A New Batman Arkham Game Is Coming Out - Batman Arkham Shadow

- Batman Arkham Shadow is a new Batman Arkham VR game that is coming to Meta Quest 3. I never thought I'd type that sentence, but here we are. With all the current Arkham games, like Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Origins, Batman Arkham Knight and more, I really thought the series was either done, or we could finally see a proper sequel. Instead, we got Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League, and now a Batman Arkham VR game. Oh boy. #batmanarkham #batmanarkhamshadow #gaming

You all might feel completely differently, but this one doesn't really seem like it's for me. I'm honestly just disappointed with how DC has treated some of my favorite universes they've created. Jay I'm going to be honest with you man I am I'm just glad we're getting something that's not suicide squad after the whole thing with Batman with that lol
Sure it's VR and I don't have VR but hell we're getting a villain that we've never gotten before which is the rat catcher he's been teased forever and we've never gotten them
My favorite super hero game is Batman Arkham Knight
Can you pls talk about the lego games
VR changed alot from what you think so you don't need to adjust your room quest 3 can scan your room for space and object to move in and you can make it stationery or sit/standing position + can play from anywhere cause it is standalone you don't need PC for it
Also it is Improving alot with every new update this could be big if done right
Like assassin creed nexus
,asgard wrath 2 since they are made by or with help of oculus studio I believe they could do amazing job

I guess WB hates making money
At this point it’s not a guess anymore

WB: (announces a new Arkham game)
Me: YES! YES! YES!
(the new game is only on Meta Quest 3)
Me: NO! NO! NO!
Even when they did make another Arkham game, don't get your hopes up. These are not the same people who made the previous games.
Making an Arkham Origins sequel would've been super obvious and super easy, but instead the first Arkham game in 9 years and it's not only VR exclusive, but exclusive to a very specific model
WB continues to do everything but what people actually want
As for my favorite superhero game, outside of Arkham probably Ultimate Spider-Man. Loved the story and duality with Venom
The VR community has only an outdated tech demo for Arkham games, PC/Console has 4 full-length games people can play and replay whenever. And Rocksteady isn't spending any of their resources on this game, it's a Meta-owned studio. Did you expect them to make a PS5 game??
@@jacobp249 I didn't expect a Meta studio to make a PS5 game but I sure as hell didn't ask for the first Arkham game in almost a decade to be a VR shitshow

Um well this game actually looks like it’s taking place before asylum
I think they are doing this intentionally, just so they can turn around and say "see you guys didn't like batman, we made the new Arkham game you have been asking for nobody bought/liked it!" why they would want to do that, no idea, maybe it's to get back at the player base for poor reception of Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad.
It's a weird thought but it's also a weird step, and it's the only thing that makes it make sense in my mind.
Gaming companies lately just seem to be in the mindset of "people who play video games suck" so I really wouldn't put it past any of them
That would be a pointless and absurd argument. Companies don’t look to intentionally lie to others and themselves about where there is and isn’t money to be made.
Idk, this game has been in development probably before the criticism of suicide squad, they probably thought they could release anything and that's why they made a VR game, they are probably scared now. Lol

