I also have seasonal allergies and it's so fucking annoying like when i'm peacefully sleeping, suddenly my nose gets itchy and i also have to rub it and then i literally have a flood from a nose even when i took my medicines but i stopped taking them because they were giving me issues with my blood pressure

The reason why the medicine that was working fine for a entire year stoped working is probably because your body developed resistance against that particular drug because u were using it for a long time, it's like alcohol, first time u may get drunk with just a glass, but the more u get used to it, it take several glasses to get the same effect. So smaller or weak doses never work better after that , because you would need a stronger dose , is the reason why doctors decided to provide those steroids u talk about
