No fp1???
We need some twitch content
Got to love Valtteri Bottas' Aussie 'Second' Car ruclips.net/video/xVhRm0eJ4A4/видео.html
How about instead of a podium prediction you do a 2 3 4 prediction, it would be more unpredictible.
That's a really good idea
0.5 for correct P4!
And we have the Dutch anthem as background sound during the predictions
Also not putting Max in 2-4 would indirectly tell their prediction for P1. So in other words, 2-4 prediction is almost equivalent to 1-4 prediction.
How the turn tables
Biggest good surprise.. we all get up early in the morning and the race for one reason or another is an absolute banger, overtakes on track, differing strategies, someone having a blinder of a result, and an interesting podium
crazy prediction
Biggest good surprise: Max wins by 3 tenths of a second, holding off Leclerc's last-gasp move on the final lap
Let’s not go crazy here. If the race doesn’t involve Max the toddler disappearing 30 seconds up the road within the first 10 laps it’ll be bearable
@@chrisjones5411why ‘the toddler’?
Considering quali and race are 1am and 12am respectively for me I’ll just stay up.
Matt:
Surprise: ocon but doesn't need points
Flop: perez if 3rd of lower
Matt has figure out the system
Biggest good surprise: any of the bottom 5 teams scoring points, really
Also flop : any of the top 5 team drivers didn't score a point, really
Imagine if Ocon arrive last and Perez first 😂
exept for stroll @@randomguy4616
If the race is half as chaotic as last year it’s gonna be a banger
Max wins pole, leads most laps and wins by minimum five seconds
I think if there's no major incidents in the first 2 laps, the race will be pretty clean
Last year was chaotic in a bad way. So many dumb decisions by the stewards
love that promotion for this race features Bottas as an Aussie! 😂
He spent a solid week or 2 down there for Australian cycling races with his partner. They were kinda the "headliners" for these big gravel races her and him are into now.
GCN did a whole YT video with the Tiffany and him. He's been spending a lot of time there this year.
@@Real28Yep, watched that GCN video as well, pretty cool.
I would love to see Piastri on the podium, it was nice seeing him get his first points there too.
Lando's podium ✅
Max DNF ✅
Yuki and ricciardo contact ❌
Good predictions made by the people!!
Was thinking the same thing insane
Congrats to that mad man for that prediction.
It’s fun to come back and see this after the race 😂
No Aussie has ever got a podium in Australia.
Daniel Ricciardo did finish P2 in 2014 but was later disqualified due to fuel flow irregularities.
i'm pretty sure john smith got a podium in 1983, however no Australian has ever won the Aus Gp at melbourne
But Got to love Valtteri Bottas' Aussie 'Second' Car ruclips.net/video/xVhRm0eJ4A4/видео.html
That's correct, but the Australian GP wasn't part of the F1 World Championship before 1985 @@LachieHartung
12:03 - this aged well
Quick reminder that K-Mag has only one podium in F1… in his first race! And it was exactly 10 years ago, 2014 Australian GP
Such wasted potential.
I hope he repeats it!
It seems like only yesterday, isn't it?
The more ironic it is that his teammate is Nico "where's MY podium" Hülkenberg.... HULK his first podium after first lap chaos??
We are 3 races in and already gotten the defeatist "he cant win every race" energy. Its gonna be a long season
I will be up at midnight or something here in the USA. And honestly I love those races. Both kids are asleep my husband watches maybe 15min and I get to eat snacks by myself
5:37
"Fire in his belly"
I hope not literally 😂
yeah that was kinda the reason bearman drove last time
IT Crowd “Cradle of filth” energy
Here after the race and wow 2/3 of the fan predictions did come true👏 11:41
Stroll getting an autograph from Piastri @6:26 lmao
Lolz
Max DNF is the only way you stop him.
Red Bull forces Perez to switch cars with Max
@@staalejonko They have the same cars!!! Slightly different setups do to driver preference but same car.
This aged like fine wine!
@@airshipflea5219 I think this guy has tempered with the car
@@staalejonko he should do that every race
Those last two crazy predictions came true and the Max DNF one needs to be in the Hall of Fame now lol.
