You no I was thinking 🤔. If you ever went to snow runner and built logging equipment for that game or the hole mud runner series and was able to cut down trees and sell them lol you would single handedly shut down logging for farming simulator because you built the logging side of farming simulator

You know where I can DL a New Holland L334 mod? Because according to my list of skid loaders, this L334 is the biggest skid loader I can find anywhere. And it's close to the right size to work as a team with the Mecalac 15MWR wheeled excavator.
Also a “cheaty” way would be immediately after cutting the tree down tab over to the vehicle and hit the locking straps as soon as it falls on the truck. The hit box on the locking straps is pretty large. This would help pin it in position while you cut pieces off and lay the largest on the trailer.

The reason why people are saying the economy for wood crashes is because the sawmill fills up to a certain point, and when you hit the sell point while the mill is full, it will eat your whole load but only pay you for what it has got room for. It processes very slow which is why you start getting like $1000 per load, because that's all it has room for. I've seen people say if you buy the building you can process wood faster, but then you have to mess around with the lumber it produces
Hey FDR, I think why logs may only be selling for ~$100 once you have already sold a bunch to the sawmill is because the sawmill is considered a production building that can only process so many logs per hour. I am not sure if it is a bug or a feature but when the sawmill is full it still "accepts" all the of the logs but only credits you for what space is available in the mill. This also happens with the carpentry building, you can keep putting logs in so they disappear from your screen but you can only ever have a maximum of 30k L at any time.
So what I think is happening is so many logs are being sold to the sawmill its internal capacity is full and the amount of logs it can process by the time you get back is the what you are getting paid. So even though your whole trailer of logs disappear when you sell you are probably only getting paid for a few hundreds liters more or less. A single full grown spruce tree is 8200L for anyone who didn't know and the sawmill capacity is around 100k L or about 12 full grown spruce trees.
I haven't ran into the selling "bug" myself as I bought the sawmill on my playthrough and just process everything into furniture but if I am right then an easy solution would be to just edit the XML files for the sawmill to hold a higher capacity.

When the facility gets full the price goes way down for wood.
The sawmill can only store 110000 or 120000 liters of wood because it is a production factory which means it has a capacity for how much can be sold to it if you don't own the production itself. Like you said though the biomass plant will take unlimited capacity of wood though so you can still sell at will.

No, people are just idiots. The economy doesn't crash after so much wood, the sawmill or the carpentry has a fill limit. If they are almost full they will take your entire load for 15L wood and pay you for what they needed.
On Erlengrat, I've sold around 160 trees already just to the biomass itself
