I believe you are correct!! Nice job identifying it. I've been trying to figure it out. I live in America and knew for a fact that it wasn't a U.S. coin like a lot of people in the comments were saying.
Vancouver Island! Our part of the world (BC🇨🇦 & WA🇺🇸) is so well represented this week! And then you come through with a terrific "find fact!" You guys are so smart up there. 😁 ✌🏽
That *BUTTON* !! I would absolutely Love to live nearby a treasure trove like this one!! I would be content to spend every waking free moment meditating on the search until the end of my days.
I love the violin button - it would make a fantastic cast in silver! The tiny coin looks like a 10 centime coin of WILLEM III KONING - DER NEDERLANDEN G.H.V.L. circa 1849
I just found a basket, a pipe and a book in the woods near my home. I send you the intoxicating scent of sun warned cedars and wildflowers, borne on gentle breeze off the Pacific. I thank you for your sensory gift. From Shelton, Washington, USA.
Another great vid Gail & Alex thank you for sharing your great experiences and finds. Sorry that you hurt your hand Alex I hope it heals asap. You 2 always amaze me. Never get tired of watching.
The round lens with the grooves reminds me of the top of a Corningware coffee pot. You could see the coffee hit the glass while perking.😊 The button is FANTASTIC!❤❤❤
My grandfather was a haulier and had a similar petrol ⛽️ pump that was in use until 2001 ! I loved that button ! It would make a wonderful brooch on a black coat . Thank you for working so hard that day ! Wonderful finds and that incredible carved stone .
The little empty boots on the circular base reminds me of the trend in the mid 20th century of bronzing Baby Shoes . Perhaps that would be a sweet doll house item.
It made me think of those as well. When I was 8, I sold my big brother's at my own personal "garage sale," which I inflicted upon my pals. When my mother found out😱, I had to go get them back AND return the 10 cents I had gotten for them. Still wish I had those 10 cents... 😁
Thank you so much for all the extra homework you ladies do to educate not only yourselves but the rest of us as well, really enjoy learning something new right along with you two. Safe travels an happy hunting!
I lived in the state of Virginia, in the US. My great aunt owned a small antique shop. I am not sure of the exact/ proper name of the glassware I remember some called " depression glass". But what you have in the button, I have only seen in glassware she had. It looks black, but held up to the light it was purple. I believe the name was " black amytheist ". I hope I'm right, lol. Over 60, now live in Alaska, so detailed childhood memories are fading . 😊
God bless you ladies for persevering and getting that monument home. My back hurt just watching you struggle! My goodness Alex, be careful!!!! Hope you are healed soon.
I had the chance to do some mudlarking in a rocky river in Vermont, USA last week and after 70+ years of playing in the New England dirt I finally found my first small section of clay pipe stem. I was so excited and no one to share my excitement with! Anyway I thought of you two and how excited you get.
Oh dear sorry to hear about your hand Alex. You are a sweet lady to share…hope healing comes soon for you. Love your videos your help around the cottage is to admire. Stay safe and lovely as you are! Greetings from California … such a lovely part of your world thanks for sharing. 🌼 P.S. good job finding that piece to match your pink plate …that’s amazing wow I was so amazed good job finding that! 💕🌹
When you found the pipe bowl and stem I was just about to leap in and tell you all about Brewsters of Sunderland. But then I noticed you did a big feature at the end all about them and I ended up learning some stuff ha ha! Anyway, there's 2 great vids on here that you'll find interesting. One about the making of church warden pipes entitled "1938 Film of Clay Pipe Making at Broseley" and the other showing pipe making at Broseley into the 1950's entitled "Clay Pipe Making (1952)". Some fascinating shots of quick skilful hands at work!
😊hey Alex n Gail With found spoons you can hammer the bowl flat and use metal alphabet letter stamps vertically or horizontal to use as identifying markers for plants and garden veggies ect. DIY'd repurpose, recycle, reuse 😊❤
Love the violin button. The child's bird pipe is adorable. I thought of Dr. Who when you pulled out the lead pump. I have an eye wash thing just like the one you found but mine is clear. I got it from my grandmother.