Australian GP Fact: No Australian Driver has ever officially finished on the podium in a Championship F1 Race. The last race where an Aussie got a F1 podium in Australia was in 1983 when John Smith finished in second. BUT, that race wasn't even a race run by F1 but instead just driven in Australian F1 Racing Cars!
Wikipedia confirms that an Australian hasn't won the Australian Grand Prix since Alan Jones in 1980.
That's sloppy research, mate - the 1980 'Australian GP' was NOT an official Formula 1 event and therefore does not count.
Yeah. The Australian Grand Prix before the 1985 season is non-Championship or non-Formula One World Championship race.
@@vittoriobollo3408 Probably he mean the whole 1980 World Championship season.
Both Haas cars finish in the points. That's my crazy prediction. Also yes Max wins, and wins by like 20 seconds and is sounds like he went for a country drive at the end of the race.
A fellow HAAS fan. Keep the faith.
What is your opinion of my contention that Komatsu should give Mich Schumacher another try?
@@herbertwilliams1608 Not if it keeps Bearman off the grid. Hulk and Bearman in '25!
Just thinking out loud. The easier choice is Beatman but Mick Schumacher,,,,history, pedigree along with time to reflect. Oh, Gene pondering Mags and Schue. First get Hulk and Mags into the top 10 in Australia then it is Komatsu's call.
@@herbertwilliams1608But Mick had his chance in my opinion, and I feel like Bearman has more potential than Mick
No Australian has been on the Australian GP podium since it has been part of the F1 calendar in 1985.
John Smith was the most recent, finishing second in 1983. The most recent Australian winner was Alan Jones in 1980.
So lecrec is going to be on pole. Got it!
As an Aussie from Melbourne. I can confirm Bottas is indeed Australian.
That Uber ad he did was the single most compelling piece of evidence in this 'debate.' I don't know why I even call it a debate, by this point he is the most Australian driver.
He literally looks like every single tradie
As an aussie from south australia, also here to confirm bottas is indeed australian, and we claim him as an honorary south australian citizen
As a Finn, he is both Finnish and Australian
@@topikenttaBe honest mate, at this point you've lost him. He has defected.
I was so sure that Danny Ric got a podium after the DSQ, but no. The one time he won, he was disqualified, then got 2 4th places. Webber also had multiple 4th and 5th places.
Just hoping for an eventful race. The off track shenanigans has been more interesting than the races themselves.
6:14 oh damn! You went for it 👀
After Saudi, what could Riccardo do in Australia to be considered a flop? The bar is already so low.
Not have a 43 second pit stop? Lol
Spin not once, but twice
He could go off track and hit something like he did in the Renault.
I miss waking up in the middle of the night (am from the Netherlands) to start of the F1 season. Miss the happy Aussies, the sun when they start the season. Bring back Melbourne park as the season opener!!
It will be the season opener next year. :)
For the record no Australian has ever been classified higher than P4 in the Australian grand prix. Ricciardo finished in P2 once but was disqualified for technical irregularities with his car (IIRC exceeding fuel flow limits) and that's it. In a very real sense Mark Webber's shock P5 in a Minardi is the best Sunday any Aussie has ever had at their home race.
Nice, two of the three fan predictions come true!
There has never (I was equally surprised) been an Australian on the podium of their home GP. The country got their Ozzie GP thanks to the success of Alan Jones in the 80s, but even he retired from the only races he drove there in '85 & '86.
Webber scored a 4th place once.
Biggest good suprise - Piastri Podium !!
CL16 pole confirmed
I have never been more excited to see a RUclipsr post a new video. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Fan suggestion: Neither of you guys are allowed to have the same person nominated for a category. Whoever goes first for that category gets their prediction in. If the second person has the same name they have to go for their second choice for that category. I predict spice.
You do realize that they both will go for max win every single time so its not fair because the one going first will always get the point
@@greenfj1466 Sure, but since they will alternate on who starts each time, they will each get opportunities to choose max. but cant choose him every race. thats what makes the game interesting
been waiting for this one boys
love this channel, never disappoints, and always gives me a good laugh! 🔥🏎
God bless you guys for actually getting up for the 4am and 5am starts this weekend.
We will be there no matter what!!!!
@@mattp1tommyI'd love to be too, but I'm working a pair of 10 hour shifts in a hotel kitchen all weekend.
