Shout out from MI zone 6 go blue. The shirt looks great on you .
Thank you, Kelly!!! I’ve learned so much from you and my favorite flowers!! I’m a first time hydrangea mama as of this summer, and am constantly worried if I’m doing the right thing and giving the needed care. Your channel has been a lifesaver. I just clipped my blooms this past weekend on my endless summer, but did not prune. I’ll pick up the dead leaves that fall and insulate the plants in a couple of weeks with leaves, hay, & pine needles. I’ve heard this was best for the plants during harsh New England winters (I’m in MA). Also, I’ve been saving coffee grounds to put down in the soil in the spring for acidity and a boost in color. Is this fact or fiction?
Thanks again, love all your videos and words of wisdom!
I Thanks for your video, when is the best time to prune the Hidrangeas, also can I cut the plant very short in the spring they grow to big for my garden this year.
Go Blue! Currently in 8b Austin,TX. Moving at the end of the month to Greenville SC where it is actually green because it rains there, and I will be able to grow hydrangeas. There are actually blue hydrangeas on the property already!
Haaaaa my daughter who went to University of Michigan will appreciate that one 🤗 So happy to hear you will be growing beautiful hydrangeas soon . Congratulations on your move 👏👏
I have (black spots) on 3 of my hydrangeas. Is this a watering issue, fugues, or not enough sun? Thank you very much.
Lovely hydrangeas. Is your growing season long enough to see significant reblooming on the Endless Summers?
Do you have videos for beginners? I’ve received two mop head hydrangeas in pots already. I’ve never cared for a plant before❤
❤️
❤️😊🌸👋
Ñice❤❤❤👍👍
Thank you 🤗👍
I live in zone 5. I recently planted four hydrangeas. We’ve had 3 or 4 mornings of below frost temperatures. How long should I continue to water to ensure that roots are established? Thank you!
Should I plant on the ground the cuttings I took back in spring and let them experience winter or should I keep them potted?
I was wondering if you can comment on crepe myrtle when and how to prune?
Hi Debra , I have a lot of crepe myrtle trees and I only cut them back when they start to get overgrown on my driveway. Other wise I leave them alone and they come in beautiful each year . You f you do need to tidy them up , trim them when they are dormant in late winter or early spring . 🌸
Would spraying my Endless Summer Hydrangeas next year with a Copper Fungicide help with all the black spots? I’m zone 8 so our summer nights don’t cool off.
Can you do a video on little Tuff stuff…I think mine got too much sun and right now they have green stems and brown ones..I cut them down but I’m afraid I might have killed them,
Hi Kelly- I think my hydrangeas are dying. They had some fungal infects but I read to wait till spring to treat. But now, zone 7 getting cold and they look worse with completely brown dead looking leaves. Should e just cut them all off? There are very few unaffected leaves. Thanks for your help.
How do you winterize endless summer, summer crush hydrangeas, zone 6, I already have new blooms setting, will I loose them over the winter or do I need to cover them? I’m Stephanie from Illinois.
Hi, how about when leaves are looking soft and wilted , what can be done please do tell 🙏
Here it is late august in zone 7 and a few weeks ago we had some heavy heavy down pours and my limelight hydrangea pretty much laid down to the curb it had so many massive blood and I didn't
Know what to do so I cut the shrub back at about three quarters and now fast forward weeks later I am now
Seeing new growth.
Did I just set my beautiful hydrangea up for failure come first frost?
Please help I truly love this hydrangea it's the first plant I've ever owned ir planted. She's my baby😩
Kelly, My Annabelle lost it's leaves and has this little tiny balls of green on each branch. It's obvious there is a problem but I don't know what to do. I told my husband I was going to cut it down a bit and maybe next season it will bloom again. He looks naked with little balls of tiny tiny green somethings up and down the stem.
I just started growing hydrangeas, most of my are 1 or 2 years old and about 2 feet tall. Recently (beginning of June) I've seen something is eating the tips of my paniculata hydrangeas, I won't have much flowers this year for sure. Have you had this problem or what do you know about it? I don't think the rabits can reach that high and I don't see deers here. Thanks,
Hey Kelly love your hydrangeas. I live in Memphis and have had bad luck at hydrangeas for 4 years now. I just want to know can they last in direct sunlight in Memphis weather or should they be in the shade.
