I just wanted to add that while I never had a problem with the cursor I acknowledge that some have had problems and I have no problem with you accommodating their wishes because I don't see how it will make a negative impact on my life though I could be wrong but I'm trusting my instincts on this good day sir. EDIT: Everything that can go wrong in my life has gone wrong in my life ever since I posted the original comment and I'm very conflicted on what my next step should be
Hey Ned, first off, thank you for all these wonderful tuts and the music you create and showcase. You are probably my favorite youtube content creator, especially for being a catalyst to thinking outside the box inside the box. I searched for impulse responses with convolution reverb within your archive, and didn't see anything. I would be interested to see what madness you would conjure up, any insights, opinions.. whatever really. On topic with clip automation, I didn't know that you could do half the things you did. Invaluable information!
My favorite part of the mouse halo is that you spent 1:15 speaking about it. That's 18.38% of your video caring about people's comments. Then the remaining 81.62% caring even more (even for us non-commenters.) Maths!
the easiest way to remember automation vs modulation is thinking of it as absolute values vs relative values. I don't know why I don't use modulation more often, instead I use 200 M4L LFOs when I'd probs be better off using clip modulation... :P
if you are on mac you can adjust cursor size in the accessability menu - probably less work than tracking the cursor with a halo :) anyway veery good content
Very helpful Ned. Appreciate these focused tips like this.
Ned please, I can’t pay attention to the video as I can’t stop myself from looking at that amazing circle arround your cursor, please do something!
Ok. I do something.
Thank you for this. I accidentally discovered both these options just yesterday and I needed to know wtf the difference was.

Usually a lurker on your videos, but this one was really, really useful for all experience levels! The mouse halo helps a lot too.
Very nicely explained! Great vid
I’m going to hold an official poll for the halo.
Excellent work Ned. Highly entertaining as usual

😂
great video! nice and concise, and super helpful to know the difference between these 2 approaches!
and cool to see them work together
The podcast with Art and Music was great. If you haven't already listened to it and enjoy all this madness I highly recommend

Two thumbs up for the mouse halo.
Helpful, this comment was made by the mouse ring gang

200%. Yes. Yes to 200%.This video was perfect. Thanks....
They’ve always been 200%.
The halo is helpful. Thanks!
Had no idea! I must have looked straight at Show Clip Modulation like 174,322 times too.
Well fuck me. How did I not know this? Thanks for being the most titillating blend of function and form on youtube.
god bless you mr mouse ring
5:00 Very useful video. Just to be a freq knobend...you're actually offsetting modulation by moving the Freq knob not attenuating it.
That’s what I said in the video.
“Halo, is it me you’re looking for”....😉🙏😂
nice halo you got there, very cool
I've been using live for ten years. I never saw this option. And I automate all the time... lol
Very good! We See your mouse👍🥳
Sweet halo!
I love you and your mouse halo
I think rimming the mouse is helpful.

Keep the halo. Awesome for cell phone viewing.
Lockdown is lonely for our diminutive animal friends, give a mouse a ring today.🐁💍
The mouse cursor halo thingy works fine for me
The mouse halo was friggin amazing, the rest of the video not so much though
Can't believe your mouse died :( cat? RIP Ned Rush's pet mouse.
I for one appreciate the halo!
the best circle in the world!!
Yay for the halo #yaylo
Like the halo
I frequently try to add clip modulation but then get stopped in my tracks because it only goes 0-100%. How do you get it to be bipolar?
I like the ring to see what you do. But nevermind me, I'm a noob and will never be able to use abelton. I'm notable..

as i said in the video. the screen capture software i use doesnt capture the cursor size adjusted in accessibility settings.
the halo tracks automatically.
@@NedRush ahh ok :)
angel mouse is a good mouse
Like the dead mouse
not a fan of the halo, I think you should find a way to make the pointer bigger.
I just explained how I can’t do that.
Have you tried the "accessibility " settings for almost blind people? I've seen better solutions than the halo.
Did you watch the video?
The screen capture software doesn’t capture mouse cursor settings made in accessibility settings.
yeah mate, brilliant, maybe I was just distracted because you called it out?
Halo seems unobtrusive and helpful.
tl;dr
automation = sweep
modulation = wibble
No one reads a video.
Fucking hate the halo. Get rid of it.
(its quite all right actually. Cheers for the good stuff!)
At least the halo is better
Great video. Thx for the tip!