Wow! Something told me it might be 1940s...all those bands that were so popular in the dance halls,! I imagine it on a girls jacket or something....a sweater maybe...very fashionable!
Always a pleasure to see your episodes. Your button is so amazing and unique. I can't believe the day you had lugging the amazing stone pediment and then finding all your unique finds. Like Alex said "extreme mudlarking" congratulations
Hello from Warrnambool Vic Australia. Always love watching your show. Uplifts me when I'm struggling with pain. Amazing finds and a lovely mum and daughter duo❤❤❤
Lovely video Ladies, amazing history you uncovered about clay pipes, thanks for sharing that. Alex, I hope your hand healed quickly and was not too painful. Thanks again for hiding mudlarking Charlotte, I loved her in the car as well as many other places. Gail "bass" glass button is stunning! Thank you so much!
The cello/double bass button is wonderful, and in such great condition too. Must have been on a very stylish item of clothing. One of your best ever finds I think!
Alex, I'm an American living in Colorado. When I watch other Mudlarking channels and they pull out something broken to show I keep wanting them to say "it's a bit knackered" they never do. 😂😂😂😂 I wait for you to say it because it's not a term we use here and it really makes me happy when you say it in your thick accent. I love it!!! ❤
lol! I think they enunciate very clearly for Scotts! I’ve known and heard Scottish people who have such thick accents that you’ll need subtitles to understand them 😂
Thick accent? Scots?? I know they're in Scotland, but they sound British to me. There are some native-speaker accents I don't understand very well, but Gail & Alex's isn't one of them. Nicola is another person I can always understand. Si Finds, on the other hand, can leave me - and my close captioning - completely in the dust if he wants to. 😁 This is especially the case when he hangs with his mates. 😬 Leigh (Bondi Treasure Hunters - Holy Moley Magnet) 🇦🇺❤ also speaks outside my comprehension boundaries, but his Dutch pals & beautiful wife Nikki come in very clearly. 🤷🏽♀️ I always wonder how much RUclipsrs are modulating their speech for their linguistically challenged American viewers. In the end, I love them all regardless of whether I understand them or not. Besides, it's a small world! It's good for me to develop my ear so that I can understand it. 😁🌎🌏🌍
The dark purple class appears to be "Amethyst class " I have a collection of amethyst class objects, class birds, class shell shaped little dishes, many different unique things made from Amethyst class which looks black, but isn't black at all when viewed with sunlight or a flashlight 💖✨✨ Much love to you both, your adventures are indeed my favorite.
That glass animal might be an “ end of day” animal . My grandfather worked in the glass works and at the end of the day they would use up the last bit of glass to make something, I have quite a collection of pigs 😊
So sorry to hear you hurt your hand Alex. I hope it heals quickly for you. Great toy day, another fun lark! I was decluttering the other day and found random beads at the bottom of the box. I could hear you say “it’s a bead!” Felt compelled to get every single one in a jar. Cracked me up! I could imagine someone finding them years from now thinking why would someone throw a bead away?
That button is amazing, a beautiful design and a stunning purple colour. Might you be planning any videos showing the cleaning process for your pipes or metal bits, as it would be fun to see the process. Also love that history that you'd found for the pipe.
Such an informative round up of all your larked treasures from the original lark last week. That was a real labour of love. The doorway stone carving was well worth the effort and i was so pleased you saved it. I just cant understand why that was disposed of in such un unceremonious way. I mean this had been hand carved, not some randomly cast piece. It would be so fascinating to find where it came from. Imposdible though im guessing. Which is quite sad. A long demolished building. Now lost in history....but you never know. One day maybe ? I so loved the black/purple button. That was magic. From the age of jazz becoming a favourite from the 30 and 40 onwards. That was definitely a little treasure. A great addition to you black button collection. The history you told us about the clay pipes was interesting too. The internet is such a fabulous tool isnt it. I've learnt so much about so many subjects. 😁 Those little bubble pipes are so cute. They always remind me of the old soap adverts they used. With the little curley, blond haired boy in blue, blowing bubbles from such a pipe. Im really looking forward to seeing that beautiful blue glass blob, smoothed in your stone tumbler. Id love to see what you end up make from that. 😂 Make sure you use that little brick tile you found Gail. Added to your path way maybe. 😂 🤔 Or was it your kitchen you were going to use your tiles you've found? There's always an odd corner? Xxx
Early in the video you commented that we must be tired of pipes. And then you find one that opens up so much information to add to our understanding. I'm never tired of pipes! Thanks for sharing your research with us.
