- The RTX 4060 is marketed as a 1080p card, but we're out to see how well it can do with 1440p! We benchmark 10 games all at 1440p medium settings with no upscaling to put it to the test. Check out this RTX 4060 review as we benchmark Fornite, Halo Infinite, Expoprimal, Elden Ring, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and The Witcher 3. How well do you think we did?

I think this card is good for performance/optimized settings on 1440p. Low power consumption beast!
I’ve been playing most AAA games in 1440p with no issues. It’s a good little card!
@@PetesParts16 How were the drivers? It seems to me like the drivers are making the card even better than before.
@@mythydamashii9978 drivers have been fine. I've downloaded every driver update since I got the card in late June and I haven't really had any issues.
@@PetesParts16Alright, thanks for letting me know!
take a chill pill man
Hey pete, you were talking about how you had to use obs and it might lower your performance. You should look into getting a capture card. It would give more accurate tests.
Thanks, yes for sure that would be a better setup. I would just need a proper streaming PC to do it. I did test most of these games without OBS running and they all gained at least 10-20 fps.
This is fine “causal gamer” and 1080p card. I still believe it’s a 4050 though, with Nvidia moving the product stack down one tier.
Seems that way. They are more focused on upscaling and AI at this point
Well would be right, the sku of rtx 4060 is ad107 … 107 is also the code for gtx 1050
what if you were to use a capture card? like have a laptop or another personal device to capture the 4060s gameplay instead of using obs which decreases performance
I’ve thought about doing that, I just don’t have the resources for it currently. Might move to a dual PC setup sometime in the future
The whole point of this card is to use dlss
I don't think it is made for 1440p. Honestly, I think for slower-paced games, yeah go for 1440p otherwise, stick to 1080p with it.
It feels to me like the 3060 ti would be a much better option for 1440p though, to be frank. The only thing the 4060 has going for it is DLSS3 and FG.
Also, how come your voice sounds so much better in your gameplay recording than it does in your normal recording?😂
Thanks for the input. DLSS3 is certainly its huge selling point. And yeah I need to work on my mic situation 🙂 I record with my phone and don’t have a dedicated mic for it. The voice overs were done with a condenser mic so it sounds better
would the 4060ti 16gb be any better for 1440p?
Yes it definitely would
yes by far
I have some advice, please first play with OBS turned off and then in the video tell the actual avg fps you were getting.
Great advice! I’m trying to use a capture card more to show true fps, but in scenarios where I can’t I can just make a note of what the fps was without OBS running
Good perf for an rtx4050 branded as rtx4060 (sku 107)
My pc 12400f 4060 msi
Most of the games 79+ fps medium setting with anti-aliasing, including elden ring, horizon forbidden west lol, if not i switch to dlss quality and ye same as native at 1440p 4060 is a good card for 1440p but the haters are everywhere, i bough it for 335 usd
It can even play 4k in some games. It’s def not as bad as some people think
really bro?
im so confused if i go rtx 4060 i pair with i7 12700/f, if its bad for 1440p med/high settings i go rtx 4060 Ti with i5 12/13400f
@@mluthfanfaohan old games ye more than 70 fps , new games u can reach that with dlss quality, if the game heavy demanding, right now playing fortnite 1440p dlss quality with high settings 12directx nanite my fps around 85 to 105, if i disable nanite i get more than 100 fps, funny that i see dlss quality better than native or almost the same
@@mluthfanfaohanI would prioritize a better gpu over over the cpu.
@@Rileswork thanks man, i decided to 4060 Ti
wht not compare it with DLSS.. i think there's nothing wrong with DLSS. people are always looking for the raw performance when DLSS is another level of technology.
I agree, nothing wrong with DLSS. I use it if it’s available, but it is not available in all games which is why I think people like to see raw performance comparisons
This is disappointing. With the performance last gen showed at this resolution, I really thought 1440p would become the new FHD in this generation. Just compare 1440p monitor prices to a few years ago. Everything is primed and Nvidia has the technology to do it. They just decided to be greedier and greedier.
They are really relying on DLSS 3. Which as more games support it will be nice but right now it’s only a handful of games
no rtx no dlss no fg? sorry not my kind of review
Totally fair, thanks for the feedback!
The baseline to call something a 1080p card should be 1080p, high settings with raytracing if supported and it just struggles. It was released struggling and will only get worse. Don't buy one, nobody buy one. It's a rebranded 4050. If you need a card, get a used 3060ti for cheaper. Don't support this bs
I’ve tested ray tracing on many games and I do not recommend it with this card. The performance hit for the quality improvements are not worth it. Frame gen helps a little there but honestly the picture starts looking smudged and fake when it’s turned on with RT
1. Do not buy used cards. 2. The 4060 is fine. Tested multiple games and get 60fps 1440p at highest.
@@newax_productions2069 with no dynamic resolution?
@@pedroxfireplays3637 With no dynamic resolution, can't stand it. Never works well.
@@newax_productions2069 That's great to read, cuz I'm almost finishing my pc building and got the 4060 2 months ago. It's such a relief! Thx for the feedback, man.