@@mattp1tommy Also thanks for always thanking the Aussies/Asians/Kiwis who get up early/go to sleep late before you mention the inconvenience of doing it yourself. Makes us feel heard. :)
6:40 I was about to write this "well ackshually" part kkkkkkkk
1:15 oscar to get a podium in AUS before Ricciardo? 👀
Danny ric had plenty of chances
Piastri is driving a point-scoring McLaren.
Ricciardo is driving a backmaker V-CARB (and has extremely few chances to drive a point-scoring F1 car in the future).
It's a fair call
@@angelrobles7201 i meant in absolute terms. Ricci has had competitive cars and many more years to try and get one in australia!!
Y’all should expand the predictions to top 5. Would allow for a little unpredictability 😂
That definitely would be more interesting, picking a top 3 in this season is pretty dull, especially when the top 2 spots are locked in.
Bruh the crazy fan predictions were almost on point
@RODAFF1899 is both a madlad for predicting Max DNF and Nostradamus for being correct.
finally, its race week! 🎉
Already listened to the Spotify one, just leaving my thumbs up on this one❤
The good ole "he can't win EVERY race..."
Perez is out of the equation, so it's no longer THEY can't win every race.
Dutch national anthem at the end of the race.
nick devries wins the austrailian grand prix
Jarno Opmeer wins for Mercedes 👌🏻
Matt is low key the biggest Perez hater 😂
Yes, he clearly hates to see Checo do well.
I don't think he's a Checo hater. More of a Dan fan.
He knows pretty well that if Checo does well, Danny Ric has no chance to get that seat.
While gargling LeClerc’s balls…
@@angelrobles7201No,He's a leclerc fan so if checo doesnt do well leclerc can finish higher,Its the same with me but that doesnt mean i hate checo i just want leclerc to do better,i wouldnt mind if checo finished third but i just want leclerc to do better
@@greenfj1466 The Leclerc fanboy part is well known and documented. It's the one that makes the numbers on Twitch go up with things like Brazil last year (sorry).
The Dan part is not like a full-time fan (so to speak). It's that he wants DR to have his dreamed Red Bull comeback. Which cannot happen as long as Checo does well.
"Lovely little ding dong." I've heard this before.
You guys should pick crazy fan predictions for each other. So if matt picks one for tommy and it comes true, tommy gets a point.
Guess my man actually cursed max this time
@2.30 That's my boxing kangaroo "Skip". He signed it that day.
"set your alarm if you're in europe"...
have you seen the calender? There are way too many races, so when you need to skip a few, all the odd times ones (australia, japan, las Vegas) and Monaco are the first ones to Not watch. Then the season becomes manageable. As long as all sprint-races are skipped too.
You should add guess for fastest lap in qualy 😅
You guys should review your predictions when you rate the drivers post race
Prediction: Stroll will give Rocket Powered Mowhawk an aneurysm
That's almost always guaranteed
I recommend a point for getting the top3 right even in the wrong order...😅
Wow Tommy, that's an awesome shirt hanging in the background. Thumbs up.
You guys shoud also try and predict if the next race is gonna be a Max Grand Slam.
I dont think there will be a grandslam,The grandslam is gonna be in suzuka and spa I think but after ferrari imola upgrades who knows maybe max will be challenged since they are changing the car alot
Last year's race was absolute madness... I'd love to see Carlos have a redemption race!
I mean this isnt a movie but if all you guys think everything carlos does is a cinematic masterpiece then thats okay
If there's contact at VCARB it will be deliberate. By Yuki, who else.😂😂
I really want to see an Aussie on the podium
My prediction for the twitch stream is matty wines about the time the race is on
No Australian has ever finished on the podium at the Australian GP, which has been on the calandar since 1985.
During the sponsored bit, whats coming out this weekend you might need VPN for?
Love your vids as always
Absolutely love your videos
Albert Park brings chaos & Checo is often in the middle of it. Oscar doesn't give away position if it is "his." My prediction is a wipe out & 2xDNFs. At the other end, Yuki is pissed off & afraid of getting stuck behind K Mag again so they wipe each other out as well, 2xDNFs more
Tom saying Piastri will be "the biggest surprise" when Piastri is already 5th in the championship. Like betting on Beyoncé to sell out an arena...
