The fur baby’s entrance! 😁 I love the sound of those toenails on hardwoods and such a happy bounce in the walk 🤗 Hope you have a wonderful holiday season! I’m starting a new job next Friday and will be on here even less but wanted to touch base with my tiny circle. Love you and those fur kids ☀️♥️
Hey sister Teri! So good hearing from you. I saw you did a live video recently though had missed it. Need to catch up further. I'm honored you consider me at all part of your circle. Yes, we had fun for these holidaze, the furz and I. I'm sure we'll be in touch before then, though either way, all the best with the new gig when the time comes. Thanks much for being here and much love your way! -Carm & 😸🐱
Hi Carm, Nice to get another video from you ! I enjoyed the Halloween decorations your friend displayed. Always nice to see what your listening to, and watching during our favorite time of year. I am a big MST3K fan,and also of Rifftrax, I love their humor ! I will be watching my favorite Universal old Hollywood movies ( The Mummy, Frankenstein ), along with some traditional favorites...such as Charlie Brown, "Woman In White", and my Val Lewton boxed set collection (Cat People, etc.) And for some comic relief.."Young Frankenstein". I'm reading Anne Rice "The Servant Of The Bones". I love this time of year, and it's going by so fast ! Have fun ! BOO ! Cindy
Happy Halloween to you, Cindy! You bet, we're all decked out here. It was fun getting this all together. I even forgot to show a few things as I rushed a bit. Oh yes, I remember you saying you're a big MST3K fan too. Very nice selection of your own favorites there. I haven't seen 'Young Frankenstein', and that Charlie Brown in a long time. Really, am trying to soak up the season as much as possible...our own winters here often start around Thanksgiving. Thanks as always for being here. A delightfully ghoulish day your way! 🎃👻-Carm
Hi, Carm. I just read my Billboard Bulletin (email) tonight and there was a full page memory of Gershon Kingsley. It reads "We honor the memory and life of the multi-talented and creative Gershon Kingsley on the centennial year (born October 28, 1922) of his birth. His multi-facetted career spanned many decades from the electronic music of "Popcorn" to Broadway, and his work provided inspiration and joy to all." His album Much Silence is one of my all-time favorites.
Hey Thomas, Oh very nice! I didn't realize he would have been 100. He didn't leave us that long ago either. Oh yes, it was hearing a song from 'Much Silence' on Musical Starstreams years ago that got me into him. Gorgeous stuff. Thanks much for sharing that, and for tuning in. -Carm
Happy Halloween! Moe's place looks nice and cozy, especially with all those furs around. I love how you appear to have brought several bags full of your Halloween goodies along with you. :) I watched this at about one o'clock this morning. It was perfect for that time of night, if a bit eerie. Brian Eno is an artist I've wanted to explore for ages but the man has ~500 albums. I've only heard a few of them but would like to explore further. I was listening to Seven Waves last night and I really think it's a perfect five star release. I can't thank you enough for bringing Suzanne into my life. Have a spooky day! - Shannon :)
Happy Halloween Shannon! Great to see you back over here. It really is, and the furz are good company, if intermittently loud, ha. When I let them out this morning there was a thick fog over the railroad tracks just across the road here...it was perfect! Yep, filled a few tote bags and set up shop here.... 🙂Nice and fitting at that hour. You must have caught this right when it posted. Honestly this album might be as good a place as any to start with Eno's output. I need to home in on the lyrics more since he's concentrating on that more than usual here it seems....It's just different for him overall it sounds. 'Another Day on Earth' as well as 'Another Green World' are albums of his I can see you getting into perhaps as well. Also his first 'Music for Films' album. There's a piece on there called 'Sparrowfall' in several parts which captures autumn PERFECTLY in my not-so-biased opinion! Also his albums with Harold Budd of course.... Aww.....makes my heart so happy to hear that 'Seven Waves' still resonates with you so much, as again, it's been my favorite of hers for ages. Am glad you're enjoying her so much overall. Great again seeing you two representing Cammy-O and Ravens. 🐈⬛🐈⬛ Thanks as always, and hauntingly fun rest of the day to you all. 🧡🎃-Carm & Moe's furz
