- When GOAT Recognizes GOAT!
Jordan and Federer have been good friends and fans of each other for quite a few years now. However, the two took their relationship to a whole new level with a special collaboration.
“I am nervous for Roger Federer” - Michael Jordan
In 2014, the two legends collaborated to help design a new Federer shoe inspired by a classic 1988 Air Jordan model. Subsequently, Jordan came as a special guest in Roger Federer’s courtside box at the Grand Slam tournament.
It was one of the best matches of Roger Federer's career, one of his best performances ever!

Lol theyre saying Roger is old and still fantastic, 7 years later he’s still there on the top: GOAT
we will see in paris, how on top he really is.
Nice rigged ATP rankings.
@@-theislander-5888 Nadal is a BEAST, Roger too... And Djokovic but these two... History... Just history... We got to enjoy their last year/s
Djokovic is the GOAT
I realize Djokovic and Rafa have winning records over him, but, for me, Roger will always be the greatest. Nobody has ever played the game with such beauty, elegance, and virtuosity.
... until he faces GOAT's
Theres two that have played it better.
Steven Norris naw
@@stevennorris7181 oh yeah, Rafa's "played it better" by not being able to beat a 33+ year old grandpa even in a single match outside of clay for the last SEVEN years 😂😂
Roger Federer has a strong case for goat because of eight Wimbledon‘s and five US opens in a row (Mostly agreed to be the two most important of four grand slams), which the other two rivals cannot meet, even if they can manage to match or exceed his 20GS titles :-)
...And yes elegance, pure passion and thoughtfulness, all while not especially being heavily built or especially any superhuman physique. He just has a great mind and great balance, Which has afforded him his unbeatable longevity and great comeback where he has proven to overcome Rafael Nadal outside of the French Open, as mentioned above. He has proven that he can still beat Novak Djokovic which she did at the ATP to her finals recently. And also in last year’s Wimbledon even though he lost the key points at the end of three sets in the finals overall he played better at old age against the youngest of the big three. He has reached more grand slam finals than anyone else, because he just has so many tools and plays his best throughout matches he is the one player who uniquely has the most matches were he won more points and manage to still lose, because in tennis you especially just need to hold serves and win the last couple points in a row of one more Set than your opponent.
The most intelligent sports interview I’ve ever seen. Questions the audience wants to hear, and answers from one of the world’s greatest ever athletes that are direct, educated, sympathetic and genuinely nicely delivered. My compliments to the reporter, who nailed it, and my thanks to Michael (and Roger) for the years of delight and viewing pleasure they have both consistently delivered.
that intro is so fire every time
I agree
I miss the anime lol
What’s the name of the song ?
Rodolphe tk rainy days - naruto
angelthman then just watch the content man. The channel owner is obviously a nadal fan, let him be
Lol imagine the emotions and thoughts going through Matosevic when he is center of the attention of Roger and Micheal at the same time. I would explode from the feelings going through me
@MUFC if you are a soccer fan then what are you doing here???
@@sanjaykumarpal290 LOL, anyways
@MUFC soccer is so much popular because it's cheap. A ball and you're set up, so every kid plays it around the world. But McDonalds is the biggest restaurant company in the world, around 60 millions people eat there every day. Does that make it great ? I'm not even American, but i'd be sad if football/baseball/basketball were outshined by soccer.
@@gilmourwanabe2958 its a bot that goes on every sport video, dont worry bout it
04:50 Mary Joe Fernandez performed one of the greatest Michael Jordan interviews in History. She killed it with the history of his accolades and sealed it with the twins.
what determines a good interview?
fahfo the most comfortable that the person being interviewed feels, the better the interviewer is
Some say the reporter is still whispering questions in Jordan’s ear to this day.
fancy seeing u here chase
Fuck dude. I used to watch you way back when you used to record Dungeon Boss videos.
havent seen your channel in years, used to watch your respawnables videos all the time way back in the day
Wtf chase, I use to watch ur critical ops videos all the time
At least they were good questions
“Matosevic has made 1.5 million in his career, roger probably made that tonight”
italkcrab the issue is that there is less of a crowd. Less watchers. Less money
italkcrab "the most tiring sports of all"
LMAO, swimming, cross country skiing, triathlon, road cycling and rowing says hi
Maybe not the most tiring sport, but definitely for the pros one of the tiring tour schedules and not having hardly any off season, only about a month at the year-end (except for this year of course).
*1.6!
@@theaviator1152 *$2 million now 6 years later, according to Wiki-how much Matosevic has made in his career...
If it was still only 1.6M, I was going to say, did he have to retire early or his game collapse? 😅
Only a goat can impress a goat
This guy is as articulate as many professional speakers
Roger has the most beautiful backhand you will ever see in tennis.
i cant believe theyre conducting an interview during play.
imagine that during Wimbledon haha
Matosevic actually played a great match and lost it in straights...
Right, he was playing pretty solid. But Roger is a hard court monster and he can do half volleys from the baseline taking time away from his opponent, and the harder the ball, the faster Roger can get it past him. Like Roddick tried so many times, out powering Roger doesn't quite work, you have to out manoeuvre him, or out rally him like nadal and djokovic do.
Are you serious? look what he missing...
Lets just take a minute to appreciate the exceptional quick interview
I was drawn in really fast, very good
Golden legend in universal Michael Jordan mind blowing personality
Federer is poetry in motion... that's what MJ is trying to say...
guys Matosevic now lives in Bali and does some amazing tennis coaching there and in fact I have had private lessons with him and a camp with him for 2 weeks. he's just a genius
That's actually awesome!
Really,? Then he must have gotten a lot smarter over the past few years. In 2008 and 2009 we hosted him at our house while playing futures and challenger events at our club in Sacramento. Back then he was about 450 in the world. Nice guy but not the smartest tool in the shed.
I'm a hardcore Rafa fan but I'd say Roger is the GOAT. his beauty, elegance and genius is just something else. Love watching these GOATs play
Roger has got style elegance, class and beauty. Rafa is the GOAT.
@TheAstrius Nadal has been focusing on Grand Slams more ever since his miraculous return from that terrible 2015-2016 injury ridden phase, and using his energy in a very calculated way, unlike Djokovic who just plays around the world winning titles. May all blessings be with him, but we shall see how long Djoko is able to do that. NOW , other than that I'm not a big fan of "Nadal is just a clay expert" argument. That's so 2008. For God's sakes the man has more US Open Titles than Djokovic, who is supposed to be a hard court expert. Nadal is just one title away from the all time record of 5 in US. He may very well have repeated his 2019 victory there this year if he hadn't pulled out due to COVID rescheduling issues. Nadal's style of play requires a lot of power and energy, so he unfortunately can't go around winning all the time. That's the only reason he isn't number one. If you observe, you'll see that an injury-free, well-rested energetic Nadal is Still almost unbeatable in most courts. If he doesn't fare well on certain turfs , that's almost always because his team decided that it's not worthy to waste energy and risk injury everywhere ( Case in Point: Nadal lost 3-0 to schwartzman a week prior to French Open, only to DEMOLISH schwartzman and Djokovic in French Open like it was NOTHING).

