great combo! when they first teased the circuit tracks I was actually looking at my model cycles and hoping the new circuit would let me put any track type on any channel like the cycles does. would have been killer
I'm having a hard time finding deep tech house basses (like FISHER's) in Circuit Tracks. Do you know any good patches? I have no clue how to make a proper patch
I'm sending midi from the Circuit to the Cycles, then sending the Cycles audio to the Circuit. Think of the Circuit as being both the controller and mixer of the Cycles. All of this is happening on Midi Track 1.
That one is controlling a different track to n the Cycles. But all of the Cycles audio is feeding into Midi Track 1 (since it's both a midi track AND an audio track, and the Cycles doesn't have multitrack outputs).
I don't have a whole lot of insight into the process, but it seems like Novation's been cutting it pretty close to the relaxed date when mass producing both Circuits. I have no idea when people will get them, but it definitely will happen.
Ok that is some of the most stupidest way to use the circuit Control an elektron device The sequencer on elektron cycle are more weirdly good than anything else I mean You can parameter the sequencer (the bass has 6 step and all other has 64 steps) You can change temporaly all function and go back to the preset sounds The chord mode There are too much It makes no sense to be honest (Volca series makes sense)
There are multiple ways to do it. If I wanted to get the most possible power/layers, I could totally have sync'd the two devices. That just wasn't the goal of this session, my goal was to use the Cycles as a sound module for big ol distorted, abrasive noises, and do it using the fastest, most fluid workflow possible. There's no objectively "correct" way to use *any* of this stuff, it's all down to preference and what you're trying to achieve. Also, I had originally planned to use more layers, but the distortion in the Cycles is cumulative, so too many layers beyond the kick/bass thing sounded like garbage.
If you refuse to acknowledge that there are multiple ways of doing things, you are severely limiting yourself and getting no benefit from it. I can't think of anything more silly than refusing to hook up two electronic instruments in a certain way because "it's just not the right way to do it". Like, what a ridiculous and arbitrary limitation to put on yourself...
love seeing the process in action!
Been working with this exact setup for a couple of months now. Consolidating everything via the Circuit’s sidechaining and effects is nice.
Would be interesting to see you try a similar setup with the tr-6s.

This is the exact setup I'm looking at in the next couple paychecks. Already have the model cycles and love the workflow on it
It's a good time!
Very nice groove👍 I would love to see more Mpc one beat making. 💪
Thanks! More on the way very soon
sweeeeeet! I love that groove! any chance you'll do a jam with novation tracks + rythm soon ?
Thanks! Probably not all that soon since I've got some other stuff I need to finish first, but it's definitely something I want to get to.
I just want a hardware brain for my volcas. Is the elektron better than circuit in that regard?
I would love to see one with the model cycles and circuit rhythm!
I haven't done a video connecting them directly, but Model:Cycles sounds (especially kicks) have been popping up in a lot of my Circuit Rhythm beats.

Gemfire has a pack that's really good, and you might have some luck with the Red Means Recording packs as well.
Can you please re-explain the routing of synth 1 ? You are sending it's audio to the Cycles right ? then back to the Circuit ?

@@GabeMillerMusic Got it about track Midi1 but what about "Synth1" ? at 1:16

With typhone
more rhythm videos on the way?
Yep, at least one per week for the next month or longer.
FYI Until I see the Novation Circuit Rhythm in the wild it's just a mythical creature, lol #NovationCircuitRhythm #PreOrder #NotForSale #Dawless

@@GabeMillerMusic oh for sure, just anxiously excited!

Here was me thinking a person can do whatever the f**k they want 😚