Happy Halloween buddy!!! I'm behind with emails, etc. How strange to hear your voice but see you with doggies around instead of cats. How great that you managed to bring your Halloween 'stash' with you although you aren't physically at home. Glad to see you've brought a whole bunch of Halloween stuff to keep you company and celebrate my favorite holiday. Nice to see the new Klaus has those 3 long tracks-harkens back to the days of vinyl days in the 70's when he would have one (roughly) 30-minute track per side. I have to look for samples of that Fritz Hauser album. Oh man, I almost ordered that Tim Clark myself just a couple of months ago I'm not even sure where I found the copy of it now...talk about serendipity. Back in 1977 or 1978 I recall going into New York too see Todd Rundgren in concert and Todd put on one of those fake plastic noses with mustache and commented that he was Frank Zappa, who was also close by in another venue in NY giving his annual Halloween concert. Man, I have to find Halloween lights like those for myself! Loved seeing all this stuff-Happy Halloween, will be in touch...
Happy Halloween your way, buddy! Ah yes, very different here....different family of furz and the setting. Had to bring some of home with me here. It feels like home here anyway of course.....Well now, it is OUR favorite holiday ya know. 😉 When I woke up this morning to let the pooches out there was a thick fog over the train tracks just across the road and it's perfect! For sure, that Klaus is a throwback in in several ways as being contemporary, and again, a fine send off to his new home. You'd enjoy that Fritz Hauser I'm sure. Oh I'd go for that Tim Clark if you can! Funny, I can't remember the site I ordered it from either, though I think it was only 10 bucks! The LP would be a fortune probably if it could be found at all. Oh that's funny about Todd doing that Frank bit...and you got to see it! I got those Halloween lights at the little corner place in Oak Park. Very simple and inexpensive. They've been my alternative to Spirit Halloween, while really nice, just a bit too pricey. Happy Halloween again sir. Shall chatta soon. 🎃👻👹👺👽🍁🐶🦮🐕🦺🐈⬛
Happy Halloween to you, Jeff! Glad you're into the new Eno too. It sounds different for him even. Nice, we woke up to fog here this morning...perfect! Thanks much for being here and hope all's well your way. 🎃-Carm
Hi Carm… cool Halloween display ! I remember seeing Repo Man back in the day. I almost bought my first Frank Zappa cd last year. I was looking at his last concert that was released last year. He has so many releases and more are always being released it’s hard to know where to start. Great video Carm. Some cool pieces that you have peaked my interest in. Have a great week Carm ! Thank you . Chez
Happy Halloween Chez! Thanks, had to bring a bit of home to my buddy's for the occasion. I'm sure a lot of us saw 'Repo Man' way back when on cable, then took years to see again. Oh yes, Frank was so prolific that can be difficult. The first album of his I ever had was 'Bongo Fury'. It's actually comparatively straightforward and blues-based, so that might be good if you want to ease into his stuff. Plus it features Captain Beefheart, so it's a sorta "2 for 1" thing. 🙂 Thanks for being here as always. Great rest of your holiday and week to you as well, buddy! 🎃-Carm
I will definitely try that Lovecraft Sextet. I used to go to all the Zappa Halloween shows at the Palladium in NYC back in the day! Loving the BG music. Very fun vid. Sad you're not n your own house for Halloween!! But the fur babies are sweet and keeping you company!
