- Easy Textured Flower Painting with Acrylics / How to Paint a Flower
In this painting I am working with some joint compound to create a textured flower! I really like how this one turned out and using the texture was really fun to do something different to create a flower painting.
Joint compound: amzn.to/3wEdE1i

Thank you for watching!
I just found your beautiful channel and I would be interested if you would kindly share the size of the panel/canvas and the colors and brand of the paint(-( acrylic watercolors) that you used. I did look and your description and I apologize if it was mentioned in another video but I have an unable to find that info. I so enjoyed watching your technique and would love to have opportunity to try that also myself. 🌺🤗🦋
Thank you for watching! I am working on a 12 inch x 12 inch wood panel and am using acrylic paints on the texture paste. I used a dark blue and white.
@@amandasstudio h
@@amandasstudio what are the ingredients of this paste please 🌸♥️
@@amanymoubarak3441 I think she is using joint compound.😊
Very Very Nice!
Do you add anything in joint compound or use it as it is?
I use it as is!
GREAT WORK!! Will u please share what type of paint is that? AND THANK UU 💗💗
Thank you! I am using acrylic paints.
This is so pretty😍💗
Could you please tell what is the thick layer that you used to coat the canvas and to give the flower structure before coloring?
It is spackle.
Beautiful work. Do you paint the flower while the compound is still wet or wait for it to dry?
Wait for it to dry!
I’m glad you asked this question.
I just found your painting on Pinterest and i had to follow the link and watch the video. I absolutely love this. I've been looking for inspiration for a piece i wanna do for a focal point on my wall. You have given me that. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
4:33 are you painting on wood or canvas ? If not wood , will this work on wood? Thanks.
Yes I am painting on wood.
i have been following you for two years now. i have learned so much from you as you are so gifted. This is BEAUTIFUL. I am trying this next week. Thank you for your inspiration.
Wow, thank you!
Very nice 🥰🧑🏼🎨what kind of colours did you use?
Thx
Did you let dry in-between coats?
Yes
Do you seal these with anything when complete?
Varnish
Hello? I have a question. Will this look good if I paint the background black?
You can try, I think it would look beautiful with any color background!
Lovely just amazed at the talent Jesus has blessed you with ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!
107. Like it! Thank you for making. see my art too. Thank you my friend. ❤❤
Thank you!
Truly appreciate your talent, you created a masterpiece here
Did you also do this painting where the background is blue mixed and the flower I think 🤔 I can't remember the exact white.?????
No this is the only one that I have done.
I just subbed. I really love your work. Everything is so charming.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much. At last I watch a video about what I've been looking for. It's beautiful.
You are so welcome!
Hi Amanda, this is so pretty. I am a new subscriber. Thank you for sharing your creativity 🌸
Thank you so much!
Do you let the compound dry before you paint? Or paint while it’s wet?
Yes I let it dry first.
Hi Amanda. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent. from New Zealand
Thank you!
Beautiful! But what paint colors are you using?
Thank you! I am using acrylics, just blue and white to create different shades.
Beautiful and so relaxing. Thank you. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your art is incredible. Do you ever do May on canvas? If so did they crack?
So far I’ve only had issues with one cracking because my base coat of the spackle was way too thick.
So lovely. What is the tool that you're using? Could you post a link to that so that I could buy it?
The palette knife? It is part of this set: amzn.to/3VphuqF
Do you have to put clay all over the canvas first to creat the flower?
No, I just did it to add more texture to the painting.
White colour you did yosed that was acrolylic color please tell me
Navy blue and white.
Hola buenos días perdona nose que material se debe utilizar 😔😔🌷🌷
Materials are linked in the video description.
How long does it take to dry and did you wait a while before painting?
It takes a day to dry and I wait to paint it until it is dry.
I've been a sub of your Fluid Art channel for a few years but somehow missed you having this channel. I took the last year off so I am way behind on getting caught up with my fave artists. I stumbled upon this channel of yours about a week ago & LOVE it & am so glad I found it !! I've been binge watching some of your videos in here & noticed that you use different products for texture & wanted to ask, if I may, is there one specific product that you prefer over the others , I've seen you use spackle, modeling paste, & this compound, I wasn't sure if you had just discovered different/better texture products along the way or if you bounce around with your choice of product. I'm putting together a list of items to buy to start my journey with this form of art, you have really inspired me to try it !! I pretty much already have everything I would need minus the Texture product & the foils, & any type of Finish (if needed, I have spray on & brush on sealers that are normally used on pours) So thank you for this channel & sharing your techniques/talent !! I started getting bored with doing the "usual" pouring techniques & then the whole bloom craze & that's what led to me taking a break from creating. I don't have a channel or try to sell my work, it's just mainly a hobby that I really enjoy & usually just give them away to friends & family, I'm just recently getting my groove back & have developed a huge interest in doing more abstract types of art rather than pouring & I really love what you do here as well as the pieces you add the foils to, they are super pretty. I just always assumed the foil would be a hassle to work with but you have made it look pretty easy, but if I have learned anything since I started pouring it's that A LOT of things look easier than they really are !! Lol but you've given me that extra push I needed !! Thanks for any advice or product suggestions & again, thanks for sharing & creating this channel. I look forward to ordering all the supplies I will need & giving this a try asap !! 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much! I have tried a ton of texture mediums to see what I like and I think the ones from Liquitex and Golden are my favorite. They are a little more expensive though and you could always try out some cheaper spackle for some test pieces. They are a really nice consistency. The foil and the glue for it can be found at any craft store. I just use a spray varnish from Krylon to finish the pieces, it is a UV resistant clear one.
@@amandasstudio Thank you very much !! I was actually thinking about the Golden & Liquitex after I left my comment to you & had started checking into the different Spackles types & reading about how some of the spackling products contain asbestos but they weren't clear on whether that is with spackles that need to be mixed or the already mixed ready to use, but even with the ready to use there is always the possibility of some light sanding being needed & that alone would cause any asbestos to get into the air, so I'm definitely going to research all of them a little further. Not sure if you know of Tracie Reed with Acrylic Pouring with Friends, but she is also a big fan of yours & a long time sub of your pouring channel & I showed her this channel of yours today & she also loved it & subbed !! She also designs & creates a lot of different pouring tools & just recently created a wedge tool that would work really well for creating different designs for your technique so I look forward to playing & testing everything out !! Also looking forward to seeing more of your work !! Thanks again for your help !! 😊😊😊
Loved the texture from the compound and your color choice. So beautiful. Are you using watercolors and little bit of water? Iam inspired by your video I would like to do this design. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much! I am using acrylic paints. You can always thin them with a touch of water if you need to.

Lovely but when I leave it to dry and start painting I noticed cracks any clue for that ?
