You can handle this whole apartment thing! If you have to take some money from sinking funds do that too! You do what works for you. As a parent of grown children, the best Christmas gift my child could give me is time and being well themselves.
Omg moving is definitely hard , not fun at all . But you’re definitely going to make it through . Also, something I wasn't planning for well I was but not until next year so it was just so out of sudden. Now, my house is currently under renovation, but we're happy and we're excited and my daughter keeps telling me she wants to go to her room lol

Mine just increased as wel but thankfully by not a crazy amount. I also just had to dip into my yearly savings which is sad but…. Its so disheartening to hear what they are doing to you with your apartment but I think your approach to it is smart! This is exactly what savings is for but it’s hard to use it when we need it! Sorry you’ve had some things come up that you weren’t planning for. You’re doing a great job and I support what you want to do with your own money. What I’ve done with my budget in these situations is put all extra money toward the thing that I need in a short turnaround and put other things on the back burner temporarily. Perhaps do the minimum for your car and then any extra cash goes straight to saving for your apartment expenses. I know it sucks in the short term, but for me I would rather put debt or savings goals on hold to pay for other things that are needed rather than deplete savings. Ultimately you have to do what you have to do and you are the one that knows your budget the best. Sending virtual hugs your way! I live in England and have a private landlord, I love living where I am and so it was a really big shock when I had an email out of the blue that I was being evicted because the owner wants sell ! I did get 3months notice unlike you but the eviction notice was sent by email 😱 . I quite understand how you had a wobbly for a couple of weeks, I did too, I just hope that there is happier time’s ahead for both of us, and you are not alone, keep strong like you always have been. Girl I feel you. My rent went up an insane amount for this year. Unfortunately, every other place in my area is the same price - it seems like it’s just a consequence of the economy of our times right now. I hate how much prices are increasing, it’s really hurting. I’m really thankful that I live and share expenses with my fiancé because I would have no choice but to move in with my parents with the way things are right now.

Rent rates and increases have been crazy in the last year or two. I’ve actually recently got a roommate because of it. And I haven’t had a roommate since college and that was a while ago.

Hey Monet!! I’m still watching your video! But girl it’s awful how these apartment complex raise the rent! My increase was 18.1%!!! This was in October I got the letter they don’t give you much time either it’s the most frustrating thing!! And rent else where here in Florida where I live is MUCH HIGHER then what my rent went up to so I’m STUCK I can’t move because I can’t afford it and the n the whole 3xs the rent is TRASH!!! We not getting 18% increase for our paychecks!! And I don’t wanna live in the hood to pay cheaper rent! So I just stayed and extended my lease to 15 months to lock in the rate. And since then I’ve been saving for that next increase because I’m already gonna plan for another massive increase!!! I’ve been saving $50 since November from each paycheck to just stock pile money for future rent!! I’m glad you found a place I hope you get approved 🙏🏽🎀

I’m sorry to hear about your apartment and car situations, that’s awful! I’m sure it’s super frustrating. You’re so organized and methodical, though, that I bet your next place will be even better and I bet there are hidden blessings just around the corner!!! While I was watching your video, I got an Uber Eats sandwich delivered (two sandwiches for $35+ which is another story - and thankfully it was a gift), but when I unwrapped it there was only the bun, meats, and cheese. No mayo, no mustard, no veggies, no hot peppers, no seasoning (and it’s a sandwich that’s supposed to come with “the works” which is what makes it delicious). Apparently I forgot to add those in the app because I thought that’s what came standard 😩 So yeah, just me sitting over here eating my floppy dry sandwich 😭😂 Obviously nowhere near what you’re going through, but frustrating no less, and also kinda funny, and hopefully at least gives you a laugh! You’ll get through this!!
Also this totally ages me but I used to LOVE Sim Farm which pre-dates the Sims. If you’ve never heard of it, you’ll have to look it up, you’ll be shocked that we used to play such basic games 😂

Wow, I’m sorry you’re dealing with all of that. I hate change too. I don’t deal with uncertainty well at all. I hope you get approved for the new apartment. I also feel like depending on how much they increased your rent, they may be doing it illegally. Some states only allow for a certain percentage increase on rent. Either way, I wish you the best, and I hope the move is smooth!

Rent increases have been outrageous recently! I hate moving as well so I know how you feel. I don’t think I have ever heard you mention home ownership. Is that a goal of yours after you are debt free?

Hey Monet!! I’m still watching your video! But girl it’s awful how these apartment complex raise the rent! My increase was 18.1%!!! This was in October I got the letter they don’t give you much time either it’s the most frustrating thing!! And rent else where here in Florida where I live is MUCH HIGHER then what my rent went up to so I’m STUCK I can’t move because I can’t afford it and the n the whole 3xs the rent is TRASH!!! We not getting 18% increase for our paychecks!! And I don’t wanna live in the hood to pay cheaper rent! So I just stayed and extended my lease to 15 months to lock in the rate. And since then I’ve been saving for that next increase because I’m already gonna plan for another massive increase!!! I’ve been saving $50 since November from each paycheck to just stock pile money for future rent!! I’m glad you found a place I hope you get approved 🙏🏽🎀
Yes it’s crazy right now. Even the rent here for places has gone up dramatically. But I know I can find a lesser place than what they are trying to charge me 🤦🏾♀️. We just have to get through it. It’s nice to hear that you have a plan and are preparing for the future!

While I was watching your video, I got an Uber Eats sandwich delivered (two sandwiches for $35+ which is another story - and thankfully it was a gift), but when I unwrapped it there was only the bun, meats, and cheese. No mayo, no mustard, no veggies, no hot peppers, no seasoning (and it’s a sandwich that’s supposed to come with “the works” which is what makes it delicious). Apparently I forgot to add those in the app because I thought that’s what came standard 😩 So yeah, just me sitting over here eating my floppy dry sandwich 😭😂

Here I have to pay 1st months rent, a deposit, and yearly amenity fees for the apartment complex if I’m accepted.
