POP POP!! Our Lord and Savior Magnitude is here. And before it gets inundated: if you ever stop and think that he looks familiar, he was in the first Harry Potter movie as the kid calling the Quidditch game. The actor is quite British and has maybe the coolest fucking name ever: Luke Youngblood.
He's also an amazing singer - I don't know if it was him I saw as a kid, when I went to the stage version of Lion King in London, but he _does_ appear in the underappreciated tv series musical "Galavant" and it's hilarious!
I can see that tho. Like when Pierce was teaching him to sneeze like a man, they’re living together, the Old White Man Says thing. Troy and Abed is way better, but I can see Troy and Pierce.
@@benign_oracle8875 it's one of the strengths of the old network model vs the current streaming/binge model where seasons are written and filmed like long movies. Writers could adapt the show and characters to their strengths and chemistry - and audience reaction - as the show went on and make something special.
Pierce paired well with every character in the show, at least in his original form. He was the guy who was out of touch with modernity, but had wisdom to share, wisdom applicable to all of the younger people in whatever situations they found themselves, because he'd lived a crazy life and done so many things. Then, for whatever reason, they decided to just turn him into a 1-dimensional crazy and malicious person.
@@fakecubed Part of that was that Harmon intended for Pierce to be the "villain" of season 2, hence why he becomes a real jerk in this recent streak of episodes down to the season finale. I just love how defined Community's characters are. Shirley and Annie kinda took a back seat but all the hijinks the other characters were up to felt very much distinctively them.
The actress for Paige's friend and Alison Brie are very good friends irl and even had a cover band together for a while along with Julianna Guill of Friday the 13th

One of the best comedy episodes about bad allyship ever. Great commentary by you guys. Can't wait to see what you think of where the story goes this season.
The crew behind the show have denied it, but some fans have argued that the reason why Jeff hates BNL it's because he is the "protagonist" of Community, and BNL sang the theme song for Community's rival show The Big Bang Theory. Of course, that wouldn't explain why the rest of characters like BNL.
To clarify the "rivalry," they had the same time slot, but there was really no competition in the ratings; TBBT had about 10 times the audience of Community. There is a more overt shot at TBBT in the background of the season finale episode.
For the lack of Shirley, I’ve noticed that usually one of the seven gets the least to do for each episode, as in this episode for instances there were a good number of pairs/groups (Troy&Abed, Britta with Annie, Pierce and Jeff were separate but Jeff had Chang and Duncan and Pierce was with the Britta storyline a little) I think it’s just a writing thing, they had these three/four plots and maybe just couldn’t fit Shirley in them decently, that or the actor/actress is busy that week so they write them mostly out which I think is usually the case for Allison Brie as she was working on Mad Men too
I didn't even realise Andy Dick was such a controversial figure. He was sentenced to 90 days in prison for sexual battery just last month, and the month before that was arrested for burglary. Among a myriad of other charges he's plead guilty to or been found guilty of. How the hell is he only in prison for 90 days.
He's groped so many people both men and women and celebrities and normal people. I heard he pulled a 17 year old girls top down to expose her. He's flashed so many people. He used the n word while performing once. Also he's kinda why Phil Hartman's wife got addicted to drugs and killed him. And when he was confronted about it, he was pretty proud of it and bragged about it. Jon Lovitz beat him up for that. He's just a mess of a person

The fractious relationship between Chevy Chase and the rest of the cast is a bit over stated here. He didn’t have a bad relationship with all of the cast, and the rest of the cast says that he was great with the crew. It was mostly Dan Harmon, Donald Glover and a bit with Joel McHale. The rest of the cast say he would say inappropriate stuff sometimes but that they had good individual relationships with him. Joel said they all felt like he didn’t wanna be there. He liked the scripts but he wasn’t happy about his character getting more and more bigoted and that the TV work schedule wasn’t his cup of tea either. Dan Harmon said many things he wrote for Pierce he heard Chevy say, and that Chevy was jealous of how funny Donald Glover was.
Damn that librarian was hot. Troy and Abed are the best team up. Early on the creators were going to put Troy and Pierce together, but the dynamic worked better for Troy and Abed.
Dan harmon whould put real things on the writing of the show, but dramatisized and made funny. Jay chandrashekar a regular director of the show said, chevy was also having problems with pain medication addiction
Head canon can be whatever you want it to be. My personal head canon is that Pierce isn't actually racist and homophobic, but is rather a deeply closeted homosexual who uses gay jokes as a cover and who says racist things because when he was a kid being racist was the only way he could win his father's approval. Also in my head canon, Greendale is closely monitored by the US military as a result of the "Classified Phoenix" fiasco. As the show goes on, there are more and more little details, gags, side and background characters that pop up on campus that suggest a military presence is somewhere nearby
