My sister who graduated from Stanford worked on a project with a Stanford Alumni who was also collaborating with a Stanford Professor ...That professor wrote a letter of recommendation and vouched for my sister
Can you interview your Spanish friend and ask her more about how she landed her internship in Stanford , this is so helpful for us international students 🥺🥺
its_n thanks for this feedback! Would a video just on research in high school be helpful? I could interview some of these people and get them to talk more about it
This is from Ines, the girl in the video from spain, “Honestly, I just emailed a few professors and personalized my cover letter to their research papers. But I was very lucky because I only had to send about 6 emails and I already got 2 offers... but some friends who were equally qualified if not more sent 100+ emails”

Iris Fu I love how clear and concise your videos are and how you post videos very often. You always have relevant and unique information in that is always interesting and unique. My favorite videos of yours are the ones that focused on passion projects and how students can start their own. I do not think that your channel needs much improvement, but I do have some video requests-(1) what you wish you did during high school, (2) great projects to do during quarantine, and (3) tips or advice to doing research or finding internships. Personally, I believe these videos would be very informative for students, but I am so excited to watch whatever you post on your channel! Keep up the hard work!
You are such a fun person to watch and your videos are unique! I also love that you get other students in your channel to talk about their experience as well! Also it's awesome that you post quite often!
Im pretty interested in the tomorrow tech leaders. Can anyone share with me some specific details on how to join, what age group is it catering etc and also any international technology competition. Thank you
What did your friend who started the two non-profits do to raise awareness for gender-based violence? I am also trying to start an organization that is raising awareness for an issue, but I'm not sure where to start.
Hey. I just wanted to know if you have a template for cold emailing professors. I am super interested in math research especially invariants in knot theory but I don't know how to get help from math professors.
There're a ton online that you can search for! But I'd recommend keeping them short and to the point (no one wants to read an essay of an email for no reason)
email a professor/research facility in your city explaining your interest and how you would love to do research with them. There are also research summer programs.

@@ananthv792 You can also check out Pioneer Academics at pioneeracademics.com It's a research program where you can pair up with professors and conduct researches, the program is competitive though, in the sense that it requires you to send your academic profile and do an interview. Though I have done debate(won 3 national championships), I founded a nonprofit organization, did other community services, and won a national business competition, I have never engaged in researching, no internship, no olympiad. I mean I have no academic extracurricular let alone achievements. If I manage to get a good score in sat and write dope essays, do you think my extracurriculars can land me in top universities? I know nobody can say. But still, do they sound impressive enough? ps: I am applying for fall 21 so I have no time to do any research or internship.
In my country, a national business tournament is arranged every year for high school students(junior and senior year) by a Liberal arts University. I participated in that with my team and we won.

Guys if you're a master student and you wanna apply for a PhD in physics, are the extracurriculars in sport so important? The past years I've done so many courses and projects and self-teaching related to quantum physics and programming, even related to history of science, but I've only practiced one semester of basketball elementary level, just before covid-19. I see all these brilliants students who are really good at sports. Will this detail damage my chances?
Hey can someone rate my top 3 Extracurriculars 1) Taekwondo international multiple time gold medalist 2) Karate national gold medalist 3) Started an old age home Please I'm worried that my top 3 EC's aren't good enough as an international student

1) Taekwondo international multiple time gold medalist
2) Karate national gold medalist

1) really strong
2) less strong (oblivious international is better)
3) strong depending on impact
how we get various professors email address?
Usually they’re listed on the school’s website!
@@irisfu6929 oh lemme check btw thank you.
Any space related extracurriculars?
Lil Meembot unfortunately no:/
you could participate in NASA challenges. Nasa usually has like 3 throughout the year.
you could also try to find an internship to nasa by emailing/calling
Deanna Hu I think they have an app online as well although you have to be at least 16
Iris Fu its it for international students too? Thanks