Hey again, Tink! Just came from your video a little bit ago. Oh yes, please lemme know what you think of Lovecraft Sextet when you get into it. It really works somehow even though it seems like it wouldn't, if that makes sense. Oh yes, would have loved to have experienced those Zappa shows with you then. Nothing quite like live TD from the 70s either. Ah, it feels like home here at my buddy's still, and yes, enjoying it with my fur niece and nephews. 🙂 Thanks as always. Peace, love, and happiest of Halloweens to you and Vaggimagoo! 🎃-Carm & many furz
If it's on the level of Eraserhead then it'll definitely be memorable. I have the Repo Man Soundtrack but I'm way overdue to revisit the movie. Nice to see the video, Carm. Happy Halloween.
Hey Eric, I need to watch those back to back and then fully assess. 🙂Nice, I've never heard Repo Man soundtrack and now I'm curious. Thanks much again for being here, and Happy Halloween your way too! 🎃-Carm
Hey Carm, sorry I'm so late to this Halloween video. I hope you had a most excellent Halloween. We've been gearing up for Halloween for months. My kids just love the Halloween season. Especially my son, Will. The spookier the better for him. We had a great Halloween. The rain did put a little damper towards the end of trick-or-treating but fun none the less. Nice of you to house and pet sit while your friend is away. And a very nice atmosphere in this video with TD playing in the background and some spooky treasures laid out on display. I watched Santa Sangre earlier this year. That is one bizarre movie. After watching it I remember trying to figure out wether or not I liked it. It was really perplexing. I landed on not liking it so much. I'd be interested to hear what you thought of it. You have quite the stack of listens in this one that I need to check out. I think I'm going to start out with The Last Question but I've also noted to check out Chuck Van Zyl, Robert Rich, Fritz Hauser, and Mary Jane Leach. Thanks for the homework! Very cool Zappa Halloween show and TD bootleg series set. Thanks for sharing all of this, Carm! I hope all is well with you.
Hey hey Bill, No worries at all! Your own videos are on a list of to-catch-up-on. 🙂Happy belated also, by the way! Hope it was all great. I know there's others of course, you, Tink, and I are all November kids. I would bet, your kiddos must live for the holiday! Glad it was such a good time for you all. We had a bit of rain too, actually that morning when I let my buddy's dogs out, there was a lovely fog just over the train tracks just across the road from his place. Was just perfect. It felt like being at home staying there, and of course I brought some of it with me. Oh gosh yes, well I was telling someone else, I have tons of TD in the collection, yet most of my listening as of late has been the live bootleg stuff from the 70's off of YT. Do you know the channel Richard W? Most of those are from him, and I linked one of them in the notes above. Yeahhh....I'm still waiting for the right moment to put on Santa Sangre....his work in general seems like that. Tarkovsky seems comparatively, I dunno....agreeable...ha. Looking forward to the results of what you think of your homework here. 😉I believe you'd enjoy them all, and Chuck is probably the closest to TD/Klaus territory. Thanks much for being here with me, and looking forward to catching up with you soon enough. -Carm & furz
Happy Halloween Carm & furs. Quite an interesting showing of artists I'll have to check out. Also an atmospheric lit table of spooky characters and excellent bgm. Comet has reruns of the 'X-Files' running now. Bigfoot has always fascinated me too. You might find Dave Paulides' Canam Missing 411 video reports on YT interesting, along with his docs. I must check out those docs & movies too. Kubrick's a favorite film maker of mine. 'Eraserhead' AND it's amazing outre soundtrack is another strange favorite of mine along with 'Zardoz', so Santa Sangre sounds worth investigating too. Those Tangerine Dream bootlegs are some of the most deeply atmospheric and otherworldly musical mind excursions I've ever heard. Thanks for sharing. ~Jeff