Thanks Gail and Alex. Like that pink bowl and the matching piece that'll be melted down and recycled. Thanks for showing us the pictures at the end of the decorative stone designs like the one you salvaged. ❤😊❤
I love watching all your wonderful videos. I wish we in could find some places with as much wonderful finds as you ladies do. And Gail every time you say "Should I keep it?" I'm always saying Yes Please.
I used to have a windchill made of forks and spoons years ago. The tines on the forks were all turned around or curled into different scroll type shapes on the tips. Can't wait to see what yours look like. 😍
Hello Gail and Alex! What an amazing adventure this was, I couldn't wait to see the continued video for this day. Love all the treasures, how funny to find all the toys too. All your hard work getting the stone home was well worth it. Can't wait to see its final resting place. Have a wonderful week...Big hugs from Texas!😁😍
That surely was a great lark with so many finds and the stone carving. Love the car and the petrol pump shame the top was broken off to tell what petrol it sold. The glass button is so very beautiful and should go in the window of wonders. Stay safe you two. Thanks fr taking us along on this epic lark.
I love the black bead. But I think I noticed a color when the light hit it just right I hope you hold it up in the light so you can see what color it really is . Thank you you are my go to every week I love you guys I could so do what you're doing. If I had money I would probably move to Scotland by an old of a house and just enjoy O L Tonia Utah
That button is amethyst glass. I have a small plate that looks black, but in the light it is dark purple. I noticed the red horse with the soldier had England written on the side if the horse. Great finds!❤ from the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in Washington State
Hello been watching for a long time and I love looking at the things you find but I was wondering if you would ever show how you clean the stuff you find I find it interesting how clean you get some of the stuff.
Wonderful video Ladies! Love the button, what a beauty! Thanks for all the pipe research, it's amazing to me that you can find all that family history and, personally, I will never ever find pipes boring. Please continue to show them 😃💖x
HOPE YOUR HAND HEALS ALEX, SORRY YOU GOT HURT. LOVE THE VIOLIN BUTTON. NICE FINDS LOVE THE FLOOD LIGHTS FOR SECURITY AND LIGHT AT NIGHT SO IMPORTANT. WELL THANKS AND STAY SAFE ❤️ 🙏
Love your videos. They make me miss Scotland. I was wondering if you ever thought of purchasing an "ultrasonic cleaner?" They work wonders on cleaning metals and things. All the best!
I felt your struggle watching that video!🥵 I’m not a musician but it looks like a double bass in my humble opinion.😌 Please don’t bin the glass ‘pig’ it’s a lovely piece of art! ☺️ The pink glass would look lovely cut and made into earrings.🥰 Thank you Ladies for a very informative video. Thoroughly enjoyed it! 💐💐🫶🏻
The pink knobbly glass that you said you were going to make beads out of would make really neat earrings 😊. They look like gum drops to me. If you cut them out and applied a post. It’s what I saw when you selected it from the rubble.😂
A chitty chitty bang bang car.. Awesome fun finds..i love them all ❤ The beautiful glass colours..so pretty.. love watching you make beads.. so exciting 😊
Cool finds. I'm American, and I believe the pink bowl you have is called depression glass. The jazz button may have come off a band member's suit jacket. Very interesting. Your coin is possibly a laurel leaf dime from the US. The info on the clay pipes was interesting, too. I figured they weren't used by then myself.
Depression glass like that pink bowl is popular to collect. When are you going to make a wind chime w your found cutlery? Love to see you make things from your finds in interesting ways!
I'm in the States and looked for the coin. I don't know anything about coins and was unable to find it for you. If you do find out would you please mention it in your next video? Thanks.
