Great review! Quick correction though: The "10 beta disks" rumour is a complete jape. We have confirmation from former devs that this never took place, and the game never saw any form of public release. Also, the Pakari only does block pushing in the alpha my dude. :P
Oh, and the gravity bug in Pohatu's Kane Ra section was our bad. In the day 1 patch, Nate decided to add the water BCL back to the area, unknowing of the fact that falling INTO said water will then screw up the physics. This among many other things will be fixed soonTM. :P
Thanks! if you want to keep up to date on bleeding edge updates and fixes as they come in, our Discord is at bit.ly/Beavercord ...Also I may just take your idea about the fetch quest/upgrades thing. ;)
A couple little things to note: - Onua's digging and the Pakari's block-pushing are separate actions only in the alpha. In the beta, Onua needs to have the Pakari active in order to dig, and there are no more blocks that can be pushed. - In the alpha, the debug menu showed that one of the "missing abilities" was an extension of Onua's grapple. In other words, the Clawshot to the default Hookshot. Of course, the rest of the abilities on the list were still missing. - Pohatu could actually kick rocks in the alpha, which was required to defeat the Stone Elemental. For some reason, this was removed in the beta. - While the Huna, Kakama, and Miru remain useful after you find them, pretty much all other masks are severely underutilized. "Open-endedness" is an illusion; having thirteen masks by the end of Tahu's level means nothing when more than half of them are useless. - As noted by jamessterV2 (one of the fans who worked on patching the game), the Wind Elemental's ridiculous OHKO attack is actually a consequence of running the game at 60 FPS on modern systems. When locked at 30 FPS, it's much easier to escape this attack.
I still think MNOG is better. But for the time it would have been amazing still. It just bugs me that, for instance, the game doesn't seem to have any actual elemental powers. Just beams, which makes it a bit Heroes like in that regard. I also wonder how much it follows the Storey Bible... The Onua claw for grappling hook is bizarre.
9:17 The tokens are actually used to open marked doors in the game. A few of them are borked like the first one in Tahu's level which requires more tokens than you can find, but the modding team is working to correct it.
About the boss intros, there mainly towards the elemental monsters(minus the water elemental, but there's an intro of the Rani miniboss called the Fikou-Nui(giant spider you fight in Onua's level), but that's the only intro that we ever got that's not an elemental, are there more? Or the Litestione will have to make them?
I'll do a follow up when they're done with it, don't want to make a video and then have some new stuff happen right after I am working on another Bionicle video though, its just been slow going due to other responsibilities
Once they stopped making licensed games(or got too lazy) Lego just decided to invest more in online games, hence the fact that there's only been 2 Bionicle games released on consoles. Glatorian Arena 1 and 2, by the way.

Lovely video, long live bionicle
Pity this never got finished and the PS2 game did
according to DYKG this was canceled in favour of that game
Game Sharks That's terrible.
1:01 Why does a shark need to hold it´s breath?
they were psyching themselves up for the jump
Why does the shark hold in his breath before jumping in the water
I actually just got this game. Mostly because I learned a game of this storyline was in development. Been fun so far.
The final build is coming soon.....

The final build is now released to the public. Do you want to review it later? Or when the team fully patch the game?

I am working on another Bionicle video though, its just been slow going due to other responsibilities
Wtf was that intro I feel like I was on acid

Hey, give them credit, at least Bionicle eventually got a pretty sick fighting game
