventions and ruthlessness.
Like as if the rest of the western world (historically speaking) is any better. Even now, no one's perfect (except for God).
In history, the king is have love-hate relationship with his mother. On this drama, his mother described like a wise n smart queen or empress dowager who secretly help her son to eliminate Lu Buwei and Lao Ai. But in history, she is scheming, heartless and have immoral behaviour with having affairs with so many man (lu buwei and Lao ai). This make a gossip that the king Qin is not an actual the former king's son, but he is lu buwei's son and that make him suffered a huge humiliation even his minister questioned him if he have rights to be the king of Qin since he is Lu Buwei's son. That make the king Qin become ruthless and paranoid to get hold to his throne as people and his ministry doubted his status as the king's son (even the gossip that said he is Lu buwei's son are still get spreading across the country and make his people mocked at him and about her mother immoral deeds). And after he become a king, his mother still continue her immoral behaviour with have an affair with a fake young eunuch named Lao Ai that Lu Buwei sent to her as a gift to served her sexually (Lu Buwei use Lao Ai to get control the empress dowager) and she even get pregnant with him and secretly have 2 children with him. This bring another humiliation for the king, that his mother doing immoral things with Lao Ai and being disloyal to his late king father. She even help her lover, Lao Ai, to build a troops and joined a coup with Lu Buwei to eliminate the king, her own son. Because of her immoral deeds and help Lu Buwei and Lao Ai doing a coup. He banish his mother to cold palace and killed his half brothers (Lao Ai's child with his mother)
This mother and son is just a mess.

afterwards *Liu Bang proclaimed himself Emperor of the new Han Dynasty*
