The 3k has way more body to the sound and much punchier sounding drums, but too be completely fair I’ve been using the 2kxl for like 7 years now and have learned that it all comes down to good mixing, with the 8 outs and a decent mixing console you can get beats on the 2kxl hitting just as hard as any other sampler out
this was so helpful . thank you so much for taking the time to add the files. Such a big difference listening to the full mix vs just playing a drum loop AB. That 3K sounds BEEFEY Thank you
I’m listening to this video using a JBL Charge4 bluetooth speaker. The sound difference is borderline dramatic. The 3000 is more punchier while the 200xl is more fluffier but good. But I would prefer the 3000.
Excellent Video Rock. Keep them coming bro. I have the mpc Force, the Maschine MK3, the 2000xl, the ASR-X, and i had the EMu SP1200, and had the Maschine Mk2. So i do know what you talking about when you say ... "just can't touch that ole school feeling from those MPC's and that EMU and Asonic. Beautiful bro. Its not about money, its about the culture.
3:52 MPC 2000XL vs 4:46 MPC 3000 But 3000 has extra snare on 5th to 8th bar. You didnt include that in the 2000XL version. At any rate, I didnt know that the XL had so much grit compared to 3k. I would love to hear a 2k vs 2kxl. I heard mfs say that 2k has more grit than 2kxl. Never touched a 2kxl. I prefer nothing but pads on the right side and no swivel screen. I agree on workflow. I used a 60II and 3k in the early 90s. Then used a 2k in the late 90s. I never looked back. I disagree on quality. That ish is subjective. Some people believe that vinyl has better quality than CDs. Some people disagree.
To me it depends on what you going for, the XL got that grit and you can here it no doubt. The 3000 reminded me of rehashed mp60 2 roger Linn just cleaner warmer sounding. The grit is what makes your drums knock in my opinion grab a sp1200 for that tru grit.
I’ve made rap beats on the 3000 and they do sound amazing, but the 2000 sounds grittier to me on this video. It depends what sound you’re going for I guess
The output fidelity on the 3000 is crisp and more tight.it also has a bit more gain and better sound imaging while the 2000xl has that grit but its a bit muddy and airy. i love the XL but to me the 3000 gives that tight punch.
Metamophisis way back I accidentally stumbled across it, resampled a 10 second sample and full thought my mpc froze, but for some reason I left it going and came back to it an hour odd later and it revealed to me how gritty this thing can get haha!
It’s been a minute since I even used my book Luke Cage! I got it from the Akai Mpc Forum years ago. You got google duo or what’s app. I got the process memorized.
Man I did not know that 3000 sounded that good, you can clearly here the separation and depth of every sound. Was there an equivalent rack version ? Thanks 🙏
@@justinmerritt3843 man, I once had s2800 in the 90s that got stolen from me, and I always thought that the drums I sampled there always sounded so good, now I know why, thanks for the information
I’ve used all Mps the 4000 has the best sampler 2000 mid quality more features on the 4 the 3000 the first beat I made I noticed a dramatic difference HUGE I’m a musician multi instrumentalist the 3000 swing and sound is like it makes literally whatever you place in it better if you a 2 on 1-10 drum programming you ll end up 7 lol
Yeah but that Digital I/O board on the 2K Classic & 2000xl is the upgrade from the 3000 I've had both, but my MPC Renaissance is even killin' the MPC-X because the X only have Analog I/O's... Nice Vid though... #Salute!!!👑✨👑
You are first one who has said what I've been thinking for a year now. I also feel it is easier to work with plugins with the Mpc Ren and any other machine. But I still want the X. But I'm sticking with my Ren. Overall.
@@SuperDFAMILY I been saying that on the Akai page since the X was in conception, so they blocked all comments lol... Sad because all they had to do is add a Digital I/O board, but if your getting cheap chinese labor then it is what it is... Ha hahahahaaa
ILL REEL everybody have they own way of doing things lol I will never sample in digital. I will always sample in analog to get the best out of the machine.
@@DJROCKCEEENTERTAINMENT I hear you bro they still need to take it back to at least give us the option. Remember it was an upgrade on your MPC 2000 XL just like more Ram was an upgrade on all MPC's. The issue we're having is they completely took it away in 2018, you have to admit that's a lil weird....Ha hahahahaaaaaaa....
MPC Renaissance Killin MPC X??????? The ren is a controller bro nothing more. no sound card no nothing. What are you even saying? The X and live rule all mpc's. faster workflow is the key to making music nowadays.
@Jedeteach I had the same experience between the 2000XL and the 3000. When I sampled a kick hihat and a snare into the 3000 for the first time I was sold and I had to have it. The sound jumps out at you like it's 3D compared to the 2000XL. IMO the 3000 sound has dynamic width. I didn't appreciate that until I tried it for myself. Those who think that's nonsense haven't tried it
2000XL made me stank face....the dark energy coming from that thing with that particular beat crushed the 3k.....i wonder how trap beats wouild sound on both
*What is the point if you just record those units into PRESONUS???? I mean someone actually built a WORSE audio engine than Protools and yall blowing cashflow on it, the WEAK LINK in your signal chain! MPC3000 low end punch for days. Incredible difference. I have a mint MPC3000 and I never knew it was that dramatic.
I can't believe people say the 2000 and xl have no sound
3000 more punchy and full but 2000xl was warmer on the tone especially in the kick drum
I like the way it sounds coming from the 2000xl, it sounds a little more balance the mix but the 3000 sounds a little more punchier.
I’m listening to this video using a JBL Charge4 bluetooth speaker. The sound difference is borderline dramatic. The 3000 is more punchier while the 200xl is more fluffier but good. But I would prefer the 3000.
Love your MPC videos fam. You got a new sub.
Appreciate it!
I don't feel the kicks where evenly mixed on both machines. I know 3000 has more punch, but levels alone seemed off.

