  • In this video you will watch a patients journey through treatment at Sleep & TMJ Therapy. Our patient has Tourette's Syndrome, severe motor tics, and verbal tics. His motor tics started around the age of ten and the vocal tics showed up a year later. As you will see in this video, the patient responds very well to our appliance therapy. He is treated with the ALF and Gelb Appliance and his body is responding very well to the adjustments. Please remember that every patient is different and not everyone responds to treatment immediately. Our treatment involves many appointments to find which height the patient feels most comfortable with. Should you have more questions, please give our team a call at 703-821-1103.
Please feel free to share our video with your family and friends. Lastly, check out our website at www.sleepandTMJtherapy.com !

I was crying seeing this precious young guy suffering with this. I am a professional singer-guitarist-musician and youth pastor and I'd lost 10 years of my life because of a severely misaligned jaw TMJ joint. It is ashamed that so many primary care physicians and neurologists misdiagnose a TMJ issue of compression of various facial nerves. I pray that this mouth appliance will help restore the lost productivity and reactivity. Thank God for these amaing doctors-dentists who devised this appliance.

The relaxation seems akin to, what YOGA positioning and stretches do to the spine, with discharge of neuro-chemicals that relieve stress and produce relaxation. Great work reducing the symptoms. On a side note, we noticed that his neck thrusting backwards convulsively looks like tardive dyskinesia, and some of his tics (in particular the hands all over the face movement) look like tardive tics. To help advance treatments for TS, we are raising awareness about how these are common side effects of the meds used to treat TS. These articles analyze cases of TS where med side effects were mistaken for TS: rxisk.org/sarahs-tourette-syndrome-story/ and rxisk.org/robbies-tourette-syndrome-story/