Thatll go so hard
@@KillerGrim47 It would but theres a ton of factors that people don't consider. To us Arkham origins sequel would make a ton of money however the community of arkham fans are still relatively small compared to the gaming industry as a whole. Like the akrham series don't make the same kinda money as a fallout or Mario game. Origins in it's first few years sold between 2 to 5 million (not 100% confirmed it's hard to look up) with city selling the most out of any game in it's first year. So yea while it seems to us that those games would make a ton of money, the sad reality that it just wouldn't make the money needed in today gaming world considering how more expensive games are. Which is why companies try the live service stuff since to them, it would make more then a single player game with just dlc.
They could have made these game years ago. They could have done a whole trilogy of Origin games.
@@dillydraws I get what you are saying but as far as I know the Arkham games are successful. I know that video games, maybe more than any other form of media are huge risks. However, most other successful franchises take advantage of their success at least until they are not successful. If this was a matter of them not wanting to touch the Arkham series because rocksteady stepped away that would be one thing. However, they are willing to use the series , just not to give people what they want. Live service games are a money making machine but these executives who spent years in school and in board rooms can't figure out what a ton of gamers can. That suicide game was never going to work. Every company wants us to play their looter shooter crap but there are only so many hours in the day. And if I am already super dedicated to a game why would I jump to yours? Arkham origins is actually my favorite superhero game. It’s very underrated and deserves a remake remaster or even a port I would love either of them.
I am guessing Meta paid WB for this. I have more questions than excitement right now. What is the story, gameplay, and length of this game going to be. Are VR boss battles or just fighting going to make people sick? And is that all going to be worth a Quest 3?
It will likely place between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum, and the main villain is ratcatcher. The length should be in the 10-20 hour range. There will be many comfort options for people that experience motion sickness. If it is worth getting a Quest 3 or the cheaper alternative likely in the 200-300$ range (Quest Lite) that is to be released in the coming months is up to you. Keep in mind though that this isn't the only AAA game coming to Quest. 4 major AAA titles are already confirmed to be coming 2024 (Batman, Metro, Alien, and Behemoth). There are many more games that will be announced in the coming months as well as the Quest Lite. You should wait and see if that will convince you.
You just know this game was pitched by some investor that's completely disconnected from the public and has no idea what we want
Honestly, I wouldn’t even be against having another game in the Arkham series. The passing of Kevin Conroy is tragic, but I feel like there’s still potential for the universe of that Batman. But this is not how you continue it.
I would’ve loved to see a battle for the style game. Where do you play as the three prominent robins in this universe as they deal with what Gotham is like post-Batman. Maybe they were encounter the demon and discover that faked his death and have to deal with that?
I would’ve happily taken any of those over kill the justice league and whatever this new VR game is going to be.
Have you even tried vr while you trashing it?? I’ve played flatscreen games and have never taken gaming seriously until I played vr. Ppl who have quest are excited for this drop you just hating cause you don’t have a quest. 😂😂 I’ll tell you how good the game is don’t worry lol
Rats? Looks like they gonna use Ratcatcher as villain. They will probably retcon something from comics again in order to do that. That's crazy.
Crazy? I was crazy once. They put me in a room. A room with rats. And rats made me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once...
I can't even watch someone else play vr without getting motion sickness
Unfortunately, that's something a lot of people don't think about, and the VR gaming community seems to generally have the attitude of "Well then too bad for you" about that issue.
@@DegenerateJayWhat should we do? There’s tons of tips of how you could minimize it or get rid of it, how should we “cure” motion sickness?
Spider man web of shadows is the Goat for me, having a good or evil play through for Spidey with the black suit was so cool, especially what they did with Wolverine and black cat
Lego Batman one is peak Superhero games, that or the first Marvel game. I highly recommend them, Jay!
My favourite superhero game is Batman Vengeance, I played this game when I was a kid and have completed it I don’t know how many times, it’s the most faithful game to the animated series and I think any Batman fan who has a ps2 or original Xbox should play it no question.
Some of the missions are tedious the Batmobile chase mainly but you soon get the hang of it and it’s great fun.
At this point, I just want a different studio to try and make a new Batman franchise. If a studio does, I hope they still have the same kind of combat system as Arkham. Maybe have Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker be the Batman and Joker in that universe
WB better give us something we want or I'm gonna have to get involved

Another Arkham game is announced after all these years, and a finger on the paw curls.
VR, Meta quest exclusive, not rocksteady… they had me fooled with Gotham knights and SSKTJL. Not again.
"It's not Rocksteady" is a dumb argument. They're not a VR company, why would they be making this? And would you be any happier if they were making it? Then people would just be complaining that Rocksteady is wasting their time on a VR game instead of a console game

