I love Salem. My 9th great-grandfather was Gilles Cory(who was pressed to death by stones) during the Salem witch trials so Salem holds a special place in my family’s history. My 9th great-grandmother was his first wife who died before the witch trials started. She is buried in the old cemetery and we found her grave. Sadly because Giles was accused of witch craft he was denied a christian burial and had no grave. We left flowers on his memorial stone. My daughter ,grandson and myself visited in October of 2015 and I highly recommend an October visit to everyone.
Is that your great grandfather who says " more weight" ? I grew up in the town next to Salem, back then all those towns were Salem Village . Thanks for sharing.
@@josephigillis Yes, it was. Giles was able to keep his land and positions for his children by refusing to ever enter a plea. According to ENGLISH LAW at that time, unless a party entered a plea of guilty or innocent(and then naturally found guilty) the governing body could not take his property. That is why my 9th great-grandfather only responded with “MORE WEIGHT” which could NOT be misinterpreted as any type of plea to the charges. Often when a prisoner refused to enter any plea-that prisoner was tortured-often by “pressing” to force a plea.
Sucks your family history is filled with witchcraft
Wow, that's really interesting. Thanks for sharing . I've thought about your great grandfather many times over the yrs.
Your great grandfather was killed in 1692? I think your math is off. Maybe great, great, great, great.
So much history in one place. I'm writing a book that takes place in Salem and stumbled upon this video. Glad I did, thank you.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I hope your book is a success 😎🎃🤘
I used to work not to far from Salem mass. So I used to visit every once in a while. It’s one of the places a lot of people must visit especially in October. If there’s one thing I know about Salem is: The people in Salem take their Spookyness very seriously. They absolutely love the spookyness and horror that comes with Halloween They don’t mess with that. So if you love Halloween 🎃 go check it out and see it for yourself. I am from NH and I think it’s pretty cool.
Thanks for your comment and watching 🎃👻✌️
Yes finally mostly every video it’s someone who talks and flips the camera on themselves for like 80% of the video. This is perfect
Thanks! I have a night time Salem walk video coming out end of the month! 🎃👻
2:01 The descendants of Rebecca Nurse still run a family farm in Westborough, Ma called Nourse Farms. I grew up working there. Amazing story.
Wow that’s amazing to hear!! I would’ve loved to see that. Thanks for sharing!!
Great video! Enjoyed seeing the sights as you walked around
Thank you very much!! We were there on a Monday thru Wednesday so it was a lot less hectic compared to the weekends haha. It was also the first week of October so that helped! Thank you very much for checking out my channel 😎🤘
This was absolutely so cool, Nick. I love the way you presented it, and the background music. There's so much to see. It's smart to have gone when you did... close enough to Halloween, but not on the actual date. very enjoyable, and historical
🎶🧙♀️👏👏
Thank you so much Rhonda! And you’re right about the timing! When we went in 2019 we were there week before Halloween. It was cool to see it then BUT crazy packed, so much traffic, couldn’t get a reservation to eat anywhere LOL. So we planned differently this time. I’ll have a night walking tour video coming up later in the month 🎃😎🤘
This is a great video I love it thank you for sharing it
Glad you enjoyed it!
This video was pretty cool, thank you bro!
Glad you enjoyed!! I have an entire Salem playlist if you’re interested. And will be going back there this October to film more 😎✌️
may roddamand lusi mind their own business
Thank you for the tour, with no interrupted talking!
Glad you enjoyed thanks!
Was there for Halloween 2022. My second time in Salem. It was so crowded. This must have been weeks before Halloween. I love Salem so much and might be headed there now.
This was filmed the first week of October and this was on a Monday/Tuesday so yea it’s a lot less crowded then Halloween on a weekend lol. We love Salem as well can’t wait to go back 😎✌️
I love spooky stuff. My home town has a massive graveyard. Would love to go here some time during halloween
It’s a special place during the whole month of October! Thx for watching 😎✌️

I had ancestors that were involved in the Salem witch trails.
Wow that’s interesting! Thanks so much for sharing that info and watching 😎🤘
I lived in Salem for a while just one thing the locals hate October, to much people for a small town lol and traffic is insane in that month.
I can imagine! We usually like to go in September before it gets nuts. That still must’ve been really cool to live there! Thanks for watching 😎✌️🎃
I love Salem sm !!!!