Happy Halloween, Jeff! When I let the doggies out this morning here there was a thick fog in the distance and it was perfect! I'm sure you'd enjoy much of this here. Oh yes, brought a little bit of home here with me. My buddy here has the Comet channel here, and indeed it's great to see X-Files on there. I know we both share that interest in bigfoot and all. I feel like he's my other spirit animal along with the sloth. I'll have to look into Paulides as I know of him only by name. I meant to show it, though I finally picked up 'Eraserhead' on video recently and still need to see it in full. I would bet, having an amazing soundtrack. Oh yes, 'Zardoz', what a wild trip! I sorta wondered what Sean Connery thought of that role in retrospect.....? Most certainly, I was just telling someone else, I have this giant TD collection, yet most of my listening to them lately has been the 70's bootleg stuff off of YT, ha. Love it too, and they seldom repeated themselves either...it was always fresh and exploratory live at the time. Thanks as always. Shall catch up further soon. 🎃👻 -Carm
You give me a good laugh every time a look at my card and your spirit animal quote! My brother who shares your birthday exhibits sloth propensities as do I with regard to new video posts. ;-D Thick fog there you say,....this morning? Niiiiice! Cool that get Comet too. Speaking of bigfoot, a local chainsaw artist spent the last solid year carving/selling huge 7-8' tall bigfoot statues out of logs outdoors, which were displayed along the highway the whole time in various shades of stain with varnish sealant. He sold them as fast as he could carve them. I'd love to hear your impressions of 'Eraserhead' once absorbed. I play that soundtrack on gloomy, damp, cold days for full listening enjoyment. What a classic flick and soundtrack, only from the mind of Lynch. Lynch put 'Eraserhead' on hiatus for years and Jack Nance resumed his role perfectly as if no time gap existed. Connery did NOT like the loin cloth nor wedding dress, but was a pleasure to work with according to Boorman. Indeed, what a trip!!! If you like Zardoz you may like George Lucas' more subdued 'THX-1138' movie, based on his '67 college short film. I concur wholly with you on TD's bootleg releases and their mind-blowing Tangerine Tree series. True. Those long improvisational concerts are all different and never get old, especially their 1970-78 psychy netherworld dream drift period. With the exception of a few albums you showed, I noticed a black & white cover art theme. Catch ya later. ~Jeff 🎃🦇🌮
Hey Carm, great to spend another Halloween with you. We had a nice one here, over far too soon. Very interesting selection as always; I finally picked up Cyborg by Klaus on CD a while ago and have been enjoying it very much. Another vocal album from Eno, that is one I'll need to check out. I've been very much enjoying go back to his 'Another Green World' lately, which I finally picked up on CD. Good to see your friend's hounds...house-sitting for a friend can be great fun though I haven't done it for many years! Some fascinating things in this video that I'll be checking out for sure. Speak soon, James
Hey James, Thanks much. Oh yes...the season goes just too fast. Oh very nice, glad you're enjoying 'Cyborg', that one's as outre as anything I've heard by him. I believe you'd enjoy Eno's newest. The more I'm listening to it the more I'm thinking of Vangelis honestly....like he may have been an unspoken, implicit influence behind this...at least instrumentally. Oh yes, 'Another Green World' is another one I'd consider a favorite. Ah, well I do it quite often for my buddy as he travels quite a bit. Hope you enjoy whatever you check out from here. Thanks as always for joining me. -Carm
Carm, I was hoping that Halloween would draw you out. Great video with the mood and the music. The Tangerine Dream BGM was very good. The movie selection looked promising, also. I have seen some Alejandro Jodorowsky, but not Santa Sangre (that I remember). I did stream Stalker, but would be good to see it again. I can't recall if I saw Solaris, or only the remake with George Clooney. Thanks, Chris
Hey Chris, Ah yes....well if I'm only going to do one video....I suppose it has to be this one. 😉Glad you liked the BGM. I linked the full recording in the notes. Richard W has a great channel, and I have another one from him playing as I write. I think I need to be more in the mood for Jodorowsky, though Tarkovsky seems to feel right much of the time....it's just a matter of setting aside the time to devote to them since some of the films are pretty long. Am curious to see the Solaris remake...perhaps watch them back to back at some point. Thanks much for being here and hope all's well your way. -Carm
