Great series! Question: at 183cm and 73kg and 3+ years of foiling waves with a kite, but only some longboard experience in regular surfing: what board (volume & length) would you recommended to make foil-paddling into semi-foamies as easy as possible? Once up on the foil I'm pretty sure I will be fine - just catching the waves itself will be my challenge I think...

      Thanks for the ack.😎
I welcome other comments, but the biggest prone boards are about 5 4, with a plenty of volume. My beginner board featured you can see has a V shape at the nose. Since recording I have switched to the newest Konrad which like lots of boards these days has twin concaves. CHANGED MY LIFE. Paddle in easier, take offs more stable when I pop.
So suggestion is high volume 5 4 with dual concaves.

Hi John, have you covered duck diving on the foil in one of your videos? Thanks!

Hi there. No, I have not done anything on ducking waves. I can't say that I have much to offer - i don't go out on big day typically, and when I do I get smashed like everyone else ! :-)

Any further Tips when you say you remove the leash and hang on to the attchment point at the back of the board when coming to shore. How do you deal with wave 'suck back'? I know you have an ~ 80 cm Mast to deal with.

Thanks for the comment. Yes since making the video I have something to add on the subject of letting the foil board go forward through the break. I am still a big fan of letting the board go in front of me at the full length of the leg rope and letting the wash carry me towards the beach. The recent problem was that the shore dump caught my board and bounced it hard and ripped the foil rig out of the board boxes. Expensive lesson

Sure. I was letting the the board go way forward and let it drag me to the shallows and then a dumping wave crunched my