They prefer shade in my area in west Texas
I have a question… Im having a hard time identifying when I am supposed to dead head cut I believe you call it. I live in a tropical climate where winter is hot it just rains every day. Is it directly after the flower is dead and dry?
I have a black/dark leaf hydrangea and it can’t hardly take any sun and one is dying please tell me what I can do and yes it is in the plastic I bought it in from the store
Hi is there any way I could get some of your sunflower seeds to plant please. Let me know thanks.
6/27/23 @ 12 pm. How much sun
What about soil, fertilizer??
Will my hydrangea come back when I take from one spot to plant in another spot ,and it turns brown will it come back.
Its June now and i think Ive killed my 1st one. Soooo how will i know if its dead/not thriving vs about to go dormant? It looks the same in ur video imo.
Mine did not have 1 flower with 5 plants this year yuck
How do you get Endless Summer to rebloom? Deadhead? I’m lucky if I get one late flower.
HI WIll , dont prune back the plant . Many people cut off next years blooms by pruning them at the wrong time . Next years flowers are being put in place now on the old wood . You should get the first batch of hydrangea blooms from endless summer in early to mid summer on the old wood stems . Then you should get a second set of hydrangea flowers in late summer from the new growth stems .
My hydrangeas are planted in pure potting soil. It is about to die.
2:06 I Don’t see how to attach a photo
Once planted in the ground how often should they be watered.... last week we had about 4-5 days of rain and now for the last 4-days it has been sunny with temps in the high 50's I felt the soul it feels moist but of course I can't put my finger down far enough to really check. Should I water it everyday?
Thank you.
Hi April , i would not water every day or you may get root rot . Since temps have cooled off , once or twice a week may be fine . Give a deep root watering at the base of the plant . If there is a lot of rain , then skip the watering since mother nature took care of it for you .
@@KellyLehman thanks so much😘
Can my hydrangea be saved?
Bought a new one it was beautiful large blooms had it home for a week and it started dying. Now I’m down to what looks like a dead bush. Can it come back to life or should I chuck it. Jeannie from Nova Scotia. I’d send a picture if this site would let me
Hi iam Sherry from Nova Scotia and I had the same problem with 2 of mine. Did your come back to life.
Hey, Is it to late in the year to put them in the ground now. I have 3 plants that needed to be set out earlier but hadn't. Wondering if they would make it this late?
Hi Marty , Now is the the best time to plant your hydrangeas in the ground . fall is my favorite time to plant hydrangeas . Give them at least 6 weeks to get established in the ground before the ground freezes so the roots can get established
@@KellyLehman Thank you. I'll get them in the ground tomorrow.
Which hydrangea Kelly do you cut all the way back in spring?
Hi Helena, you can cut back the hydrangeas that come in on new growth in late winter or early spring . Those are your panicle hydrangeas like limelight and smooth hydrangeas like incrediball and Annabelle . Most if the time I don’t even cut those back . When I do , I only prune back a third of the plant . 🌸
Kelley, Will you sell a few of your rooted Hydrangeas?
Hi Joseph , so sorry but I am not set up to sell them , however , I do get many of mine on sale for 40-50 percent off this time of year at local garden centers and home depot and lowes . You are better off getting the entire plant to put in the ground this time of year . I also get a lot of hydrangea from Proven WInners . They will ship to your house if you are in there shipping circle .
When is the correct time to plant two
White Lime lights please 😀
Hi Carmen, fall is my favorite time to plant hydrangeas . Give them at least 6 weeks to get established in the ground before the ground freezes so the roots can get established . Good luck . ❤️🤗🌸
Thank you Kelly your info is very useful love listening to your advise 😀
Mulch brought in had fungus spread to plant died 🤔🧐
Oh that so stinks . Rake it out and get rid of it if you can and start over with some fresh mulch . I had a huge batch of mulch that had grass seed in it . That was super fun to deal with as it started to grow. 🙄
No water ??
Yep definetley give them a good soaking if they are dehydrated . I know i went over that rather quickly at time stamp 1:09 when i said i gave the plant a good shot of water . 🌸🤗
I think I have destroyed my hydrangeas in pots after seeing this. Damn I reported my hydrangeas last month by cutting back all the fine root system is it too late to save them.
Hi Dory , hydrangeas are pretty tough. As long as there are strong roots lleft in tact even after you cut back some of the root system it may still be ok .