The two people who I always think of on Halloween is Gary and of course yourself Carm. I knew that my cousin would probably be celebrating this day with a spooky smile. >< You choose some very interesting selections for the background music. I do have Daevid Allen's Gong related stuff but not any solo. How is it? All electronic and experimental sounding in parts? I remember seeing Repo Man years ago. I did not know what to make of it at the time. I guess the object of a proper viewing was to have fun with it. Crazy that Mike Nesmith was one of the producers of the film. >< Enjoy your special day to the fullest Carm. It only comes once a year. Unfortunately like all official holidays it only comes once a year. But Halloween fanatics like my neighbor John celebrate the big day weeks before it arrives. Its OK by me. He builds a three month display that gets recognition in the newspaper every year. All hand made except for the lighting of course. Have a super day cousin C~
Hey cuz Rob, Yeah for sure...it's Gary and my time. 🙂 Also Tink and Beth (miss 80's) if you know her. They're hugely into this all too. Thanks, I put the link to the BGM in full in the notes above. That 'Seven Drones' is very quiet haunting, and sometimes meditative. Nice mix of electronic and acoustic. Different than much of the Gong stuff, at least with which I'm familiar. Ha, well I still don't know what to make of Repo man, which I guess is part of it's appeal. Yes, Kris was pointing that out about the Mike Nesmith connection. Who would have figured? Oh yes, this season just goes so fast, must soak it up. That's really neat what your neighbor does for it all. Good for him. Hope all is well your way. Thanks as always. Peace, love, and happy hauntingness! 🎃 -Carm
carm, good to see you, really enjoyed this, especially the movie segment, tarkovski is a director I'd like get see more of, mirror looks great. that Kubrick doc also looks outstanding. repo man I've only seen once but I do remember liking something about it.
Hey Alex, Thanks much! I think you'd likely appreciate Tarkovsky's stuff....his whole aesthetic. Really strikingly deep and personal. Yes, definitely check out 'Mirror'. It's comparatively shorter than some other films of his, and dare I say....more accessible. Yet compellingly off-the-wall and surreal, exploring the condition of being a human in the world from moment to moment. Definitely recommend 'Film Worker' too, and 'Repo Man'....well I still don't know what to make of it, though that's part of it's appeal for me. 🙂Thanks as always for joining me, and hope all's well your way out west. -Carm
Hey Carm! Thank you for brewing up a Halloween special in the way only you can :) love seeing what music you play that delivers the darkening autumn atmospheres for your favourite time of year. Love the TD BGM.I still haven't heard the new Eno, but love your review. And the films and books too! I really haven't seen any tarkovsky but I feel I need to now. Would love to see you do a feature on him one day given your descriptions. I read an article on Vitali when he passed, what a fascinating person. Love hearing you here and seeing your seasonal trinkets and mascots, right in your element with animals at peace in your presence. Hope all is well, cheers- Dean
Happy Halloween, Deano! Ha, thanks much. Glad you're enjoying the BGM. It's funny...I have dozens of their albums over the years, yet am mostly listening to live bootleg stuff off of YT lately! 🙂Thanks, I feel like I rushed through this a bit, though I want to go more in-depth on Eno's newest. It really is different even for him. I think you would likely appreciate some Tarkovsky. His films take their time to marinate as far as pacing, though well worth the time and patience if one has it. There's still quite a bit I need to see. Oh yes, great feature on Leon. I'd always been intrigued by him, and this really reveals a lot. Very selfless individual. Thanks as always for being here as ever, and hope all's well down under. 🎃-Carm
@@christopherkibler511 Hey Chris, yeah not making videos or listening to much vinyl of late (mostly CDs!!). Good to hear from you - hope you're well and your collection is expanding in all the ways you'd want it to!!