Returning to Salems lot
Parts of America (for obvious reasons) remind me of Britain. Just like the provinces outside London, tried to imitate the latest architectural styles from London you end up with a wide arrange of variations in what building material was local to the region. The same with America, although more so it was done in wood. I would love to go here for Halloween, I have always loved Halloween and despite the UK having history and lots of old buildings (I myself grew up in a 200 year old cottage but this isn't common - just like most Americans don't live in pre 1800 houses). However it's only really been the last 20 years or so that Halloween has become popular. In the north of England, we have a town in the county of Yorkshire called Whitby (famous for been mentioned where Dracula landed in Bram Stokers Dracula and where Captain James Cook was from). Whitby hosed a musical events for Goths called Whitby Goth Weekend, where people from the Goth subculture would spend 3 days going to clubs, seeing bands, markets all in a lovely old town. In recent years it's been taken over by the general public as a place to go for Halloween and dress up.
Thanks for such a great comment and sharing your story! I hope you can make it to Salem someday. Thanks for watching 😎✌️
This was fun. I loved in that town Salem Massachusetts back in 1980-82. I'm sure since then? Some new stuff has been put in the city. I also use to take the Witch city taxi service at times back then . Salem Massachusetts is a very interesting city and vibrant with its rich history. I'm a native New Yorker from the Bronx originally. I currently live in Albuquerque and have been here since the late 80s. A few of my friends and me are going back east there this summer. We are going to hit the Big Apple then drive up to the Boston area. I plan to take my friends into Salem . I also remember the popular witch that was there Laura Cabot ? Anyway Essex Street still looks good just as it did back when I lived there. Again ? Thanks for sharing this as well as bringing back a few memories of the great city in the North Shore region there. Happy New Year
Thanks so much for the nice comment! Very glad you enjoyed happy new year!!
My love for Halloween has been dying over the years and I believe going to Salem in October could restore it. However there are some flaws to that, the weather, crowded streets, and traffic. I sure hope it goes smoothly despite all that
My favorite time to go is end of September OR the very first week of October 🎃
unfortunately the best time off I could get was the 3rd week of October @@TravelswithNick
Beautiful walk 😊
Thank you!! 🎃👻
The gray-head which in the beginning of the video took my spot that day😊 I normally sat in the front that year and carved wands I'm Raven, even though I've been making wands for about 15 years the town and the museum purchases them off me and thousands of tourist . Over the past three years the town magistrate permitting office continues to screw me up why don't they just let me buy a damn permit. They've moved me around and still the cops harass. I've been on the museum's payroll for my I do a limited edition every and newer stores want
During this time of year, I live right next door to salem, and it's spooky!
That’s great! Thanks for watching we love Salem 🎃😎✌️
I used to live there it's OK
That’s awesome 😎
@TravelswithNick it was a fun place to live but Halloween gets crazy and it's hard to get in and out but there's some good restaurants and bars and you see a lot of strange people walking around in black cloaks in the middle of the summer
I love Salem witch
What time of year did you film this? Was this a week day? Looks perfect there!
This was first week of October we filmed Monday and Tuesday. I recommend going week days in October rather than wkds 🎃✌️
I miss Salem - I wish I never had to move away
Such a beautiful place. Thx for watching!!
Музыка удручающая
Sign in coffee shop says 42 days until Halloween. I guess October has at least 42 days... 🤔
This was filmed a few years ago so not sure how many days it is currently lol
It’s definitely a special place during Halloween. It use to be 10 times what it is now but you know! Covid stopped all that!
Hopefully it’ll get back to what it used to be. Thanks for watching!
It looks as though every one is dressed for hot weather and the trees are still very green. When does it start to cool off and the leaves change colors?
I think we filmed this the first week of October a few years back. It can still get warm there in Pctober depending on the year. I think leaves tend to to change colors closer to end of October early November
Levitating the covenant art
I went on a Field Trip to Salem when I was in High School and I would love to go there again, The Bewitched Statue was not there when I went!.
By the way! What is the song that you put on your video?
Also this is an amazing video!
Glad you enjoyed! I hope you can make it back there someday soon 🎃. The music I’m unsure it’s one of the free songs I use to make videos. Thanks again 😎✌️
If I do I will be sure to record some footage.
0:00-0:15. Ahhh, a couple fighting verbally. 🤣😂🤣😂
Maybe one of them is a witch!
@@saraszekely7651Only one way to find out!
Historia witch bruja
Salem means ‘peace' in Hebrew which was the native tongue of Jesus. Also, Salem was a real historical place in the bible and ended up becoming Jeru-salem - one of the world’s most oldest and holy cities.
Thanks for watching!
Salem Massachusetts AKA Halloween Town.
Thanks for watching!
Great overview but the music was a little overbearing.
Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for watching as well 😎🤘
