Cool. This place has been there since the late '40s, I believe. Still, hardly anyone has heard of it. I love the looks on people's faces when I mention it. "Archery WHAT?"
Very nice man! I go to that very same course sometimes. We normally use compound bows though. Generally it's easier at long ranges but very hard to "put" with. So we use "flu flu" arrows with huge feathers and nail tips to help with the putting. Otherwise a full draw at close range on a carbon arrow... well... You get the point.
Just my '' Opinion '' but I don't think you should be allowed to lean forward into the shot to get you closer to the ball on the stand. You should have to stay behind the line (imaginary of course) from where your arrow landed, just as if throwing darts. You don't lean way over the line to get yourself closer to the dart board, and I don't think you should here either. It's cheating in my '' Opinion ''.
Good point. Never really thought of it. There are a few allowances between private play and tournament. In private play, lots of people will knock the arrow and tap the ball if they're close enough on the last shot, and call that a shot. In tournament, you have to shoot, regardless of the distance. I'll look into the leaning forward thing and see if they mention it. Meantime, if you want to check, the rules are posted on the website.
I swear, I thought I was the only one that had thought of this. I'm glad other people are enjoying of my master thought :P

Interesting -- I've been wanting to try this.
This could be a great sport with really good archers and different rules ..like you have to take a shot of wild turkey every time you miss
Well, who's saying we don't have such "variations" on the game? ;-)
I will be coming from Oregon to partake. After all what's better than golf and archery
+Terry Gallagher (FunyFarm) Excellent. It opens sometime in May. Hope you enjoy it.
@TyLiermann Nail tip?