Hey Bill, ha yes...had to do this if nothing else! It was a lot of fun here with my fur niece and nephews. Happy Halloween your way too, and thanks as always for hanging. 🎃 -Carm
Hi Carm, Happy Halloween. A very interesting grouping of music. I have Deus Arrakis in the shelf, but waiting for the right quiet stretch of time to listen. The others I have to explore further. Thanks for sharing. Take care, Richard
Hey Richard, Happy Halloween your way too. Oh yes, same here with Deus Arrakis...had to get the mood and setting just right for the initial listen. Candles...incense....and so forth. 🙂 I hope you enjoy any of these you may explore further. Thanks for being here, and you take care too. -Carm
such a mellow atmosphere you and the pets got going there Carm... very interesting discs you brought with you, though the Zappa seems a bit 'off' from the others... good to scare the trick or treat kids l suppose :) l'm not too big on halloween myself but have a great evening as l know you enjoy this day.....
Thanks much, Sherv. Well I guess I associate Zappa with Halloween from those annual shows he did. Actually too upon revisiting that CD earlier today, the lo-fi quality of it does give it a distant, sorta eerie feeling to it...so there's that too. Well I hope you have a fine rest of the day whatever you do. Thanks as always for being here. 🙂🎃-Carm
Oíche Shamhna Shona Duit , Carm. Great to see you helping your pal, did you bring the director or is she in the basket there? Great to see the pets coexisting. Our boys chase every dog out of the environs they especially go after terriers 😂. Love Kubrick’s work especially Barry Lyndon not just because I used to live near a place where it was filmed here but the way that it was filmed with groundbreaking lenses due to the candlelight scenes. I have its score on wax too. I was watching Creepshow recently-we spoke about it many years ago That crate yoke still gives me shudders 😂 Take care pal.
Hey Ben! Right back at you. Great hearing from you. It's a lot of fun sitting here and with a different set of fur kidz. Ha, no I just go back midday to check up and spend time with my own 'crew'. It's only a 20 minute drive which is nice. Haha, funny about the boys and dogs there. 'Barry Lyndon' is still something I need to see in full. I've only seen it in thirds at various times. I do remember that with the candlelit scenes. Most certainly a visionary who seemed to be able to capture as far as is possible, what he saw internally, to present to us. That's largely what I'm coming to increasingly appreciate about Tarkovsky. Yes, Creepshow, I get those same shudders! I haven't watched in a long time, though can almost play the whole film in my head from seeing it so many times as a kid. 🙂Thanks for being here. Hope you and the family are well as possible. Hope to catch up further soon, old friend. 🎃☘-Carm
@@gorvo31 Sure Carm, actually you may see me back here quicker than you expected John Dowling & Hedley have coaxed me out of retirement for their VC Beer jukebox joke, tomorrow. Probs, be on their channel next week I suppose LOL
Happy Halloween again, Kelly! Oh yes, I get all decked out....and it goes pretty much to Christmas....at least. Indeed....I have issues....👽For sure, well I really need to absorb his movies further, though I want to eventually start first with a video on the musical project inspired by Tarkovsky that led me to explore his work further overall. Thanks as always for being here, sister! -Carm & 🐶🦮🐕🦺🐈⬛
Happy Halloween your way Rachel! Ah no worries at all, am never able to keep up here myself with everyone nowadays. Thanks much, and appreciate you being here. Peace, love, and 🎃-Carm
Looks like a comfy place to spend cooler nights. I've been rewatching some X-Files too and some Star Trek: Next Gen, plus just an assortment of horror titles for the Halloween season. Some interesting music shown Carm, I'll have to check into some of them.
