Lecture Series on Lingnan Traditional Architecture (12): Hidden Gems: Man Mo Temple and Kwong Fook Tsz in Sheung Wan
Speaker: Mr Leung Chung Kit, Vandesar (Assistant Senior Traditional Services Manager, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals)
Abstract:
Man Mo Temple and Kwong Fook Tsz, two historic buildings, in Sheung Wan are inseparably linked to the founding of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. They are important religious, cultural and charitable venues for the local Chinese in Hong Kong in the early years and have been witnessing the development and changes of Hong Kong over the past century. The speaker will introduce the architectural features of these two temples and their close connections with the Sheung Wan community and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