It's probably a basic pick, but Spider-Man (2018) is just perfection in my eyes. The story, map, combat, details, acting -- everything is just top-notch. Hulk ultimate destruction, because it’s the best adaptation of the character and you truly feel like the hulk.
The future of Arkham Batman is absolutely dead to me now. Batman dying himself and the death of Kevin didn’t quite do it for me, because there was always another option. An Arkham Origins sequel was the most obvious, and now that I know they did it through Arkham Shadows has killed any last speckle of hope that I have for this franchise. It was great while it lasted. The most I could hope for is that this game leads to a proper Arkham Origins Sequel that comes out on consoles and PC, but that feels like an entire universe away.
Or at least a remaster/remake of origins on current gen. That would restore my faith.
Arkham knight was ahead of its time. If they kept that momentum and kept making bangers we might’ve had another game with Kevin Conroy.
I'm interested in it, I think it has potential, but mainly only if it's an actual full release of something, VR is loaded with potential, and if a major developer with the resources actually put the work in, I think it could easily be one of the best games of all time.
But I reserve my enthusiasm.
I also question the choice from a business perspective.
I'm not as cynical as most, I think it can either be a step back in the right direction if it's been decently developed, or it might dig a deeper hole for WB.
I reserve my judgement like I should've done with Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad.
I refuse to get on any hate or hype trains without a solid result. Though I'm just one person, without a doubt, there'll be people hating and harassing the devs over the fact it's an exclusive, and those who are going to get hyped just because it's finally an Arkham game.
Who knows, it could be something to test the waters, like a prequel to a new, mainstream Arkham game, like VR was for Knight.
You gotta talk about Incredible Hulk ultimate destruction 😫 best of the ps2 superhero game era

X-Men Legends 2 is one of my favorite games of all time
I mean, I am not upset that this is coming out. But putting aside the fact as the last VR game showed the gameplay, probably going to be fairly limited compared to the other titles, they are severely limiting the market by having an exclusive to a specific headset
just wait for it to come out
This is exactly what people want, a game to miss out on.
The only way this would be redeemable is if it's a full-on Arkham Knight Arkham City like game but you're just in VR
Marvel ultimate alliance is probably my favorite superhero game, specially now that i can look back and see how a lot of heroes were characterized before the MCU and the diablo inspired gameplay is pretty cool
we could've had origins 2 instead of this
I'm probably in the few that's kind of excited about this cause I've been wanting a proper Batman vr game for the longest time. The reason Batman Arkham vr wasn't good was cause it was released at a time when there wasn't really a market for vr and there weren't a lot of actual vr games. At the time it was more a gimmick. But now there is a larger market so I feel its more likely to be a full fledged vr game rather than a 1 hour demo. Plus with them finally returning to a batman focused "Arkham game" it might mean that maybe there could be a proper Arkham game in the works and this could just be to get more people interested in Arkham before they announce it. Purely speculation but who knows. I'm just happy cause I always wanted a proper vr Batman game. But I'm still skeptical so I need to see gameplay first.
WB has never heard of the concept of reading the room
Why does every other batman video project has to have the arkham label now?
Cash grab, they think the title alone could sell
1:53 X-Men Legends 1 & 2, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, 2, & 3, Spider-Man Web of Shadows, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time. All bangers worth your time.
I have to tell you why? Becauae, they're fun and pretty amazing parts of comic book fandom that surpass the standards of today.
I love VR, I think it’s one of the best ways to experience video games. Sucks that most of the world thinks it’s a gimmick. When you all sigh that you’re not getting your Arkham flat game, I sigh seeing the thousands of people who won’t give VR a chance.
I’m not sure how I feel about this and making this a Meta Quest exclusive is kinda a crappy thing to do. But Camouflaj did do a great job with Iron Man VR, so I’ll reserve judgment until we see how the game turns out.
I don't love VR but the tech has gotten so much better with the quest 3. 2 years ago Google started investing in two VR companies to improve it. With the technical aspects of the recent VR games including the assassins creed games shows me that VR is also about to launch and become more Mainstream. Kids who are growing up right now might make VR the next big entertainment industry.
That intro was sick
The way I've been looking at it I prolly won't play it but I think it's cool for 2 reasons more arkham batman content and lore and its showing they're still willing to try with this character and stories in HIS universe
I like Arkham Knight the most just from a gameplay perspective. Having Jason Todd as a Playable Character was great and if they had a free roam option for everyone then heck yeah. From a story perspective Arkham City
This sounds amazing. You guys are insane.
Spider-Man Edge of Time was an amazing game. I loved the characterization of Peter and Miguel and the story was spectacular. I won’t spoil the story but I love how the story went where the original 2099 Spider-Man writer wasn’t able to go to. This game to me shows the true 2099 Spider-Man rather than the Across the Spider verse film.
I feel like this is a weird project but hey let's play it by ear it might be good
Issue is even if it’s good most people who are interested can’t and won’t play.