How we say here in Brazil for elegant soccer players: Federer plays with suit! How elegant he is playing this sport!
one goat entertaining another goat classic
WTF is wrong with these commentators? Seems like they'd rather be running around Jordan for autographs than watch the game. Also what's with the constant assumption that Federer is anxious of Jordan's presence?
Only reason I can think of is that Federer is a huge fan of Michael Jordan and that Jordan was his idol when he was young
@@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten so is all the legends that come watch him at wimbledon..
That is fair although Itd be reasonable to assume that he would want to perform better if his good friend came to watch him who also happened to be his idol when he was young.
Jordan is so good at answering questions
roger’s backhand is just ✨
4:21 sick backhand
what a great professional interview .
man these courts are visibly sooo much faster than today’s hard courts
wow the ball court control of roger is out of this world
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how good that interview was? 🥇 👏
I understand Matosevic frustration, I remember that match and him playing very good tennis, despite this lost 3-0, I think he thought "I'm playing great, I would win today against 99% of tennis players... fuck!". 😎
MJ and RF = two goats

I just love the way Federer's opponent was vexed on 9.42 and 10.00.
Am I the only one enjoying MJ's voice?
I was actually at this match! My first USO trip ever and I said beforehand, “I just want to see Roger do a tweener,” so when he did I lost my mind
Hahaha that's actually awesome!

All jokes aside, really cool that you watched the game in person!

I’m wondering, what happened to him...
Why don’t we see the point at 17:02 more often?! Amazing
It's more like "The day Michael Jordan and Roger Federer entertained Matosevic".