I live in the states too, and I do have a good bit of knowledge about U.S. coins. I have been metal detecting for about 10 years and follow other RUclipsrs who have been doing it longer than myself, so I have learned quite a lot. I have found them myself and have watched others who have as well. In both my own experiences in digging old coins, and learning from others, I can pretty much confirm this is definitely not an American coin. I've never recovered one like it, nor has any other dectectorist that I know of. I've spent several hours already trying to find the origin of Alex and Gail's coin and have not been able to identify it.
Alex I hope your hand heals quickly! Here is to a speedy recovery for you my dear! Great video as always and such a champ to keep rolling! I always enjoy watching your adventures! Cheers
Well done on getting that heavy piece home, I did a similar drag with a ironstone tabletop which I dragged a fair way, where there's a will there's a way is my motto.
The coin is an 10 cent silver willem the third from the Netherlands! late 1800's :)
Google images says the same. 😉
So much fun to see a Dutch coin in a Scottish tip.
I thought it looked like a dubbeltje.
It’s actually a Swiss coin I found a copy of it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins_of_the_Swiss_franc half way down the page it shows both sides of the coin
I believe you are correct!! Nice job identifying it. I've been trying to figure it out. I live in America and knew for a fact that it wasn't a U.S. coin like a lot of people in the comments were saying.
Gail, everytime you ask the question...."should I keep it?"....I'm going, yes...Oh, please yes, keep it! lol
Me too! lol.

The button is 1940's Czech Cello button. It use to have a gold tone gilding. Cheers from Vancouver Island.
I was also going to comment the same! Most molded glass buttons are either Czech or West German. 😊

@@bkitteh6295 Oregon is here, too!
a great counter for a musical instrument tray in competition. From Idaho!
Did you find the fork in the road ? 😂
I think all those plain pipe bowls would make beautiful "bells" with hand painted Christmas designs on them to hang on the tree.
I always thought they would make cute chime candle holders
That double bass button made me literally gasp! I'm a bassist, that's the most amazing button I've ever seen.
That *BUTTON* !!

You are hard core mudlarkers to haul that big rock and then to go looking for different treasures!
That button is amazing, a beautiful design and a stunning purple colour. Might you be planning any videos showing the cleaning process for your pipes or metal bits, as it would be fun to see the process. Also love that history that you'd found for the pipe.
Oh, and also making new beads from the glass finds?

The pink knobbly glass that you said you were going to make beads out of would make really neat earrings 😊. They look like gum drops to me. If you cut them out and applied a post. It’s what I saw when you selected it from the rubble.😂
A chitty chitty bang bang car..
Awesome fun finds..i love them all ❤
The beautiful glass colours..so pretty.. love watching you make beads.. so exciting 😊
Marty Robbin’s Stawberry Roan for a laff mite have something to do with headless horsemen😅 😎✌🏼🖖🏼🤟🏼🥰
Ooh that gorgeous jazzy button 🖤
Great bunch of finds! I enjoyed watching this! Thanks so much for sharing this 😊 😊
Cool finds. I'm American, and I believe the pink bowl you have is called depression glass. The jazz button may have come off a band member's suit jacket. Very interesting. Your coin is possibly a laurel leaf dime from the US. The info on the clay pipes was interesting, too. I figured they weren't used by then myself.
Did I see a reddish hue when the double base button was held up to the light?! 🤩
Depression glass like that pink bowl is popular to collect. When are you going to make a wind chime w your found cutlery? Love to see you make things from your finds in interesting ways!
That button reminds me of a small vase I have that looks black but when you hold it up to the light it is purple!Lovely lark ladies!
Love watching you 2 ! Get well Alex and look after yourselfs . God Bless
Alex I hope your hand heals quickly! Here is to a speedy recovery for you my dear! Great video as always and such a champ to keep rolling! I always enjoy watching your adventures! Cheers
Love the bird pipe, the eye wash , the cow, the black button. Hope your hands are better.
I love the ‘abstract’ cat-bear glass thingy! It’s my favorite find & so glad you carried to home! 😊
Well done on getting that heavy piece home, I did a similar drag with a ironstone tabletop which I dragged a fair way, where there's a will there's a way is my motto.
