    god. I am appalled by the comments. She won by a massive gap in points. out of all the women involved, only 2 appeared in the top 30 (or 50 I don't recall exactly) which tends to show that the competition was even more advantageous to the MEN ! yes, it was a DP world tour win. Yes she outplayed the field of players present. and Yes, this is a huge success for golf.

    • @Pago77
      @Pago77 2 года назад

      But she played a different golf course to the men. Where is the science behind determining where the ladies tees are placed that guarantees 100% equality? There is none! So the men and women were playing with an advantage or disadvantage but no one can be sure in whose favour this advantage was. So all you can logically determine from this is this is untenable and needs to stop.

    • @Pago77
      @Pago77 2 года назад +1

      And you yourself have actually stated that it is unfair but not sure in whose favour. If something is unfair then stop doing it it’s as simple as that. If she had not won then someone would have complained that the ladies tees were to long. This is a dangerous direction for pro golf.

      @@Pago77 How is "Par" and "Distance from back tees" determined to you? This is simple maths. golf is played backwards from the green/hole: Everyone is even from 100-150y. You then take the average distance from all LPGA/LET players and DP/PGA players from the tees, add that and you get the average distance. If you still think golf is only about distance ... why holes shorter are sometimes tougher than longer ones? Compare the strokes gained from the 150y distance and on the green. Pretty sure this is where Linn Grant won the tournament, not the tee shots... But yeah continue to argue that "this is not the same course cause she starts 20y from the men". I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Mine is that these types of events should be more frequent to inspire a younger generation of players to compete with equity and fun.

    • @antoine_casanova
      @antoine_casanova 2 года назад +1

      @@Pago77 my comment that the top 30 rankings of the tournament was filled with 28 men and 2 women which tends to show that the competition was advantageous to the men in this case. But again, it is all about average and statistics. Here the sample is too small to actually proves anything in that regards. My point is that we should hold a lot more of these events to actually optimize the distance to offer EQUITY in a sport that really is a great place to offer mixed-event.
      Like I wrote before : This is a win for golf. again, in my humble opinion.

    Since when was pro golf a handicap system. Different tees are arbitrarily picked and therefore they are playing a very different golf course. I have no problem with handicap tournaments off different tees as the rating for each tee sorts that out. But for gross tournaments you will never get the handicapping right as there is no science to it. This is a go woke go broke for the PGA and DP tour

      Agreed, totally. I don't understand why anatomy does not make sense for these people. Also, in the end, not only wouldn't this change anything about male's pro game, because there's no way anyone is giving up the most profitable sector of golf, but it would also encourage more women and girls to start a career in golf, which will in return further improve the overall market, and giving *those* men an even bigger show to watch. Just like introducing women to the work force, which was both an equality thing and a beneficial economic change, this win is the exact same thing--win-win.

    I was actually excited about this until I heard that she didn't play from the same tees as the men. If you want to encourage men to abandon the European Tour and the PGA tour and go to the LIV tour, this is a good way to do that. This is not real competition. you want to beat the men as a woman? play under the same circumstances. Letting women play from shorter tees implies that they have a disadvantage in strength. Does a man with a disadvantage like having a broken leg get to play from shorter tees in competition? No.
