After seeing Every Little Step I’m so happy she took the time to say that several ladies could have played the part and well. That says a lot about her character.
Charlotte doesn’t get enough credit as one the truly great Cassie’s. Gosh, she seems like such a sweet and genuine person and how great were the reactions of her dad. ☺️♥️
Pippin 2013 brought me here. Charlotte was the best, most fantastic & fierce Queen Fastrada. And how fun was it that her real-life husband played King Charlemagne?! Sorry i missed her Cassie--looks like that was great too. Somewhere in a dictionary under "triple threat," there is a picture of her. Thanks for sharing this with those of us who didn't get to see that Chorus Line revival. Would love to see her whole performance!!!
Excellent interview. Charlotte D'Amboise is very chill, pragmatic, down to earth - great qualities to have in a dancer. She seems like a cool person to get to know. I did get to know and work with her father when I was 10 years old! He was still with NYC Ballet and would come to my home island of Puerto Rico to do the San Juan Ballet's productions of Nutcracker. He loved working with kids and would always have some great tips and notes to give me onstage - even to the point of finding ways of making my performance more humorous. Perhaps I see where Charlotte got her great sense of humor and healthy dose of self-deprecation. Her father was a great influence and always an inspiration.
Just days ago i caught the end of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and saw his name in the credits! I exclaimed, "Jacques D'Amboise?!? That's Charlotte's Dad!!!"
Charlotte D’Amboise’s amazing parents raised exceptional children. I especially appreciated her mom’s wisdom to make dance optional for her kids, allowing them to fall in love with it on their own. For having such accomplished parents, Charlotte is such a grounded, emotionally mature and talented person, who made key decisions in her life to keep her safe from the excesses that shipwreck other children of famous parents.
What a fantastic interview! I absolutely loved the part when dancing with your brother. The look of joy on your Dad'd face is work a million dollars. Thanks!
I'm so glad for the mention of "Carrie the Musical". If somebody handed me millions, I'd say "get me in a room with Linzi, Charlotte, Sally Ann & Betty: i want to recreate 1988. 💕
Charlotte has an almost "mane-like" posture that is very commanding in person, and yet so down to earth. I've met her at the stage door 2x. Absolutely almost inhuman energy, a real trooper. She's a stage animal.
Even if you're great at what you do, you still have to audition for a role?! That's what makes the theater world so impressive. You are assured to see the best performers once it's staged!
She's amazing! Thanks for this nice interview. BTW, is there a video captation of the new cast recording, as seen in the last mintute of this video, available on DVD or BD?

She's marvelous.
She's a legend...a true DIVA.

Thank your very much. She is wonderful.
Fun that her husband the Terence Mann was in the movie of "A Chorus Line"
I never knew Charlotte had such a thick new yawk accent. It's so charming.