Happy Halloween, Dave, It really is. Very cozy. Very nice, am often up for some X-Files at the very least. A lot of this would be up your alley am sure, especially the music. Thanks as always for hanging. 🎃 -Carm & some different fur kids
Eduard Artemyev and tarkovsky's collaborations always reminded me of florian and Herzog's in a way.. Both seemed to speak an artistic or spiritual language only they understood. A couple of great cosmic tricksters in this one in both daevid allen and jodorowsky whom I love.. Have not seen santa in a long time. No surprise jodorowsky shared a kinship with surrealist as both were obsessed with dreams mysticism and ritual..I would not be surprised if tarkovsky was as well..arguably the greatest cinema visionary of the 20th century though I have only seen Solaris and stalker. I know you love cryptozoolgy like me..did you ever read the late ivan t Sanderson's books?. We listened to the new eno at the shop Saturday..very nice and quite solemn and reflective I like it. Oh yes one thing I wanted to mention that I love about Allen and jodorowsky is the humor in there work which people may over look. When the buddha laughs the whole universe does too..😃..much love chris
Heya Chris, Oh yes....from what I can tell so far there can be felt that parallel with Eduard and Andrei in that way. Oh yes, with Daevid and Jodorowsky....I can definitely get the humor with both too. I just love Daevid the more I hear him in whatever context. From what I've seen so far, I just love that Tarkovsky was always going deeper and deeper. I sense a deep intuition and idealism from him, and perhaps a frustration to a degree that so much of humanity can't or won't explore or be willing to go as deep and merely just stay on the superficial level of things....chasing the material end of things for it's own sake and such. It's how I feel much of the time, and am guessing you must too. 🙂That's part of why he resonates with me so much, especially lately when one looks at the state of mass consciousness in the world today. Oh yes, I have one of Ivan's books, 'Things and more things'. Can't get enough of that sort of thing. Nice, yes I'm enjoying that new Eno more and more on each listen. It may become my favorite of his vocal-centered albums soon enough. We could use more buddha-laughter-consciousness in the world as well. 😊 Thanks as always for being here, brother. Peace 'n' love. -Carm & Meena
Hey sis! Yeahhh I'm not sure where that character is from, either. I think I found him in the thrift some time ago is all I know. Hope you found some interesting stuff here. Thanks as always! 🧡🎃🐶
I checked out the Lovecraft Sextet album. Pretty good! I instantly came to think of Bohren & Der Club Of Gore. Similar dark jazz vibe, but Bohren don’t generally have vocals. Do you know them? Mary Jane Leach is great! Maybe sits inbetween Meredith Monk and something like Ingram Marshal? Nice film selection there too. Tarkovsky is ofcourse great, I’ve seen all his films. Do you know Konstantin Lopushansky? He’s kind of the next step, worked with Tarkovsky early on but then made his own films, and some of them are some of my absolute favourites. A Visitor To A Museum is a masterpiece. Santa Sangre is awesome too, however sadly sits a bit in the shadow of El Topo and Holy Mountain. I think I might like Santa Sangre more even. Do you know Fernando Arrabal? Similar association to that as with Tarkovsky-Lopushansky. Cheers, Johan
Hey Johan! Good to hear from you. Can certainly see you enjoying Lovecraft Sextet album. No, I don't know Bohren though am very intrigued. Yes...between Meredith and Ingram with Mary....that does fit.Very nice, what are particular favorites by Tarkovsky for you? Duly noted on Konstantin as I don't know him, or Fernando...so I have quite a bit more to explore here. Thanks much for being here, and I'm excited to catch up further as I see you have some newer videos up. 🎃 -Carm
Belated happy Halloween Carm, all the four legged friends:). Love that selection. I forgot Eno has a new album out. Out of Tarkovskys films I've just seen Solaris, there was a season of his movies some years back in our local arthouse cinema but sadly I was unable to catch any of them due to circumstances at the time. This Halloween I watched 1958s Night Of The Demon on dvd, are you familiar with it? All the best, Dave.
