This is what I was going to say. The only store that might come close is Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue, London. Though not exactly practical to get to for most folks. I can only really get my Manga and omnis online. (Speedyhen/Book Despoitory/Amazon and maybe Travelling Man)
DEL AMO Book Off A-HA! Tis thee one near long beach or Torrance yuuuuup! Love this place too cause 3 for the shops of 1: B&N, Kinokuniya and Bookoff in the del amo fashion mall. The restroom is on the corner near the media center where they sell criterions etc and behind the 2 escalators. 😎
dude! just checked out your channel - CAN YOU GET ANY MORE AESTHETIC? For some reason or another i've yet to actually check out Gleipinir - but i've heard folks in my discord talking about it! thanks for watching man - you got a great thing going on yourself 👏🏼
@@BoogieSnacks Gleipnir is great, dude! It's a bit ecchi, but if you don't mind that, it has a great mystery/action story. And some of the character designs aswell as cover art and art style in general are amazing!
Last week i got volume 1 of Atelier of Witch Hat. Wasn‘t sure if i would like it but i‘m in love with its art style & story and gotta get me some more😅
Some of the last physical ones i got were skull-face bookseller honda-san vol 2, Another, Platinum End vol 1, Candy & Cigarettes, Devil's Candy, I Hear The Sunspot Limit 2, etc. I ended up spending over 300 dollars this last time so i got like 30 volumes of manga lol.
Last physical manga copies I picked up were for Fruits Basket(the collectors editions) and Kurokos Basketball as they were two of my favorite series to just collect.
Hey, Boogie ( i went on and called you bogie :) ) awesome content! I just wanted to tell you, personally, as a recent fan and collector of mangas, I would really appreciate a comprehensive video about manga types, I keep hearing Ichi, Senin, etc. and it would be appreciated greatly to have a tutorial on the proper identification of mangas genre. In any case, keep up the good work, I always enjoy your content! ( also, kick-ass quality video production :) )
Hi! I know I'm a year late but here : Shonen - targeted towards young males 12-17 and mostly known for action, battle, and superpowers. Some known shonen are : naruto, dragon ball, one piece, bleach, fire force, hxh, yu yu hakusho, jojo Seinen - this is targeted towards young male adults. It has more of a darker theme than most shonen : berserk, Vagabond, Tokyo Ghoul, monster. Shoujo - targeted towards young female (like shonen) however shoujo mainly has a romance focus with some action like "yona of the dawn" most notable anime/manga that are shoujo would be - sailor Moon, card capture sakura, Kimi ni todoke, yona of the dawn, banana fish, and yeah👍 Josei - equivalent to seinen but for women! Isekai - this features another world, which the main character is sucked into. In anime, most isekai's absolutely suck with only 1 notable one (re zero) in my opinion. I recommend you check out manhwas if you like the isekai genre, they know how to do it well!
Just bought vol 8-11 of chainsaw man and I can't wait to read them. For me, chainsaw man got better as I read more volumes. I'm really interested in starting berzerk, dorohedoro and Tokyo ghoul physical. I'm currently watching dorohedoro anime and I love it
I gotta search a whole bookstore for a very small selection of manga, I actually go there a lot since they restock the shelves with other manga. My most recent buy was Tokyo ghoul volume 3!
My last physical volume I bought was Mission: Yozakura Family and you gotta check it out! It's a new English physical release that's an Action/Romance/Comedy. It starts out as a very fun and eventually has surprising amounts of depth. Just a high quality shonen series.
Wish we had more manga/comic shops in England, the big one 30mins from me is still smaller than that B&N. I recently went on a small spree with the money I had and bought Sakamoto days 1,3,4, crazy food truck, Tokyo Ghoul vol 10, Dandadan vol 1 and Vinland Saga book 2; it was lots of fun
Ordering kiju #8 volumes 1,2,3,4 tomm . And im also going out to time master on the 4th or 5th to hopefully find volumes 4,5,6, 7,8,and 9 of one piece . Sence there out of stock in 4,5,6 in the omnibus's for one peice on amazon.
Just brought the following from the Kinokuniya at Little Tokyo (Los Angeles): Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku Vol. 1 Sakamoto Days Vol. 1 Kaiju 8 Vol. 1 Mashle Magic and Muscles Vol. 1 Booty Royale Vol 1-2 This was my first time doing Manga shopping. Got inspired after watching you and a few others express their passion for this expensive hobby/passion 😂 Im definitely checking out the bookstores in that mall.
The last Physical manga I got was a rightstuf order of Bloody Mary 4-10, Beasts of abilgaile 2, Aot vol 25, A certain scientific accelerator 12, and to top it off Demon sacred vol 2
I was in Torrance and couldn’t find this location this is the store I wanted to go to but lucked out completely. Great video as well. Last physical manga volumes I bought were back in July JJK 16-19 and 5 BL volumes. I got three light novels this month though Heaven’s Official Blessing volume one and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation volumes 1&2 (which arrived today).
@@BoogieSnacks Thanks for the info. It's roughly the same price. Nice! off topic but you should get the Japanese versions of Dai Dark. Very cool slip covers on them.
Ok I wish I had a store like bookoff where I live that is the biggest manga selection I've seen in a brick and mortar store. If anyone has any recommendations of a good bookstore besides b&n and books a million in Michigan I would appreciate it.
I love these manga shopping videos!
glad you're enjoying the videos :)
Man those shops look awesome. In the UK, I wish we had one store with such a big selection. Just picked up Beastars 20 and Alice in Borderland 3 today
same in germany :( berlin has some cool stores but they are very very small and the selection is also super small with almost no merch as well
they definitely are! - actually crazy that there's 4 shops in ONE location
This is what I was going to say. The only store that might come close is Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue, London. Though not exactly practical to get to for most folks.

Alice in Borderland? Very nice taste. I read through it and it's amazing 🙏
Wish we had places like this in the north of England.
and also in Malaysia. we only have one kinokuniya 😑
Same
hopefully in the future!
I’m from the North of England (kinda) but then I moved down South and there legit nothing here. The selections before were better tbh 🥲🥲
Wish we had places like these in ohi-

B&N, Kinokuniya, and BookOFF are all in one vicinity near me so I go crazy whenever I’m in the city. I definitely go over budget but that’s okay
it 100% is okay haha i agree
18:19 foreshadowing to boogie becoming a manga shop owner
👀
Finally picked up Vol 4 of Moriarty. It's been sold out in a lot of places and my local B&N had 1 volume left. Now I can read 4 - 8!!!
Last week i got volume 1 of Atelier of Witch Hat. Wasn‘t sure if i would like it but i‘m in love with its art style & story and gotta get me some more😅

I'm curious on how much BOOK OFF charges for their Japanese manga? Here in Japan a good majority of them are only 100 yen.
i think i paid $1.50 for one volume but some go up to $3.00 i think (don't quote me on that)
