Geoffrey Palmer passed away on November 5, 2020. An incredible, diverse actor that graced our TV screens and in movies such as "A Fish Called Wanda" with his dear friend John Cleese, and the 007 James Bond movie along side Judi Dench in 1997 "Tomorrow Never Dies". For British Television "Butterflies", "As Time Goes By" (above), "The Avengers" (he did three episodes), 1963 "The Saint" with Roger Moore, "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrine", and "Fawlty Towers" opposite his dear friend John Cleese. Plus many other appearances on British Television, too many to name here. Prayers and condolences to the surviving family members. Thank you for coming into our lives here in the USA you are a true "diamond in the rough". You will always be with us visually on our TV. Your dry humor and delivery of the lines they wrote were fantastic and no other English actor could have done them better. You will be terribly missed! RIP Geoffrey Palmer.
I agree with your appreciation, but I wouldn't call him a diamond 'in the rough' at all. His performances were invariably as polished -- or not -- as they should have been, spot-on at all times. He did have a charmingly rascally air about him, though. I miss that.
He was great in all. I remember him as the feckless, ex-army type who was always having a "balls-up in the catering corp", and came over to scrounge a meal.
I adore this show. It never gets old, no matter how much time goes by. Nothing could be better than spending the evening with Dame Judy Dench and Geoffrey Palmer.
I was looking for it. I know Judi is a great actress but her reaction to the ear wax was so convincing that i wonder if she was really surprised and hadn't expected it. I love how she slaps his shoulder.
@@granthurlburt4062 I remember how Judi jumped when she saw the bag. Made the joke so much funnier than it might have been. Don't know why someone hasn't posted a clip of it. Cheers.
"As Time Goes By" the BEST show ever. Have been a fan since it was first on in the 90's. Also really enjoyed "Fresh Fields", although nothing tops "As Time Goes By"
Im insane for this show ... did everyone notice in this episode Lionels green chair doesnt have have buttons on the side parts "the wings" of the chair... so they must have used 2 different chairs ....
I'm here in the US 🇺🇸 and this was my show, I never missed an episode on PBS, every Saturday, Night. Plus I must confess even though she's older I have ah mad crush on Judi Dench.
Sandy and Judith remind me respectively of Deborah & Dorothy from Men Behaving Badly (though Sandy & Judith are more likeable characters). I recall watching this show here and there, nonetheless it's so well performed with an iconic cast
Absolutely love this show. Beautifully acted and superbly written.

My God, I love this show. I laughed so hard when I first saw this part.

I remember this episode, totally brilliant.
Great script writing and great actors/actresses. I'd still watch more re-runs.
Every Saturday evening on PBS two episodes AND I have all the DVDs, my favorite brit com.
The gag at the end of this episode is one of the most funny ever. I think of it often.

I remember watching this in 2001, Judy Dench and G. Palmer make such a charming couple. A pleasure to watch them.
Geoffrey Palmer and dame Judi Dench great actors
Haven't thought about this show for a while. If I could turn back the clock.
I am not ready for a ear trumpet yet
I'll remember that when I get older lol 😂
Goodbye Lionel, thanks for all the laughs.
Hello Lionel. Lol!
Im insane for this show ... did everyone notice in this episode Lionels green chair doesnt have have buttons on the side parts "the wings" of the chair... so they must have used 2 different chairs ....

RIP Geoffrey :( great actor
RIP Geoffrey Palmer... 😔 😔 😔 😔
These aren't the full episodes unfortunately. The actors are understated in a way I like.
As Time Goes By blends sitcom with romance.
RIP Geoffrey
One of my favorite TV shows❤️❤️✡️🇺🇸✝️
Something about oysters lolol
I *love* this show!
Britbox why is As time goes by not accessible on your site please? I signed up the subscription for this show and its not there 😔
This is the funniest episode.
Sandy and Judith remind me respectively of Deborah & Dorothy from Men Behaving Badly (though Sandy & Judith are more likeable characters).

RIP Geoffrey Palmer.
Poor bloke was out numbered
Luckily for him.

S.I.P. Geoffrey from Terrence Hill
I like shows like As Time Goes By and Keeping Up Appearances. I wish there were more shows like these without explicit sexual content and profanity.
brill😀
I just subscribed and this show is not on Brit Box! No ok guys :(

They all have unnaturally soft voices, the lot of them.
