On two and a half men he was making 2 million dollars an episode, but because of all the partying and not showing up to work for 3 days at a time and also being late and even hungover on the job he was fired. During an interview and that poor woman looked scared to death lol, she asked him was he under the influence then and asked him to take a urine test in which he passed. It could have been his urine and it could have been someone elses who cares. I love Charlie as an actor but he has to live with his life and so forth. He has two girlfriends and now 3 grandchildren and he stated that his child suppport payments were 110,000 thousand dollars my goodness a high price to pay. He said he was out of a job and had a family to support Is why he was suing TMZ and hoping they would settle out of court. I don't see him "winning" when they bring up not showing up to your employment for days at a time and I can't count how many drug overdoses wow. Charlie Sheen is responsible for his own sobriety and is learning how to live clean. He said it perfectly after getting laughed at for his non-manly drink choice, "It's better for everyone if I don't." To me, that sounds like a man who finally has his eyes open to reality. It's up to him to decide to have (or not have) a drink or drug, not for society to hide those things. I struggled to quit smoking, I'd still like a cigarette, but I know if I have one, I will be hooked once again. My husband smokes around me and leaves open packs. I'm a better version of me without cigarettes and I'm going to do my damndest to keep it that way. Good for Charlie, I'm proud of him, he's come such a long way, I thought he would be lost forever.
I have worked as a Substance Use Disorders therapist and director for the past 30 years. And seeing Mr. Charlie get sober is the most rewarding part of the job. In addition, I myself have been in recovery since 09-1991 with no interruption and know well enough if you work a program of recovery you see the benefits of sobriety!!! Among the many things learned in recovery is no matter how bad things may get in life you don't have to use!!! As for me, now I find myself unemployed, trying to find a job within my fielding of treatment, and dealing with the BS from my immediate family. But what I am grateful for is that I am not homeless, am able to have a meal daily, and know that as long as I remain sober all things are possible!!! Lastly, I will continue to pray for the alcoholic/addict still suffering out there. MR. Charlie, keep up the great job you are doing! And it would be a great pleasure to meet and speak with Mr. Charlie one day!

I have to disagree with that. An addict will always FIND a way to feed the addiction. It's not until you hit rock bottom that you can begin the difficult climb back up. Getting sober is difficult trial, but once its done. It becomes easier to stay on the path...it took me losing all my oldest friends except one, to realize that I have to change....self enlightenment usually comes once you hit bottom....until then you are falling & don't know it....I'm glad he has recovered, it'll be a long road back.

c Logan only one in ten addicts "makes it" and relapse is very common. I've been clean and sober since the mid 80s. Look at the stats. I hope he does remain clean as I do all addicts but I've just seen too many fail.
That is because addiction is much more complex than we want to admit. These stats are from people who are taken from their regular environment, put into an environment without their substance of choice and after a course, taken back to their original environment.
Why is his time spent clean and sober more meaningful than than the time he has spent in the throws of addiction? Our success as human beings can't be measured solely by how often we were able to be productive members of society. Maybe the depth of his suffering taught him important lessons that allow him to live more fully than you could imagine.
Life is redemption, it's about learning even the hard way. Partying only goes so far, then you realize life if faith and family, first and foremost, the friendships come by associating with like minded people.
Wow! Love how you put that thought together. Yes, life is redemption... a series of them, because we have many lessons to learn. But the death of the trees and flowers in fall, followed by the bleakness of winter, and then all being brought back to life in the spring shows forth that promise of rebirth to us again and again. I'm glad Charlie was loved and supported by his family enough that he saw his worth and value to them. Knowing he is an important part of their lives is what gives his life purpose and gives him the strength to stay sober in the face of temptation. You can hear that in him listing off the numbers of his children and grandchildren and then commenting how great it is that by remaining consistently sober, he can always be there for them anytime of the day or night. Kudos to the whole Sheen family for looking after their own.

I know Charlie, sold him a home. Known him 2 1/2 years, the last time we were together he looked way better than ever, a lot more peace in him. He is a funny likeable guy, and hope he does stay clean for his sake as much as anyones. And feel 100% confident he will.

@@martytruelove5026 They don't - they only think it's good if you were underweight before so that the weight gain makes you look healthier, as in Charlie's case. He was obviously strung out on drugs and looking emaciated before. If someone already at a healthy weight or overweight gained additional weight, people wouldn't think that was good.

Charlie Sheen is responsible for his own sobriety and is learning how to live clean. He said it perfectly after getting laughed at for his non-manly drink choice, "It's better for everyone if I don't." To me, that sounds like a man who finally has his eyes open to reality. It's up to him to decide to have (or not have) a drink or drug, not for society to hide those things. I struggled to quit smoking, I'd still like a cigarette, but I know if I have one, I will be hooked once again. My husband smokes around me and leaves open packs. I'm a better version of me without cigarettes and I'm going to do my damndest to keep it that way. Good for Charlie, I'm proud of him, he's come such a long way, I thought he would be lost forever.
The world is not expected to cater to him. His addiction is something he will need to control under all circumstances.

