Sadly I have to admit I had the exact same thing with the trolleys. My husband always got them and put them back then the first time I had to do it myself I struggled and felt stupid when I realised how it worked. Try reading the series of Outlander books Diane, you may not be so keen to touch the stones, only fiction but a really good read, they are by Diana Gabaldon.

There's a creepy 70's kids show called Children of the Stones that was filmed in Avebury. The episodes are on RUclips and although the fashion is hideous and the acting's pretty dire, it's definitely worth checking out.