Hey Dave, Same to you! Serendipitously you came to mind earlier this afternoon and I wondered if I'd missed any of your posts, so it's great hearing from you. I thought I heard something about the new Eno coming out though wasn't sure when, then I just happened across it at a local shop. I know he'd done another one with his brother, Roger not long ago. This one I'm liking more and more on each listen and is unique in his discography. It's often hymn-like much of the time, I find. That would be neat, to see Tarkovsky's films in the arthouse setting. No I don't know 'Night of the Demon', though shall note it for future reference for sure. 🙂 Hope all's been well with you across the ocean, glad to hear from you, and thanks as always for being here. -Carm
Happy Halloween Carm!! A double take: You have the original films Solaris and Stalker on hand! I am a fan of eastern bloc sci-fi, and have a collection of Stanislav Lem books in my bookcase. The Strugatsky brothers are much harder to find. I have a couple books, but a hardcopy of "Roadside Picnic" (the story on which Stalker is based) is hard to find in English. The Lem translations to English are ok - some are fantastic, some not so much. The Strugatsky translations are pretty bad IMO. Roadside Picnic/Stalker the movie conveys the authors' original intent; unfortunately the English translation of the book is a muddle.
Happy Halloween to you too, Dulles! Good to hear from you here. Will definitely lookout for Stanislav Lem and the Strugatskys here. I get that about translations though. Even from articles I've read online where you have the option to translate to English, and it's like....I'd almost rather have the original German or Swedish which I can't understand at all, ha. Thanks much for the info on them, and for tuning in here. Hope all's well your way. 🎃-Carm
The fur baby’s entrance! 😁
I love the sound of those toenails on hardwoods and such a happy bounce in the walk 🤗
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
Cool Halloween treasures, Carm. I’m really enjoying the new Eno. Enjoy the day. Looks like a rainy one for our trick or treaters this year. 🎃Cheers
Happy Halloween!!!!
Happy Halloween to you, Chris! Thanks for being here. 🎃-Carm
My brother who shares your birthday exhibits sloth propensities as do I with regard to new video posts. ;-D
Thick fog there you say,....this morning?
~Jeff 🎃🦇🌮
Happy Halloween Carm!
You show some awsome albums. And of course some great stuff from Zappa and TD.
Have a great day!
Axel
Happy Halloween your way, Axel! Thanks much. Oh yes, Zappa and TD are forever linked with the season for me. 🙂 Thanks for being here as ever. 🎃-Carm
-Carm
alex, you probably liked all the obviously generic products in repo man.... BEER, CEREAL, OIL etc....
🎃-Carm
Dean, good to see that you are still semi-involved.
@@christopherkibler511 Hey Chris, yeah not making videos or listening to much vinyl of late (mostly CDs!!). Good to hear from you - hope you're well and your collection is expanding in all the ways you'd want it to!!
@@GrandmasHandbag Yes, still buying vinyl and CDs. Seem to be making sporadic videos.
It wouldn't be Halloween without a new video from you Carm! I hope you're well, and Happy Halloween to you and your furry friends on loan, lol. Bill
Carm, you are in the Halloween spirit! Jason will be really excited to hear you are going to make a Tarkovsky video. Happy Halloween, friend! 🎃👻💛
Happy Halloween, Carm. My apologies for being out of contact for too long. A very "spirited" and atmospheric presentation. Thank you! 🥰
The ghost with the front teeth looks familiar, but I can’t place him. Movie? 🤷🏼♀️ Anyway, enjoyed as usual. Love you! Xo Sis and sleeping Pipes
Hey sis! Yeahhh I'm not sure where that character is from, either. I think I found him in the thrift some time ago is all I know. Hope you found some interesting stuff here. Thanks as always! 🧡🎃🐶
Happy Halloween Carm. Nice to see Daevid Allen in your pics check out The Glissando Orchestra if you don't already know
Thanks so much, and I appreciate that recommendation! Looking forward to listening. Happy Halloween to you too!
🎃 -Carm
@@gorvo31 Andrei Rublev is probably my favourite Tarkovsky film. Totally epic! Have you seen it?
@@unclassifiablemess No, not yet, though am looking forward to it as you're the second person who has sung it's praises now!
Hope all's been well with you across the ocean, glad to hear from you, and thanks as always for being here.
🎃-Carm
There's an ambient album I'd love to send you. Is there a way to do that?