I’ve always wanted that shoe
Lol I literally watch your channel for two things, the tennis, and the intro 👌🏽
Federer: *Entertaining Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan: *Being Entertained
Commentators: *Shitting on Matosevic
i want that shoe!
I hope Michael realizes he's watching one of the greatest athletes of all time! To play that effortless elegant. style requires mad athleticism!
Jordan is the most elegant basketball player ever and Federer the most elegant tennis player of all time. Both are second to none in their sports.
Forget Roger, Matosevic was playing insanely good! Bravo sir. Unranked against Prime Fed should have been slaughtered.
Best shot in the game! 11:04
Can you hit like that?
This intro is really good! I am going to sub becuz u entertain me and ur intro is SICK
Thank you ❤️
The intro Makes me cry
I don't know which one is greater. Roger in tennis or Michael in basketball.
11:10 for the gratuitous tweener
looks like Sean Hannity at 14:24 lol
Poor Matosevic, but it was funny when Fed accidentally hit him in the behind with the ball, like an extra humiliation.
Rogers reaction over the tweener hitting Matosevic was hilarious.
it was pretty hilarious to watch the ball hit marinko haha. he played with us during my dads birthday and he told us about this, i didnt believe him till i watched the clip myself
Haha that's amazing ❤️
11:35 made me chuckle 😆
Didn't know there was a Jordan/Federer shoe!
Commentators have clearly never played tennis before
goat and goat
"Have you ever openly spoken to yourself? I don't think I have"
O.o literally see people doing this all the time ...
Yeahhh Michael
tennis announcers were so bad back in the day
There always have been good announcers. Sometimes for the first round, even at the US Open they may not have the best ones though. But Luke Jensen, the main commentator here, wasn’t bad in his own right during his career though especially in doubles, and could serve off both sides. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Jensen
Check out the us open final 2011, 🤮🤮

*16:00** I thought that was a young Donald Thrump.*
Michael Jordan time: 4.53 watching RF whuu. Thank you xo
is this really 2014? THe graphics make it look like it's 1992
Something about “Owner of the Charlotte Hornets” being Michael Jordan’s tagline just seems off... I don’t think MJ even needs one
it introduces Charlotte Hornets not MJ
Ikr, most people probably aren't even aware that he's the owner of the Hornets. They could have put "actor from Space Jam" and more people would recognize that fact.
Was that Sean Hannity not throwing the ball back at 14:25 ??
Shit the intro is on 🔥
IMO, roger is goat since he can at least be number 2 in all eras, cant say the same with rafa and novak.
Hilarious comment @15:12 by Matosevic!
Michael Jordan : Owner, Charlotte Hornets. LMAO the title is insulting.
6:47 I love how they give michael jordan a description as if there is anyone who doesn't know who mj is.
The chance is low, but still not zero
My grandparents have no clue and they watch tennis.
I only knew that he was a basketball legend but never knew he was 6 times NBA champion ..... So everybody needs a description
You will be surprised about how many people who don't know much about him, Basketball isn't really a huge sport outside the USA .
agree ...
he is ali lvl.
When Matosevic tries to imitate Federer’s backhand. @4:25
Damn imagine being Matosevic in that game
I forgot what it's like to watch a match where neither player grunts😳
One damn ad after another when my moderate speed internet has to stop to buffer after every one makes this not worth the aggravation.
11:00 oh yeah

Thank you :))
Sean Hannity?
It's gotta be the shoes.
3:14 listen close
When you entertain jordan in sports especially thats says more than alot
Basket ball is big in USA and ... well USA.
Mate the aussie is literally wearing full tradies !!! Lmao
Ok reporter, lets put Jordan back on the shelf and get back to the match!
5:49 is his earring glued or is it for real? lol
When you are a good tennis player facing a legend.🤷🏻♂️
Rf vs Mj
Who would win in running comp if they were both in their 20s?
Federer for sure!! Fed has been top in the world for as long as we can remember 🙏😮🎾🏆
I think more than simply running (there maybe some others who could run as fast or faster, although MJ’s jumping was great!), these goat’s respectively were so talented and skilled that they could plan, anticipate and react extremely quickly as part of their great overall package. Roger’s hands and catlike reflexes as well as gracefulness around the court is unmatchable. MJ learned well from his older brother and practiced harder than any other, and as he said here mastered the fundamentals, on top of his athleticism especially jumping and working with his team, the Bulls, to win the most. Roger also has mastered so many classical fundamentals in tennis for great balance and play, so he could also hit amazing shots sometimes never or rarely hit by anyone else to be a champion.
mj
matoseevic look heartbroken at times.
Is someone going to address these rude commentators
6:15
What happened to Matosevic? I liked his game.
He said he lost his pace, went vegan in order to try combat it but generally never recovered. Now resides in Bali, coaching at the Tennis Centre there. I made good friends with him this summer
@@Patigoooool That's too bad because he was very talented. It seemed to me that his weakest part of his game might have been his mental focus. At that level, mental focus can make the difference between winning a tournament or not. Thanks for the update and please let him know that he still has many fans that miss seeing him play.
Patigoooool, lost his pace? What does that mean? How would going vegan solve that?
@@owenbenjaminshapiro6285 Supposedly, that is what Novak did and raised his physical fitness to another level and he started winning more consistently.Novak is on some super strict diet.
@@theexmann from what I read, Novak just had a gluten intolerance, causing him to feel low on energy. He doesn't eat strict vegan, occasionally fish and maybe eggs
