    Absolutely loved this album \m/ Side note if you guys just uploaded the audio of the album reviews as like a podcast or something on streaming services, I'd 100% listen especially at work. Just an idea that came into my head lol

    It is a comeback of the decade for me and the album of the year, just can't imagine what possibly could top it.
    Catchy songs, brilliant production (and mastering! - not overcompressed as 90% of todays releases) - all one could wish for.

    Good Review. I have heard their previous three albums 'Instruments of torture', 'Festival of death' and 'Methods of execution'. It's some brutal shit. This is still a brutal album, but the production is alot better. You can actually hear riffs now. And there's a bit more variety, and even some atmosphere on this one. Wich is very welcome on a brutal blasting deathmetal album like this. 🤘

      Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! I picked up all their reissues last year and while it's definitely brutal as hell I really was a huge fan of it. I thought it was good but the rough production and kinda monotonous songwriting made it hard to get into. This is a huge improvement not only in the production but just the songwriting in general. There's more memorable riffs and some great dynamics in the songs. I really dig what their doing here and honestly I'm already looking forward to what they do next.

      I agree, their previous albums were brutal as hell, but also monotonous. The (muddy) production didn't help either. This new one is more enjoyable because of better production and songwriting. Can't wait to hear what's next.@@thrallsofmetal

    Disagree on Festival of Death, extremely brutal sounding album, with non clear sound. I like when it sounds somewhat raw in production. The first album was a little thin, the third a little muddy. But yeah, this fourth album's production is very very good, clear but still brutal. And totally agree on Brennans drumming. He is probably the most talented drummer they've had, not to take away from Cpt Killdrums, but Brennan adds some extra style and personality to his drumming that adds a lot to the music!

      Necrotic Nick- I only just became familiar with them last year when I got the reissues of their albums. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of all the earlier stuff but this one had some different wrinkles to it that gave it a fresh but brutal as hell sound.

    I watched your latest "States of Metal" episode and you brought up Vale of Pnath, which that band was the last pre-pandemic concert for you guys. Well, Vale of Pnath are gonna unleash their third full-length album on May 24th entitled Between the Worlds of Life and Death. It will be the first album with new frontman Ken Sorceron of Abigail Williams and formerly of The Faceless as well as new bassist Austin Rolla and drummer Gabe Seeber, who both joined last year.

      Necrotic Nick- I think their early stuff is decent. It's brutal as hell but I'm not the biggest fan of the production. Disgorge USA California, and Brodequin are the best Death Metal bands. They both have intelligent lyrics. And don't rely on the goofy Hip Hop Slam grooves. Brodequin offers something beyond the typical cartoon gross out Gore fest. Absolutely love all of Brodequin's album cover art, and Harbinger of Woe is a 5 star album in my opinion.

    • @thrallsofmetal
      @thrallsofmetal  6 месяцев назад

      Necrotic Nick- I'm still picky when it comes down to brutal death metal. I love the ferocity of the music but sometimes the deep, guttural burps really put me off. Brodequin definitely has something of their own going on with their lyrical themes and the more atmospheric moments on here though. I dig this one for sure.

    • @thrallsofmetal
      @thrallsofmetal  6 месяцев назад +1

      Necrotic Nick- I thought their earlier material was brutal but not that memorable and the production left a lot to be desired but this is killer honestly. It still has the brutality and outright savagery but that improved production value really lets all the riff work standout now.

    Pretty much agree 💯 percent with this review. The music in itself is a 4 out of 5 for me; brutal, intense and never overstays it's welcome with it's conciseness. But the monotonous and unintelligible vocals unfortunately don't do much for me, so I also end with a 3,5 out of 5 score.. 🤗

    • @thrallsofmetal
      @thrallsofmetal  6 месяцев назад +1

      Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, deep gutturals like these need to be broken up a bit. Even with Dying Fetus John's brutal belches are broken up with Sean's growls. Musically though I think a lot of this is killer and a huge step forward in terms of the songwriting and production. It's still retains it's brutal as fuck edge but also throws in some new spices to make it more than just rehash.

      @cbn6635 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@thrallsofmetal I once again agree, Nick! The loosely conceptual lyrics on the album are actually rather interesting, so it would be nice, if you could actually decipher them sonically. Speaking of the lyrics: I'm from Denmark, so I wanna mention the fact, that one of the tracks, namely 'Vredens Dag', is named after and based around a very famous Danish film (about witch trials) of the same name from 1947, directed by Carl Th. Dreyer.. a fact that goes well with the cool cover artwork, I thought... 🤗
