I presume an example of the FW189 did'nt survive the war, but i would love to have seen one of these in the flesh....i love the ' greenhouse' type canopies the germans developed...carried on after the war in Heinkel-Trojan bubble cars! Thank you for this excellent download!
+ martin Johnson Just one example was pulled out of wooded area in Russia, just in time for the pilot to see it before he passed. After some initial work it was purchased by Paul Allen's museum and then went dark for over 20 years. Allen's museum is currently closed and they are starting to liquidate some of their projects including a B-17, a Zero and now the incomplete Fw-189. So perhaps a buyer will bring it to life. images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/55f810a5e4b0e5bde7f7a7d4/1627471427921-A6J8EYIC7Z0MIYINM9CT/AircraftRestorationCompany_Aircraft-Sales-Focke-Wulf-FW189.jpg?format=750w
This is a great video to watch after watching the Russian movie "Come and See", where an Owl was always flying over the partisans in the film on the Eastern front. This is like the WW2 German version of the U-2 spy plane, or the WW1 aerial reconnaisance balloon.
The Flying Frame is what the Russians called it. British test pilot Eric Brown loved this thing and had one as his personal hack during the latter part of the war. Very cool video, very in-depth.
Apparently its a pitch control device for the props. Rather clever, uses air resistance to make pitch finer or more coarse depending on altitude and engine speed

@@FiveCentsPlease Thank you for that information...i'd love to see it wherever it ends up. I hope it gets finished and airworthy.

This gives a lot of detail. Looks like a fun ride.

Those turrets are remarkable.
An amazing video. Thanks for posting.
Cool!!
Sweet! A Rooskayah yazika film on the enemy's liaison plane!
Interesting film of an obscure German aircraft with some original design features. It would be great to see an English translation.
Turn on the English subtitles for a good laugh XD
@@DatLapiz there are no subtitles, no
Anybody know what's up with that weird finned prop hub? Cooling for a planetary gear set? Tool-less hub removal? Integrated oil cooler? What gives?

@@michaelparker6719 Huh. Imagine that. Bloody clever that.
