I have been listening to some of Boe/Ball concerts where they split this song. Alfie has an amazing voice but hands down I prefer Michael's voice and emotion he puts in every song. Passion and emotion every time over technical perfection for me.

it's not a Tim Rice musical. Music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, French lyrics by Alain Boubil, additional French lyrics by Jean-Marc Natel, interpreted in English by Herbert Kretzmer with additional lyrics by Trevor Horn. I know it's a lot of names, but it's nowhere near Tim Rice at all!