Yeah the mix on the 3K is more pronounced and, you can hear the samples more distinctly.

Diane V lol 😆 thank you hun for your comments !!
@David Erlstoke i prefer cd
@David Erlstoke for a vinyl mix and master u also have to do a basscut...thats why alot of records, special bassheavey music sounds better on CD.
which computer speakers do i need to hear the warm-difference?

Hey bro do you have an opinion between the 2000 and the 2000xl? Thanks 🙏
The 3000 has better kick transients and it's easy to tell, given the fact that both samples where recorded under the exact same conditions.
I come from the 2000XL & REN. I’ve always wanted a 3K since like ‘07. Is it true that the 3K doesn’t load .pgms only .snds? 🤔
That's not true, it can save and load .pgms and it can also save and load multiple sequences as .all files
I’ve made rap beats on the 3000 and they do sound amazing, but the 2000 sounds grittier to me on this video. It depends what sound you’re going for I guess

On the 2KXL you can convert drums from 16 to 12 bit or even 8 bit. It doesn’t show it in the manual you will have to get a ebook for that trick 😉
Metamophisis way back I accidentally stumbled across it, resampled a 10 second sample and full thought my mpc froze, but for some reason I left it going and came back to it an hour odd later and it revealed to me how gritty this thing can get haha!

Luke Cage I just seen it at Mpc Samples.com.

S3000 was it's equivalent. Not the s3000xl, S3000 also s2800. S2800 has less outs

I could easily tell the difference. The 3000 stands out with the Transient Punch.
16MB max on the 3000 is a truly misinformation.
WASKMUSIC yep I realize after the video was posted but thank you 🙏🏻 for your information! I know the max is 32mb
DJ ROCK-CEE ENTERTAINMENT no problem just wanted to mention it.
2000xl wins, sounds more musical. Something magical happens with the instruments sonically.
Do the MPC 4000 vs MPC 3000.