I think you need a category “without Max predictions”
Im looking forward to Singapore where there might be another driver not in a Red Bull that wins.
what if P1 curse is activated for pole position??
Im going Carlos p2, Charles p3 with a fight between the Ferrari's and McLarens for the 2-3 podium positions. Max will pit at the end to make it look like he wasn't a full minute ahead at the end of the gp. Sergio for 4th
Carlos 😂
Mate this Aint monza,Either carlos will get passed by leclerc(If he was ever ahead)Or there wont be a fight
Okay so Leclerc will get pole position for sure now
Damn, Q3 prediction for Albon
If you held off your predictions until a little later it would be an even more shocking prediction
You could guess about the amount of seconds Max finishes before p2
Max could win every race.
I say this as someone who roots for Sainz and McLaren. The car's there. RB's reliability is good enough that Max's only danger of DNF is drain covers and someone Ocon-ing him. The car's also fast; maybe not as fast as last year, but it's a lot more stable. And Max...my word he is good. Even among the ex champions, he is the best by a pretty clear margin. Unless RB tears itself apart this year (pokes Helmut to go join Jos and Horner's bodily fluid tossing match), we are going to look at the most dominant season ever. And winning /every/ race is in the cards.
Mark Webber achieved two podium finishes in the Australian Grand Prix during his Formula 1 career. He finished third in the 2002 Australian Grand Prix while driving for Minardi and then finished second in the 2012 Australian Grand Prix while driving for Red Bull Racing.
He finished 5th in 2002 but because the drive was so stellar they brought him onto the podium. In 2012 Seb was the driver on the podium not Webber
TBF with a race start time 1 am EDT I'd some excitment in the race but less than last year because I'd like the race to finish before 4 unlike last year so I can grab a bit more Zs before I get wake up
6:22 Mark Webber had a "podium" in Melbourne :P (special dispensation) after his 5th place in 2002 :P
Biggest surprise Matt getting up at 3 30am 😂
Europeans being inconvenienced for one race time out of the year 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤯🤯😭😭😭
@@Ceece20 no inconvenience I get up that time every day so no problem
Biggest good surprise: After the weekend Stroll and Sargeant get replaced
They should rename the channel P1 with Max Verstappen 😂. You guys are doing great! Keep it up!
As Australias biggest Piastri’s fan, if that bloke gets on the podium or god forbid wins. keep an eye out for me on the TV coverage as celebrations begin at the track. Monday will become a public holiday I promise
My Biggest Good Surprise:

My Top Three:

My Top 10: Ver, Lec, Per, Alo, Rus, Nor, Pia, Ham, Tsu, Str.
Ollie Bearman....
If he gets to race, it will be UNFAIR to expect the same sort of points finishing results again. Too much pressure.
The kid DID NOT have a pre-season. Track might be easier but handling a variety of racing incidents are another story.
bro he had the second fastest car and got 7th it wasnt that crazy of a result
@@ImShaked Was nervous for him because the track is very crash prone. Did 110% well to avoid any incidences unlike the seasoned/experienced STROLL.
"An Australian driver has never officially finished on the podium at their home race since Australia joined the Formula 1 World Championship calendar in 1985" From Mclaren's Australian GP guide posted 2 days ago.
I feel McLaren will have a strong weekend Melbourne track seems to suit them last few years
Crazy prediction more res flags than last year
Bold prediction: I predict that the weekend for Alpine won't be as bad as last year.
Bold prediction: at least one of the Sauber drivers will finish in P15 or higher.
Where is the scoreboard you said was happening last season.
If the MV years simplified:
2021 - Max takes off his coat
2022 - Max takes off his jumper
2023 - Max rolls up his sleeves
2024 - Max starts flexing his muscles
2025 - Max gets K.O.'d by the most elegant CL roundhouse kick.
Max for the win
Sergio for the second
Charles Lic Lic for the third
Stroll for the retirement
No Australian has been confirmed a podium finisher of the Australian Grand Prix as a championship round.
"You can't win every race this year" - "Hold my red bull" M. Verstappen
At this point, you guys are going to have to make room for a F1.5 championship in the podcast. 😄
