After 300 hours of learning to prone foil surf, I recorded a few things that I have learned along the way.
While I have only achieved a few good glides it's very addictive and I can see that's it's my surfing future.
In this video I talk about getting the right advice. You are going to need a rig suitable for your prior skills, weight, etc and that is going to determine, in part, your progress - so best to have someone ensuring you choose the right gear.

i hear a lot of people recommanding low volume foil for newbie and im like nah you cant be serious, of course i tried and brought a 1500 for my 87kg i tough it will be a softer take off and so on... I wasted one session unable to stay on the foil because it's was way too much sensitive to input. People jump directly to the low volume and hight perf foil thinking it's will be easier ... that's totaly wrong . now im learning on a 2100cm wing like you said bigger sweetspot and i will add very stable foil ok i dont make sharp turn but im not even at turning yet lol.

Good to hear that you have found a rig that suits and really hopes this helps people go for bigger boards. A friend of mine really wanted to go for a performance rig first up and has had a world of pain, including the stitches featured in this video. She has loads of trouble keeping the board down after take off for the lack of space up the front of the board to get her weight over the foil... Now we have her one a 5 2 and friendlier foil and she is progressing!

Hey John if your looking to sell your beginners rig let me know. Advice is to use a shorter mast but are all masts & fuselages compatible and I see konrads smallest is 70cm. How do you cut them down or should I keep searching?

Thanks for the offer, but a friend is currently banging around on my beginner rig. Find "John Nayler" on Facebook and I can connect you with a couple of options.
