I have so much respect for Özil. I'm also a Turk from Germany and Özil played for my city for some time. He is a great person and has always been doing charities without bragging about it. He did a photograph with Erdoğan who is simply the president of the Country he still has alot of ties too. Merkel also meets with Erdoğan and other German players had pictures with Putin yet they acted like its the President of North Korea. He didn't perform great in the Worldcup but still among the better players.. But the media already blamed him and trust me all social media like instagram, Twitter Facebook was flooded with racist comments by germans there was even a German politician who said "Goatfucker go back to Anatolia". It got even more bad because Özil wrote the retirement statement in English and the Germans didn't expect that their racist behavior gets exposed to the world. Also he got no respect from arsenal fans so I'm happy he is in Turkey now even if im Galatasaraylı. Özil deserves everything good he gets
