I have reviewed probably over one hundred background terrarium videos before I begin my own and yours is by far the most entertaining, educational, and musically enjoyable. The results look damn good too!
Tack :)
Hello!! very nice what you did! i am trying it too only my cocofiber falls off when i vacuum it. I have done exactly what you did. do you have any tips?
Never done this before, fair warning, but might I ask how long you let the fibers sit before you vacuumed? The author of the video might have let the enclosure sit for days before rubbing off the extra, letting the silicon set properly. Could be your issue, if not I’m not really sure. You could also try using excavator clay for the background instead, like solidify it with water. Might be sturdier. I know this is four months ago but maybe I can help lol.
what would happen if you used a small torch to smooth out the foam ? instead of hours of cutting with a knife/razor? think that would work ? i seen one guy do it with making a waterfall out of foam and it final product surface was slick looking but good after he put substrate mix on and moss !
Does it matter if some of the silicone is showing through the substrate or is it bad for my snake to be on direct contact with it? Should I put more silicone on the spots showing then put more substrate
Question: ive heard silicone II is safe if you let it dry for more than 7 days.. but i also picked up the bathroom and kitchen kind....do i need to use a different kind??? I just wanna make sure my boa is gonna be ok..
From what i unterstand you should be fine as long as it's 100% silicone. Although i'd recommend aquariumsilicone when working with humidity above 60% as it won't get moldy.
@@jaydenmarrero6350 Even my local zoo uses this stuff (polyurethane foam), and it's a high-class conservationist zoo too. I wouldn't use polyurethane foam "as is" in a terrarium, especially if there were animals with sensitive skin walking on it. I love this!!! And the song is too cool. Keep making videos :)
Definetly gave me some ideas on the background I was planning on doing this weekend thanks to the log with the hole in it 😮
My dude high five, this was fun to watch with the awesome choice of music.
Wow, thank you!
No words, yet you've basically explained everything I need to do to accomplish this myself. Thanks for the video!
Super helpful thank you!!
That looks awesome, can I get all the material you use? I want to try this for my ball python
Lol at the too big log! I know that feel. So many possibilities, so little sq. footage
Which sprayfoam did you use? I'm building my enclosure and trying to find the best foam to use and now thinking of doing my background alittle simular
Great vid. Smashed it. Well done. Can you drop track links? Great choice.
Was the silicone really hard to spread? I tried this once and failed because the silicone would not brush ajd move around like yours did
I have land snails (helix sp.) and was wondering how well this would work for them… any ideas?
Would the silicone still stick to the foam if you didn’t shave it down?

Ants Scandinavia Hej! Stämmer :) jag har använt vilken som helst, när den stelnar är det lugnt.

Was that plain water that you sprayed on the soil?
How long is the dry time. I just did 1 side of my enclosure. It been 20 mins. Still wet n pieces are loose
Nice, what kind of silicone do you use? I was trying to do the same with aquarium silicone. It does not spread So easily with a brush
I use aquarium silicone and spread it with a butter knife 😊
@@emelienbonnier6171 strange i use the same but it just doesnt want to spread :(
Can this tank withstand high humidity and moderate heat?
How do you spot clean the tunnels?

Don't do it man. That shit's extremely toxic and causes cancer.
great how to video. I wish you would explain things though.
Kristopher Williams my English sucks haha
Nice video! Btw what expanding foams are safe for pets?
Any as it does not give off fumes or anything harmful when it has cured. Silicone however you need aquarium safe like ha6 I believe
Thanks! Sorry for late answer. I don’t use anyone special, when it’s dry it’s safe. At lest the ones we have in Sweden (not a foam expert)
The dirt doesn't stay on the best? I've tried a few different types of silicon. Any tips to get the dirt to stay on better?
I'm gonna use dry-lock sealant instead of silicone
What substrate did you use on the silicon? Some coconut stuff or...?
Most people use coconut fibre
Star Wars fan? I saw those slippers you were wearing. A friend of the Galactic Empire.
How long after you add the silicone do you put your pet back in his tank? Mine has dried fkr 2 days but still reekes of sillicone
About a week. If possible have doors/windows open or put it outside.
@@emelienbonnier6171 that was my big mistake. Did it in my bedroom haha. When i do my toads enclosure, it will be in the garage.
Nic

It’s Aquarium silicone so it’s safe for your pets!
Wait.. did you put live plants in without the pots on the bottom..
But you don't have a drainage layer?
Really nice tank though!!
Mells K haha I don’t remember, but I don’t use live plants anymore. Thanks :)
👍
@@emelienbonnier6171 Why not? Live plants make a terrarium fun and worthwhile. You just need to have a drainage layer and the plants will blossom.

I just went out and found silicone 1.. just to be safe
Hi, does the foam background removeable if i want a clean tank for a rescape maybe?
you would be better off buying a new tank, it would be difficult to get the foam off unless you sat there carving it away for hours lol
Just wondering, how many silicone tubes did you go through? And whats the size of your viv? Thanks!
Hm.. 3-4 tubed, I think it was 1 meter long and maybe 50/60 cm high :)
@@emelienbonnier6171 oh okay so about 2 tubes should be fine for a 45x45x45cm right?
@@emelienbonnier6171 also how many cans of expanding foam did you use?
How do u clean it
Could you not cement over the expandable foam then paint or use resin ???
That would work, but I like to have the possibility to remove my backgrounds if I want.
@@emelienbonnier6171 before I fix it to the tank
What was the black thing you were using in the beginning?
Abby Rice silicon for aquarium :)
Hello, could you link to where you got the bark from
Hi! I bought it at my local pet store.
What substrate did you use to put on the silicon?
I usually use plant soil, can't say for any other countries but in sweden its safe.
Great video!
Will do this once i get a kingsnake
What animal did u put in it?
Martin Xeneize thanks! Cool :) I had my ball python, but she have a bigger now.
How many bottles of silicone did you use to cover all of that ?
I think it was 3 or 4
what's precise silicon do you use ? please take me link !thank's
Inexuim it’s from a Swedish store so I can’t give you a link but I used aquarium silicone.
Thank's you , and
how much does the silicon cost ?
Inexuim hm.. I think it was around 150 Swedish crowns ~ 15 us dollar
Ok nice price thank's
Where’s the terrarium from
What did you use after the silicone
Coco fiber
Hi, can you tell me substrate did you use??
Hi! Soil without any additives :)
can i use any expanding foam?
Wolf Games no you need great stuff pond and stone the one they used in the video is toxic to animals 😔
@@jaydenmarrero6350 false it is only toxic if ingested in large quantities which with the silicon overlay and dirt on top WONT happen...

Annoying music
You did not tell us about anything you used. Can you add details. And the music is really loud .

Wtf did she put in it? What did she even build it for? 😂
Tried to watch, but the music......
Mute and watch...!!!!
Too much foam silicone nasty
Its a no for me
Nasty
This looks toxic and possibly animal abuse