Great points. I would love this if it was Arkham origins 2 on console
You inspired me to make my own video about this
My favorite superhero game is LEGO Batman 2. It's partly nostalgia--that's the game that largely got me into gaming and into superheroes, but it's also a solid game. It really nails the relationship between Superman and Batman, feeling faithful to the characters but also appropriate for a LEGO game. And exploring Gotham as one of a variety of different DC characters is just fun. (LEGO Marvel 1 is a close second. It has a lot of quotable dialog that I still think about a lot.)
To answer the question in the beginning of the video, the InFamous series on PlayStation will always be my favorite Superhero game as it not only allows you to play the hero but the villain as well.
Favourite super hero game is easily arkham knight. Also, i think vr gets more hate than it needs. The large majority of people think the tech is still in its 2016 era, but the features and games have evolved so much. The idea that vr games are just short experiences is just false. Take assassins creed vr, 12+ hour game with side content, large open stage level design and great parkour and stealth. This game has also been in development for a long time, prior to the release of suicide squad. Finally, yeah. as a big vr player i was hoping the next entry was a real vr game, we already have 4 great mainline games in the series. It has alot of potential
The games that I would love to see on VR are the Bioshock games
Dude I’d love that ngl
Jay kinda feels like the cool uncle that you can rant about nerdy things with
I'm excited for this
I'd say my favorite superhero game is ultimate alliance, because it is just so awesome. It is a one of a kind game, because it covers an insane amount of the marvel universe that was just so awesome. I love the dialogue easter eggs and the fact that you can choose four characters that have completely unique abilities, and it was awesome especially for its time. Arkham origins comes in a close second
As someone who recently got a quest 3 I'm interested to see how this turns out
Rocksteady use to be what we love. Now they are the shit we hate.
for a while there was a leaked batman game in the works by the developers shown, Nothing 'arkham' was mentioned. Not that I'm complaining but some people were exited for the reveal of that game
Lets not hate until we see a gameplay trailer. Batman Arkham VR was released in 2016. VR was just starting back then and it was expensive. Now there are plenty of good full length games for VR with titles like Metro and Alien releasing this year. I have been playing VR since 2019 and I dont play flatscreen games anymore because they lack the complete immersion that VR offers. In VR games you are not playing the character, you become the character. I just wish more people would try what VR has to offer today before commenting that it is a gimmick when they have not played VR at all or played it 6 7 years ago. Hope the game is good. Peace out.
My favorite superhero game is really tough for multiple reasons. If we're talking about my favorite from a gameplay and overall enjoyment, I'd say Marvel's Spider-Man 2017. If we're wanting to add in the factor of "how the game made me feel" then I'd say it's honestly a toss up between the 4 Arkham games. I have always been a superhero fan, but had never heard of those games. I randomly got Arkham Asylum for Christmas when I was 12, and I COMPLETELY fell in love with it. I got so enamored by the atmosphere that it actually scared me at times. City was one of my first open world type games, so it blew my mind. I remember spending hours upon hours wandering the city and finding everything. Origins is special to me because I played the hell out of it in the Winter on a ton of snow days. Knight was awesome for me because it was so vast, I loved the story, I really love Jason Todd, and the Batmobile. At that point, I had grown up with those games so when it came time for the "finale" game, I was at my best.
TLDR if you don't wanna read the TedTalk.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2017 or Arkham
Oh, I can't play this new game btw, my wheelchair kinda prevents VR. Yay for being left out
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcome 3 is definetly my favorite superhero game, and my favorite video game of a all time.
My favorite superhero game is probably spiderman web of shadows just because of nostalgia,It was the last game I got for Christmas from my dad and Played with him watching the year he passed. So yea web of shadows is my favorite superhero game of all time it woulf be cool if they remastered it.
This is NOT arkham world 😨
Me ! And all VR gamer.thanks meta ! After, alien and métro à batman game 😊
They brought back Roger Craig Smith though! That’s a positive!
Wait is it confirmed he’s back?
@@ToBy11334 Basically. He reposted the trailer on his socials and who else is reasonably going to voice Batman?
I got excited for a split-second when I saw the words "Arkham Shadow" pop up in my notifications but that instantly got knocked out of me. Really, VR? After almost a decade, the next Arkham-game is *that* ? I wouldnt care as much if the franchise hadnt been dead for years, only to return and immediatly die again with Suicide Squad, but this feels more like throwing salt in a wound.