I have worked as a Substance Use Disorders therapist and director for the past 30 years. And seeing Mr. Charlie get sober is the most rewarding part of the job. In addition, I myself have been in recovery since 09-1991 with no interruption and know well enough if you work a program of recovery you see the benefits of sobriety!!!
Among the many things learned in recovery is no matter how bad things may get in life you don't have to use!!!
As for me, now I find myself unemployed, trying to find a job within my fielding of treatment, and dealing with the BS from my immediate family. But what I am grateful for is that I am not homeless, am able to have a meal daily, and know that as long as I remain sober all things are possible!!!
Lastly, I will continue to pray for the alcoholic/addict still suffering out there. MR. Charlie, keep up the great job you are doing! And it would be a great pleasure to meet and speak with Mr. Charlie one day!

I think Charlie Sheen is just a very intelligent person, and when he did a lot of drugs, his brain went into hyperdrive. I'm very happy for him, to have found a way into more balance, and if abstinence works for him, all good on him, but he should not do this to please others, only himself, because that matters.

Idk about drugs but they say people who are hooked to alcohol are generally really smart people. People whose brains are already in overdrive are usually more prone to alcohol addiction.

What matters is how they come to terms with addiction, and sometimes it means abstinence, and other times it means controlled drinking - I personally think everyone needs to find her/his own way.

People dont realize what actor really means, it doesnt mean to have necessarily a great range, it means to be convicning and entertaining at the same time, Hot Shots films, Beyond The Shadow or Platoon are a good example, he carried those films, he was and is a master at his craft, true master actually, he's naturally born talented, that has a lot to do with what he got from his father in genes too. The same is true about John Wayne, Charles Bronson, Stallone, etc, they had a limited range, and within that range no one could beat them, this kind of actors know where they belong, and that's makes them great actors.

I’m about the same age as Charlie Sheen and I grew up watching all of them. I watched as his life spiraled but he’s the one actor that I really wanted to see him do well. Glad to se his doing great, looking healthy and sounding sane again. I just hope he stays this way.

It's so good to see Charlie doing well, ever since I can remember I've always been in his corner and will continue to do so. I didn't agree with everything he did but I always rooted for him because I felt that wasn't the real Charlie Sheen, the Charlie that you see in this clip is in my opinion the real Charlie. He doesn't know me, nor does he care but I still wish him all the best in hoping that he has a clean and sober life.

What I took from this interview is that Charlie Sheen finally looks like someone who has matured. I hope he continues to be the "new" Charlie Sheen that I saw in this interview. He is definitely "winning" at life now as opposed to before.
You can't help but love Charlie Sheen. Even on his more flamboyant moments, you could always feel that he was a good guy of heart. But I must say, America isn't good for him at all. People are very judgemental and ignorant over there, and Charlie Sheen is a very easy taget. All that hysteria surrounding his persona was just too much. And after the HIV thing, he has basically been shunned by Hollywood. I would love for him to leave that behind, and kickstart his career in Europe or someshere else. I have to disagree with that. An addict will always FIND a way to feed the addiction. It's not until you hit rock bottom that you can begin the difficult climb back up. That is, if you live through it. The only thing that money has to do with it is how extravagant you get with it and how much faster it speeds you to the grave.

Getting sober is difficult trial, but once its done. It becomes easier to stay on the path...it took me losing all my oldest friends except one, to realize that I have to change....self enlightenment usually comes once you hit bottom....until then you are falling & don't know it....I'm glad he has recovered, it'll be a long road back.

c Logan only one in ten addicts "makes it" and relapse is very common. I've been clean and sober since the mid 80s. Look at the stats. I hope he does remain clean as I do all addicts but I've just seen too many fail.
That is because addiction is much more complex than we want to admit. These stats are from people who are taken from their regular environment, put into an environment without their substance of choice and after a course, taken back to their original environment.
Why is his time spent clean and sober more meaningful than than the time he has spent in the throws of addiction? Our success as human beings can't be measured solely by how often we were able to be productive members of society. Maybe the depth of his suffering taught him important lessons that allow him to live more fully than you could imagine.

Life is redemption, it's about learning even the hard way. Partying only goes so far, then you realize life if faith and family, first and foremost, the friendships come by associating with like minded people.
Wow! Love how you put that thought together. Yes, life is redemption... a series of them, because we have many lessons to learn. But the death of the trees and flowers in fall, followed by the bleakness of winter, and then all being brought back to life in the spring shows forth that promise of rebirth to us again and again. I'm glad Charlie was loved and supported by his family enough that he saw his worth and value to them. Knowing he is an important part of their lives is what gives his life purpose and gives him the strength to stay sober in the face of temptation. You can hear that in him listing off the numbers of his children and grandchildren and then commenting how great it is that by remaining consistently sober, he can always be there for them anytime of the day or night. Kudos to the whole Sheen family for looking after their own.
